  • this is disgusting

  • an enviromentalists's existence or doing anything else otherwise

is simply too harmful to the environment. Bwahahahahahaha....

  • if you want clean air... invent a new way to breathe out of your own ass.

0bama sided against the EPA. he throws his own party and all the eco-facists under the bus then drives over you guys... then reverses. then drives over you again. and you all love him for it! Bwahahahahahahahaha... and then 0bama fixes you 9000 crap-sandwichs... which of course the left gobble down with utter glee and happiness. ya, if your an environmentalist: you may want to start eating your own shit or stop breathing.

  • I WOULD LIKE TO K.... ALL POLITICIANTS IN THIS WORLD I HATE EM SO MUCH I HATE ENVIROMENT NOWODAYS

  • It's baffling that anyone could ever even consider voting *against* the Clean Air Act. Huh? You'd have to belong to some alien race that doesn't need a clean, natural environment. These sorts of thing should be no-brainers and non-issues. Everyone needs a healthy planet, and it's flat-out insane not to want to save and protect it.

  • Wake up politicians - we want a clean environment!

  • The EPA IS legislating through regulating. How do you not understand this? I bet all those people in Sub-Saharan Africa hear the message loud and clear don't they? You offer mosquito nets, they die over POSSIBLE thinning eggshells. Way to go, dumbass lib. Have a good time on Saturday, but remember this, moron, you have the luxury of living in the USA. I ask you, when do you libs get embarrassed or feel bad about what you inflict, but don't know about? 23K-HYSTERICAL-you know that, idiot?

  • Did you know we (the taxpayers) give free money in the form of subsidies to Oil companies? This tax payer money giveaway is along the lines of $21 Billion this year alone. Scott Brown voted against the bill that would have stopped this free money giveaway. Oil companies don't pay taxes either. Hmm... Why would SB keep voting to help these guys out? Could it be because he recieved $88,300 in campaign funds? Or maybe the $40 million oil has spend lobbying congress in this first quarter alone

  • @Spoonalicious who pays your bills, little girl? BTW I thought you were a guy when I called you a bitch and a heater is slang for a smoke. Who pays your bills, clueless? Have fun with your three fellow protesters that actually believe 23K died from living near a coal plant. If you are so committed don't heat your home. Does your dumbass really think that someone (besides LIAR Al Gore) wouldn't have made billions if billions were to be made on this crap? Billions will be made when they can be!

  • @Spoonalicious Gore has made billions off of lies. You think you can legislate technology that doesn't exist? We have it or we don't. Keep smoking those doobies that keep you thinking like such a retard. Don't get me wrong, I love pot but I am not going to make myself an idiot over it. Shape up. Think a little. Do a BIT of research outside of what your shamelessly lib professors teach you. I promise when your property taxes come into play, you WILL grow a brain.

  • YES! People's Rally for Clean Air THIS FRIDAY May 20th, 2011 outside Scott Brown's Office at NOONTIME!

  • @kittenagogo And finally, you clearly seem not to know anyone who has asthma, who cannot exercise as they would like, or who cannot leave their homes on Code Red days. I genuinely hope that you never have to watch someone you love go through that.

  • @kittenagogo Oh, and I like trees just fine. But watching a kid struggle for breath is not pretty, especially your own. Nobody is saying CO2 causes asthma on its own. The science (IPCC, EPA) says that accumulated CO2 leads to rising temperatures which leads to more reaction of volatile organic comounds from fossil fuel emissions with sunlight to produce more ozone (O3). And it is ozone that increases respiratory distress, the severity of asthma attacks, and the number of hospital visits.

  • @kittenagogo Your compassion is moving. But all kidding aside, you have to understand that in 2007, the Supreme Court order EPA to FOLLOW THE LAW and making a finding ACCORDING TO THE LAW whether or not CO2 and other greenhouse gases pose a threat to human health and welfare. So EPA found endangerment based on the existing science and is following a very specific procedure LAID OUT IN THE LAW to address new pollutants. All this agency-out-of control stuff is, just, well, blowing smoke.

  • FactCheck called this a deceiptful attack from the League of Women Voters. Let's have science over political agendas.

  • @beaver7216 FactCheck has been paid off. It seems that the most profitable industry in the world has some pull! Let's vote in favor of science and health.

