  • Its an honor to learn FMA because its an indigenous form of fighting art which we as Filipinos learned from our ancestors and FMA like Eskrima, Arnis and Kali evolved from the poor sector of Filipino Society in order to survive.... But as Filipinos, we should learn FMA to keep the ART alive whether we need or not, we still owe to forefathers to continue this Art..

  • @ariscanete Amen to that

  • @TheDocklands123 just for fun dude. its also a good exercise. And who knows, danger is everywhere.

  • Whats the point of learning Kali..its peaceful here in the philippines dude..but yeah maybe in Aemrica..never been there..maybe women should learn Kali to defend themselves.

  • GUYS, THEY ARE GOING TO THE PHILIPPINES TO SHOOT BOURNE LEGACY. YEY

  • @alangname which explains why Bourne knows Kali.

  • THere's no blocking In FMA not like karate, Judo and Ninjutsu. You must attack counter offensive by breaking his Attack or Disarm Enemies Attack.

You can break his Arm, joints, bones in counter offensive position.

  • filipino kali kicks ass..however i didnt know the ancient teaching of reversing an audi a4? :)

  • other hollywood movies that used FMA aside from bourne identity trilogy....book of eli, resident evil apocalypse, the hunted, MI 3, and 'taken' by liam neeson i think has some kali moves...

  • @sgtjoe2008 dont forget HANNA...

  • @TheMrpunisherman Exactly I was just about to say that myself. That interrogation scene where she snaps the female interrogator's neck was brutal!

  • @ATACXGYM You should check out the bar fight from 9th Configuration then.

An odd thing is that mainstream movies have left MA ones miles behind. For example, the wing chun in Sherlock Holmes is a million miles better than the crap in the Ip Man movie

  • @MERVILLE3 9th Configuration? Never heard of it...and the weird thing is that I was just remarking to my friend that while it's clear that Donnie and Sammo would annihilate Robert Downey in a throwdown,it's also clear that Robert's fight scenes were far more functional realistic etc. Than Donnie's in Ip Man was. But Donnie's FLASH POINT is the KING of street MMA+kungfu films and imo won't be equalled or surpassed for generations.

  • @junebug2334 eskrima come from kali, they even though they come from different parts of the fillipins, but in america we use kali to mean eskrima

  • De-Fanging the Snake, a Kali principle, means you destroy your enemy's incoming tools to render him incapable of using that tool again. If he attacks you with a knife, you cut his weapon hand. If he hits you with a stick, you smash his hand. In Kali there is no "blocking." We don't "block" an attack, we smash or cut the incoming hand/arm. Once the Snake is De-Fanged, he is harmless. You can now finish the Snake. It only takes seconds to finish the fight. That's why the CIA etc. uses Kali.

  • @jkdsifu - You seem to know a lot about KM and Kali. I would like to ask you something. I have been thinking of learning 1 of these arts but I cannot make up my mind. Some suggest me KM and some say do Kali. Which one should I prefer? I heard kali is more weapon based and KM is the best hand to hand. I want to learn weapon training but more important I want to defend myself in a hand to hand combat. SO, basically I want to learn both. SO, which one would you suggest?

  • @rahully2j - Kali has both.. Hand to hand and weapon.. you master the weapon, you master the hands.. so to say!... you don't need to practice separately since all movements are the same Weapon and Hands..

  • A major difference between Kali and Krav Maga is that Kali is truly a weapons-based fighting art, which means it starts you with weapons first. Krav Maga is truly an empty-hands based martial art, which means you start with empty hands first and KM people prefer using empty hands. Kali people prefer turning anything into a lethal weapon, rather than going empty handed. See Bourne Indentity for examples. Kali believes in "De-Fanging the Snake" as #1 priority in combat.

  • Kali is made up of every possible type of armed & unarmed combat you can imagine. Kali trains you in how to master the use of each weapon type offensively, as well as disarm that weapon. Kali fighters are #1 at edged & impact weapons, but as you become expert, you train in Empty Hands, which is kicking, boxing, clinching, trapping, and grappling. A Kali man is dangerous at any range empty handed because he uses his hands and elbows like blades. Watch the movie "Hanna" - that's Kali she's doing!

  • basically FMAs are based on triangular and circular motion and body energy conservation,it's the fighting and dancinng styles of ancient filipinos before the Spaniards came, and the weapons are so basic,it's for your everyday life use

  • I personally wouldnt limit myself to just kali or wing chun. JKD is what i am learning which has a little kali and wing chun influence in it

  • wow! how pinoy was that!

it's just so sad pinoys would prefer to learn taekwondo and karate than their native martial art "Kali"

  • in my opinion if you want to win a fight on the street take krav maga or kali, since i like martial arts however i really want to learn kali

  • Modern day boxing originated from Kali. Look it up. Before that we had the Queen's Rule or something like that. There is a piece of trivia for you.

  • @rookieshooter1 - What do you think is better - Krav Maga or Kali? I was thinking to learn 1 of these 2. And, I have seen on other forums that krav maga was used in bourne movies not kali. So, which one is true?

  • @rahully2j "It's the artist, not the art that counts." Krav Maga is really a combination of many martial arts. Krav Maga didn't come up with all their stuff on their own, they borrowed from different arts. But it is the real deal. It only incorporate what really works in combat because they've been at war since the Jewish people left Egypt with Moses. The Jews don't mess around. Kali on the other hand is no slouch either, just ask the Spanish who tried to colonize the Philippines n never did

  • @rookieshooter1 - Oh, thanks for the info bruv. Still, if you had to take any of these 2, what would you prefer? I just can't make up my mind. I heard Kali is more into weapon training and krav maga is for just close combat. I just want to defend myself against multiple attackers or with armed guy, no show off or nothing. So, what would you suggest me?

  • @rahully2j I have experience with Kali through 20 years of Jeet Kun Do. I have no experience with Krav Maga other than seeing their stuff on videos and reputation. You really can't go wrong with either one. But if it had to be one, I would go with Krav Maga only because you don't need to master it to be effective. Kali takes awhile. Good luck on your martial arts experience. I had a great