  • Most childhood asthma is caused by parental tobacco habits. This ad is the biggest lie ever and the ACTORS in the ad should be identified in full transparency, shame on the women's league

  • To all you moonbats that think the EPA legislating is a good idea, I want you to recall who is largely responsible for the DDT ban that has literally killed tens of millions of people in Africa and India. If people in Africa and India don't mean anything to you, which I assume they don't as your answer to this is mosquito nets, consider that bedbugs have now been found carrying drug resistant MRSA.We used to buy a DDT bomb and they would be gone, but you know better.Congrats and thanks, FOOLS!

  • You should also go back in time to 1963 when the Clean Air Act was passed and tell EVERYONE in congress that they're pieces of shit and typical bleeding heart assholes. Thank u for my clean air 1963 Republicans & Democrats! Such a far cry from the corporate sponsored excuse for a Congress we have today trying to shove mercury, flouride, arsenic, and other toxins and carcinogens down our throats so big pharma, the healthcare industry, big insurance, big oil & coal can make money. Thank u LWV.

  • @kittenagogo28 I actually graduated college. My many many posts on this stream have already explained my position. My mom is an 18 year veteran at Mass General Hospital and my grandmother had asthma. I think I know a little bit about what causes asthma attacks. I have my own apartment, pay my bills, and support my family BY MYSELF. This has nothing to do with taxes and everything to do with SB voting in favor of big oil and coal against his constituents.

  • Comment removed

  • @oliviad1997 SB is a key swing Senator so his one vote does make a difference. But consider this: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

    — Margaret Mead

  • I just want to know how many children in the world are on a respirator because of CO2, oh wait its none. the LOWV should lose their 501c3 status

  • @mancini1643 You're right... it is none. But they are on respirators because of fine particulates, carcinogens, and other toxins that are pumped into the air along with that CO2. Read a friggin book and turn that pointing finger back on yourself. I guess 23,000 Americans dying from coal plants isn't enough for you. You should read up on fracking and mountain top removal and see what happens when regulation falls to the wayside.

  • @Spoonalicious Bet you believe walking by someone smoking a heater is going to kill you too.Stop being an alarmist bitch.I know you libs believe anything, but come on.Funny you are so concerned about mercury.I bet you love that bipartisan bill that bans the incandescent and puts a mercury filled tube in every single one of our lamps.Do you not have lamps, moonbat? Do you have hamsters running on a wheel to power your car? What cause I am a Republican I should agree with everything they do?

  • @kittenagogo28 Nope I don't buy those mercury bulbs... I've been looking for the LED's on sale but they're like $17... more money making schemes to pin people against the environment. How exactly do you smoke a heater? I have a gasoline powered automobile... Why are you calling me an alarmist bitch? and a moonbat? WOW Have I ever insulted you? No.

  • SCOTT BROWN DID NOT DO THAT THE WORLD PEEPS WHO CUT DOWN TREES AND KILL ANIMALS DO THIS TO US AND POLLUTERS SUCK BUT... I BET YOU JUST POLLUTED THIS EARTH ya im polliuting by elictricity but YA HE WOULDNT NEVER KILL SOMEONE O LOOK AT THAT SCOTT BROWN IS AWSUMER THAN U

  • @scared121 Scott Brown is the antithesis of awesome

  • Comment removed

  • @scared121 I'm 26 so that's a bunch of crap. Thanks for your astute observations you're really doing wonders for your cause. LOLZ He doesn't want to kill anyone I'm sure he just cares more about lining his pockets with big oil and coal money mmmmmm

  • Yeah, and he kicks puppies, too! Leftist liars & idiots. No wonder they call you the League of Women VULTURES!

  • @cgchex05 Oh right leftist that's why the LWV released a similar ad against Claire McCaskill, a DEMOCRAT, for voting the same way. Who is they? Hmmm could it be the corporate sponsored political propaganda machine you call news? A local channel his wife used to work for actually said "the lwv blames SB for global warming" what a bunch of crap. I sincerely hope no one you know ever suffers from respiratory illness.

  • @sprockette So logical minds want to choke on carcinogens and toxins like benzene, sulfur dioxide, and mercury? Logical minds think that 23,000 people dying each year from coal plant pollution isn't enough? I guess that makes me illogical then. So even though they ran a similar ad against a Democrat does that still drive logical minds to the right or is it the left? Since logical people should like legislators who vote against constituents and vote in favor of special interests? Pls clarify

  • Left wing wackos!

  • @onsitewelding2 You are aware that they ran a similar ad against a Democratic senator right?

  • @onsitewelding2 oh I'm sorry so that Democrat they ran a similar ad against for voting the same way is on the right now? It's called accountability. You probably think the environment is a left wing issue huh? That's why the EPA was created by a Republican after visiting China. That's why The Clean Air Act was a bi-partisan effort? Read a book you hate spewing ignoramus.

  • For those you say that LWV is non-partisan, compare the McCaskill (D) ad in which McCaskill is mention one time, at the end. With nicer music and pictures.

It is sad when special interest groups, like environmental groups, civil liberty groups, and, now, "non-partisan" voter education groups like LWV become partisan hacks.

  • @beaver7216 I know because those special interest groups make SO MUCH MONEY by regulation. That makes sense. The only special interests at play here are big oil and big coal. Sorry sweety. Your comparison proves nothing. Instead of calling them hacks maybe you should contact them civilly and express how you think the slight differential in the ads comes off as partisan. But I bet you won't.

  • @Spoonalicious I am not going to spend money to do a survey but I stand by my comparision that the anti-Brown ad was probably more effective than the anti-McCaskill ad. And I stand by my assertion that many environmental non-profits hurt their cause by being so partisian. It was so ironic that the Natural Resources Defense Fund had a fundraising ad fearmongering about Palin that came out at the same time as the greatest man-made environmental disaster in US history, Deepwater Horizon.

  • @beaver7216 Non-profits do hurt their cause by being partisan. Perhaps the ad about SB was more effective... and I hope it was. He's a key swing vote in the Senate. Palin is another sell out the the oil and coal industry. She was funded by shadowy non-profits. Grassroots organizing doesn't come with a huge lettered bus tour. But you're just going off-topic. The fact is SB voted against his constituents constantly and the LWV finally held him accountable. The environment is non-partisan.

  • The problem is not left/right etc., it is politicians like this taking millions to get elected and then casting votes against the people that elected them and in favor of the big money thay took to run their campaigns. This is just going to get worse and party and ideology have nothing to do with it.

  • @drilett yes! yes! yes!

  • The League of Women Voters can no longer sponsor impartial candidates nights and voter forums. Their new liberal aggressiveness has cost them dearly, now they are just another leftist noise in the chorus of liberal media. The people know better than to listen to such biased voices. Scott Brown pleases neither the left nor the right whose purity tests would force weak politicians to follow their narrow path. Scott Brown is one of the rare Republicans who will work bipartisanly. Go Scott!!

  • @gundalowman You're right! Scott Brown pleases the left nor the right! He pleases the special interests he works for! Hahaha... The LWV ran a similar ad against a DEMOCRAT... So there goes your leftist noise theory. Thank you LWV for getting this important message out there!! That Scott Brown votes against his constituent's majorities! He has lost the votes of the people who know that you work for US buddy! Not them!

  • @Spoonalicious And you are also against McCaskill, right?

  • @beaver7216 yes... absolutely. I swear allegiance only to the constitution

  • @Spoonalicious Thank you.

  • You people are sick minded. Using kids with birth defects and poor gene pools to make your point. You should have your heads examined. I played next to a coal burning facility in Salem, Mass. as a child. Neither I, nor my friends have any diseases related to the power plant. You are sick, sick, sick.

  • @nobleroman79AD You don't get the disease from pollution... pollution, allergens, and particulates are a trigger that causes the symptoms... this ad could save children's lives. It's controversial sensationalism. Bad news spreads fast.

  • Hooray for the issue-focussed LWV! Brown wants voters to ignore his attack on the environment & the LWV exposed him. Well before a BIPARTISAN Congress & Nixon created the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts the League recognized that a clean environment is important to health. Scott Brown and some commenters are too young to remember how nauseating Massachusetts water was in 1972. Dyes from paper and textile plants changed the color of rivers that flowed with sewage through the state. And the air...

  • this commercial is outright propaganda! pollution does not CAUSE asthma; it doesnt help, but using the little girl strapped to a breathing machine? gimme a break!!

  • I am a republican who voted for Scott Brown and am so disappointed in him, but this comercial is stupid. It's typical left wing spin and insults the intelligence of people who do pay attention.

  • @kbarrkb I think it gets the attention of the people who don't usually pay attention... indeed that's the point... This type of gross imagery spikes controversy and draws attention to the fact that he votes against his constituents.

  • Politics aside - this commercial screams GROSS EXAGGERATION just by its tone and imagery. I'm waiting for the next installment with big-eyed puppies that cough.

  • @rodspencer It's these types of ads that spike controversy and get attention. So in that sense it is propaganda and gross imagery. But if it makes a difference it's worth it. I hope it already has. The folks at a certain local news station I used to do work for spun it like the LWV were a bunch of alarmists blaming SB for global warming... what a bunch of loyalist crap. Just because his wife used to work there. He's such a weasel. He lives the next town over... ha!

  • Also 66.17% of Massachusetts voters (roughly 2/3rds) voted to de-criminalize marijuana and for a fine of only $100 if found with less than an ounce. Scott Brown once again voted AGAINST voters and voted to increase fines to $1,000 and to re-criminalize possession of marijuana. Talk about authoritarianism!

  • @Spoonalicious Guess what else-I think pot should be legal too! What are you five? If you want to see authoritarianism, look at obama! Look what he's trying to do! Sire is just about to sign a decree that says anyone (EXCEPT UNIONS OF COURSE) that bids on govt contracts has to disclose their political contributions-because he says so! By the way haven't I run into your dumb lib ass before? You think you are a non-polluter because you take the T, right? Tell me do you use heat and lights?

  • @kittenagogo28 Too much of a dumbass to answer? How many of those little doobies you smoke are laced with the very same carcinogens that you speak of?You can give it a try, but I bet you can't even come close to explaining your position.I've seen your page. What are you a college student? You realize that most ADULTS would like to repeal the 26th right? We can't have you morons deciding our taxes. Why don't you speak when you take care of your bills-I think your viewpoint may be VERY DIFFERENT.

  • @kittenagogo28 you realize you posted that comment to yourself lol

  • @kittenagogo28

Dear lord, you are a fucking idiot, PLEASE stop talking for the benefit of Republicans everywhere.

  • @kittenagogo28 Everyone should disclose political contributions. What have they got to hide? Sponsorship leads to bias. I don't take the T. I use heat and lights. I think Obama has done some pretty messed up stuff... I don't affiliate myself with any political designation. I didn't say I think pot smoke should be legal... I said 66.17% (almost 2/3rds) of the Citizens of Massachusetts (whom SB is supposed to represent) think it should be decriminalized and he voted against them.

  • @oliviad1997 If you paid attention to politics you'd know that Scott Brown is a key swing vote in the Senate. So in his case one vote does make a difference. Luckily the legislation didn't pass... gee I guess most other legislators decided precedent and public health were more important than de-regulation of the oil and coal industry.

  • Go to the New York Post for FACTS on health!? HAHAHA is this a joke? Corporate sponsored drivel from Newscorp... Wow. NYP is a tabloid.

  • @oliviad1997 It's not a word... maybe some obscure foundation like the NYP with corporate sponsors created a new dictionary to suit ignorant people like you. But to the rest of us with a decent education it's not a word. You tell me about the cesium since you love it so much. Have we resorted back to 2nd grade we have to talk like this? I think your language would have you sent to the principals office.

  • @oliviad1997 The superlative form of stupid is most stupid. CO2 does not cause asthma. But if SB is successful at crippling the Clean Air Act than all the toxins like mercury, sulfur dioxide, benzene and other harmful particulates and carcinogens will TRIGGER asthma. What are you going to argue next? Cigarettes don't cause lung cancer? Asthma usually does require some sort of genetic disposition. The way you talk about my family you clearly have no sense of empathy or weren't raised right.

  • correction: Mr. Webster and I...

  • @oliviad1997 Hahaha wow. People who lack intellect often resort to cursing and blind insults. There are 3 contributing stimuli to asthma 1.) early childhood infections 2.) chemical exposure through air pollution and 3.) insufficient immune system development. LOL no one knows what causes asthma. LOL Here is a great link with statistics from the American Lung Association: state of the air dot org

  • If you want to ask Scott Brown why he ignored his constituents and repeatedly votes in favor of special interests by destroying the Clean Air Act contact him here:

359 DIRKSEN SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510

    (202) 224-4543

  • @oliviad1997 You're an awful person; Shameful and heartless. I sincerely hope that no one in your family has any respiratory illness in their lifetime. As a citizen of Massachusetts I took part in a call-in campaign urging SB to vote against this legislation. He ignored his constituents. TRUTH. My grandmother had asthma. Read a science book instead of watching TV.

  • How could anyone not like this video? TRUTH

  • politics is disgusing! people who defend Scott Brown, look up a bli that he voted for and be ashamed of yourselves. Polutions do make kids sick, if you don't get it that maybe you are not getting any clean air.

  • Anybody here have a kid with asthma? Ya'll seem to be all about the politics and wildly ignorant of the substance. The science says that increased carbon dioxide pollution will increase ozone and particulate levels, leading to aggravated asthma attacks, more emergency room visits, and yes, more respiratory harm to sensitive populations like children and the elderly. And Scott Brown voted to strip EPA of its ability to protect people from that harm. Look it up.

  • @daveham3225 Hey, assmuch! Was Scott Brown the SOLE votte against this bill?!?!?!?!

Is the League of Women Voters non-partisan or partisan? Have you ever read Scott brown's defense of his vote/?!?!

If not, I suggest that you STFU!

  • @ToddonCapeCod No he's never defended it he just says "oh I thought the LWV was non partisan I guess not." If you have his defense I'd really like to see it. He failed to explain why he voted to destroy the Clean Air Act TWICE! Scott Brown was not the only vote FOR the bill that would have striped the EPA of it's ability to enforce the Clean Air Act. But he is a key Senator who's vote has more impact as is Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, whom the LWV also held accountable. Thank you LWV!

  • @Spoonalicious May 4th's Boston Herald contains his defense.

I suggest you read it. Most editorials I have come across condemn the LWV for moving away from their intended purpose and becoming just another tool of the liberal, anti-American Left in this country

  • @ToddonCapeCod Can I guess that one of those editorials was found in the New York Post? Sorry I don't read tabloids and propaganda. So I guess Claire McCaskill the Democrat is a Republican now? And preserving clean air standards in place since 1963 is anti-American? Go smoke another one bro.

  • @daveham3225 Scott Brown voted to stop the EPA from circumventing congress and to end unelected officials in the EPA from legislating-AS HE SHOULD HAVE! Sorry if your kid belongs in a bubble, but CO2 is what most of us call PLANT FOOD! If a stadium of 10,000 people is representative of our atmosphere, two of them represent the amount of CO2. Why do you hate trees? You must want trees to die. Why do you hate people? You must want us all to just stop breathing. Stop spewing your lies.

  • @kittenagogo28 You're an idiot. This has less to do with CO2 and everything to do with the particulates of carcinogens like benzene and other toxins like mercury and sulfur dioxide that go along with clean air regulation. I suppose 23,000 people dying every year from coal plant pollution isn't enough for you. Read a book. He voted to dismember the clean air act. The EPA doesn't legislate it does the same thing it's done for decades since the BIPARTISAN Clean Air Act was passed. Idiot.

  • @daveham3225 Oh and by the way, YOU LOOK IT UP! You look up what our greenhouse gas is made of. You look up how our govt is not supposed to work with UNELECTED hacks making laws. If your kid is sick, I'm sorry, but the rest of us live our lives in a perfectly normal way. We drive our cars to work and exist and if your kid needs special considerations....well that's really YOUR problem isn't it? Can you tell me how Al Gore lives? What sort of house does he live in? What JET does he fly in?

  • @kittenagogo28 Who said anything about Al Gore or the car you drive? The bill he voted FOR would have stripped the EPA of it's ability to enforce the Clean Air Act which has been in place since 1963 and was a bipartisan bill. The Clean Air Act has more to do with stationary polluters like steel mills and coal plants. You should have taken daveham3225's advice.

  • LWV is now OFFICIALLY just another shill for the progressive's 'green' movement. Brown wants to stop the EPA's regulation of CO2 which does NOT cause asthma and doesn't even have any discernible negative affect on people until it's over 20 times the concentration it now(~400ppm). CO2 is PLANT FOOD, we cannot live without CO2 in the atmosphere anymore than we could live without rainfall. Do not support these pinkos.

  • @Mikeishere1st yeah what you're saying about CO2 is true... but emissions, say diesel or jet fuel for example... contain toxic carcinogens like benzene. Smoke stack emissions contain toxic heavy metals like mercury. Read a book.

  • Creating misleading and fraudulent commercials like this should cause League of Women Voters to lose all credibility AND tax exempt status. IRS where are you/?

  • @flinfran misleading and fraudulent? He did vote for that Amendment. He voted for the same restrictions on the clean air act when he first was elected to the senate when he voted for the Murkowski resolution. It's a FACT that you are 50% more likely to get asthma or lung cancer if you live in cities like long beach CA or NYC. Studies have also shown that there are more instances of MS in people who live next to busy intersections. You should really research before you go running your mouth.

  • Comment removed

  • @ACrystalTurtle1 Geee I don't know maybe that's because a lot less people were driving. If you like leaded gasoline so much you should move to China and see how that works for ya.

  • @ACrystalTurtle1 P.S.: Stupidest isn't even a word haha. Lead is good for you! Lead effects the brain... which explains your comment.

  • the LWV have leaned left for decades now.... I'm not surprised they decided to stop leaning and just dive head first into their left wing agenda. Obviously, the special interests have marinated the league enough to turn it into a hack organization just like many other organizations.

  • @dancnkc yeah I know because the special interests really benefit from tighter regulations... you're really smart! (sarcasm)

  • @dancnkc You are aware that they ran a similar ad against a Democratic senator right?

  • That little girl is exhaling CO2! She's a poluter! As are all members of the LWV.

More kids have asthma today because they're spending all day indoors playing video games in their dusty bedrooms. What a great babysitter.

Get out and get some fresh air! There's plenty of it to go around.

  • @4theqz There is plenty of fresh air! Thanks to the Clean Air Act. The Clean Air Act that Scott Brown is trying to destroy.

  • scottbrown . com / defend - our - senator

  • @cschaub95 I'm from Massachusetts. I took part in a call-in campaign urging Scott Brown to vote against this legislation. He ignored his constituents and voted for special interests and big polluters. That is the truth.

  • Terrible lying ad! Come on LWV.

  • @cschaub95 um it's not a lie. Can you read? Because uh he really did vote against the Clean Air Act. TWICE... the last time was the Murkowski resolution. My mom told me about it and she's a hard-core conservative. But she's also a nurse. She knows how pollution effects people with respiratory illness. My grandmother also had asthma. You define ignorance.

  • What a shameful display LWV. What has become of you? You are not presenting facts for the voters to consider. You are blatantly pushing an agenda.

  • @gcbtrading Are you really that ignorant? Read a book... talk to someone with asthma... get a clue. Scott Brown ignores his constituents. I should know!

  • @gcbtrading actually they are presenting facts. Maybe if you were proactive and didn't speak before you knew what you were talking about you'd see that. This is the second time he's voted against the clean air act. The last time was the Murkowski resolution in June 2010... to aid in your research.

  • If you are outraged by this disgusting attack ad, call the LWF. In Massachusetts at 617-523-2999 or in DC at 202-429-1965.

  • I think the ad is fair from the standpoint of demonstrating the real cost of pollution that may not be necessary. I think it's also realistic to call politicians out on their voting records personally. I reject the argument that it's a trade off or other inside the box excuses. I also think the nation is going to hell in a hand basket because of liberal handout programs. Obviously, some of the good people of Massachusetts think so as well. I guess liberals have to chip away where they can.

  • @sixtiksix The nation is going to hell in a hand basket because of corporate welfare handouts. How many corporations took their stimulus money and sent it to China? Globalization, arbitrary wars, bad loans, and bailouts bankrupted the nation... not social safety net programs that were actually started to pull us out of the depression. Look at the numbers. I like that you think the ad is fair though. The Clean Air Act had bi-partisan support!

  • @Spoonalicious OK...so let's get rid of both....

BTW..saying look at the numbers means nothing.

    Good luck....

    tik

  • @sixtiksix At least 23,000 people dying each year from coal plant pollution means nothing? The airport workers who get cancer from the benzene in jet fuel mean nothing? The higher instance of MS at busy intersections means nothing? The higher cancer and asthma rates in smoggy cities mean nothing?

  • @Spoonalicious Spoonalicious, and I am sure that you are....let's go back to my original point, then I would be happy to join in with any movement you have to erase the industrial section of our nation. You seem very passionate and the items on your list are serious. But you will never be taken serious if you are discussing the attributes of bull frog jumping and the conversation turns to Manchester United. Good luck...

    tik

  • @sixtiksix Thanks! :)

  • @Spoonalicious Do you say the same line to EVERYONE or is that all the bunko crap you know to spew. Here is the real problem with you libs. You will believe anything. You are so married to ideology that you feel you have to agree with everything a politician that you support thinks. I don't agree with Republicans all the time because I think. I have my own views. I just appreciate that they aren't total idiots. Bet you believed obama when he said the border fence was done the other day too.

  • @kittenagogo28 I'm not a liberal and which politician do I agree with everything he/she says? I think everyone in Congress should be fired. The Clean Air Act was bi-partisan. The media spins things to condemn liberals and the environment because they've all been bought and paid for with record oil profits along the lines of 390,000,000 a DAY in the first quarter of this year. Have you ever read the definition of liberal? I mean from a dictionary... not some right-wing propaganda website.

  • @kittenagogo28 You're so ignorant you're only hurting your own cause. The EPA was created by a Republican and the Clean Air Act was signed into law by a bi-partisan congress. The respectable Classical Conservatism of years past is a far cry from today's far-right corporate neo-conservatism. Reagan had the right idea in his Time for Choosing speech. Oooh Is that something a liberal would say? I don't think so.

  • Disgusting ad. Sure, show a sick child and attack a hard working US Senator who has shown more bi-partisan support than most. Meanwhile the LWV fights to continue the outragous practice of abortion. Glad I am a woman, glad I am a voter, glad I am not in your "League".

  • @MsKandy696969 I guess you don't know what it's like to have a rapist's baby grow inside you. But I guess you're just a better person than those women. You'd have the baby right? Or you wouldn't get raped in the first place right? It was a conservative majority on the Supreme Court that ruled on Roe v Wade... hypocrites.

  • I remember when the League of Women Voters was a respected organization. Not anymore. They are left-wing, progressive political hacks (or hags).

  • @homeschoolmarm you should read the definition of progressive

  • @Spoonalicious Just who do you think you are, Mr. Webster? A crazy man's "progress" is a sane man's nightmare. The fact is, the League of Women Voters used to be a non-partisan, trusted organization. If they are able to sway elections as they wish is one thing, but--they will never regain the trust they once had--NEVER. They are now forever tainted just like AARP.

  • @homeschoolmarm Yeah trusted and non-partisan until politicians across the board removed them from political debates. Maybe there is some partisan stuff I am unaware of but it seems to me here they're just looking out for people (children and the elderly are most effected by chronic respiratory illnesses) and the environment. People should know about these things. SB is a key Senator and he needs to be held accountable. Mrs. Webster actually... Me and Mr. Webster have a great relationship <3

  • @homeschoolmarm BTW the other ad they made attacks a Democrat for voting the same way. So there goes your wack job partisan conspiracy theory. It's called accountability and I praise the LWV for this informational ad.

  • @homeschoolmarm They ran a similar ad against Democrat Claire McCaskill for voting the same way. What's this you were saying about partisanship? LOL

  • @homeschoolmarm left-wing, progressive political hacks (or hags)? Real nice. I guess that makes you a far-right brainwashed extremist? I'm a little confused why they ran that similar ad against a Democratic Senator then... so strange! So, according to your logic, pumping carcinogens and poisons like radioactive iodine, sulfur dioxide, mercury, and benzene is something the right wing supports? If it weren't for organizations like the LWV you'd be the one hacking.

  • this commercial is so fake!

  • @72marie uhm no it's not... not only did he vote for this amendment on April 6th but he also voted for the Murkowski resolution... both would have crippled the Clean Air Act. You should really do your research before you go running your mouth. Read up on long beach CA and how their pollution is working for them. They must be so healthy!! (sarcasm) get a clue

  • Thank you for giving me another reason to be thrilled I am no longer a member of the League of Women Voters. Non-partisan, my arse

  • @jjsterman I know because protecting the Clean Air Act and people with respiratory illness is a partisan issue. Brainwash much?

  • @jjsterman yup non partisan is right... that's why they spent hundreds of thousands on similar ads against a Democratic Senator McCaskill

  • The bought-and-paid-for Supreme Court will soon be giving the EPA control of 6 climate change/global warming court cases - so they'll be beating our energy companies over the head for using coal (45% of the way they create electricity for the country) and nuclear (another 25%). With the lack of environmental technology, as well as the "environmentally conscious" individuals who conveniently cry NIMBY (Not In MY Back Yard) when its location inconveniences them - how do you propose we do it?

  • @pscully001 I hope you enjoy cesium-137 and iodine-131... There is a conservative majority on the Supreme Court... so there goes your left-wing agenda theory. Coal = mercury + sulfur dioxide pollution... mmmm Solar, Hydrogen, geo-thermal, wind, and zero point energy... or even just CCD's on smoke stacks... but nooooo that would be like admitting liability

  • @pscully001 I would love to have a windmill and/or a solar panel in my back yard.

  • This is the biggest bunch of crap. When did the League of Women Voters start doing the dirty work for special interest groups? Who do you think this benefits - you or the special interests groups using you?

  • @pscully001 I know because special interests really profit from tighter regulations on emissions... Scott Brown also voted for the Murkowski resolution which also would have crippled the Clean Air Act back in June 2010. I took part in a call-in campaign urging him to not vote against clean air. He ignored his constituents.

  • Scott Brown benefits from the lobbyist for big coal, big pharma, and big oil obviously... who do you think profits when more people get cancer and asthma? who do you think profits when there are looser regulations on emission... energy companies. look up some statistics read a science book and get back to me. So tell me what "special interest groups" are against making money? Geez I would think this stuff would be common sense. More like commodity sense I guess.

  • this ad made me roast my brand new tires on my car eh time for another set of tires woo hoo

  • Public health and cost are a trade off. People need to understand that. You could regulate all industry and spend a lot of what was left of your GDP on healthcare, and everyone would be "healthy" for a little while. Or, you could be intelligent, regulate well, and lead to a growing economy where more people make more money and live better, longer lives in the long run. This ad is idiotic, and plays to peoples fears. Most however will be intelligent enough to see it for what it is.

  • This ad's imagery suggests that Scott Brown enjoys torturing children and puppies. It harkens back to Martha Coakley's attack ad suggesting that Scott Brown wants rape victims to die. Most voters won't buy it. The LWV is anything but "non-partisan", rather, they're in bed with the liberal Dems.

  • @jmKelley09 Wow... this ad is truth. I'm sure Scott Brown doesn't enjoy torturing children and puppies. He voted for the Jobs bill I'll give him that. But he definitely wasn't thinking about people with respiratory illnesses when he voted to disable the Clean Air Act TWICE. The last time was June 2010 the Murkowski resolution. My mom is a hard-core Conservative and SHE told me about the Murkowski res. She's a nurse. She knows the damage pollution can do. That's why the CAA is there.

  • The first time that I saw this ad, it rubbed me the wrong way and it still does. It feels exploitive.

  • @Nurseman1964 Maybe if your child was suffering from Asthma and you lived next to a coal plant that wanted to dump MORE mercury and sulfur dioxide into the air you'd see why this ad isn't exploitive at all. Unless the truth is exploitive. Hopefully that little girl will make a difference.

  • typical pabulum puking liberal lies!

  • @onlyoneway2rock so genius which part was a lie? and who's liberal? I didn't know protecting clean air and people with respiratory illness was a partisan issue. Look it up. Read a book. Turn off your damn TV.

  • Oh no Scott Brown wants to kill my kids! As if the "Scott Brown promotes rape" ad wasn't desperate enough. This is just pathetic.

  • @sublime3784 No one said he wants to kill anyone's kids. He just wasn't thinking of people with respiratory illnesses when he voted against the clean air act TWICE. Then again all that lobby money from big coal, big oil, and the healthcare industry can be kind of a distraction.

  • I am so glad the League of Women Voters is taking on Scott Brown's double bad vote on clean air! Senator Brown, vote with us, your voters, not with the polluters!

  • People first before profit. There is plenty of profit to go around, we don;t have to sacrifice people to have profit.

  • It is time for Sen. Brown to vote for the people's air instead of the polluters wallets
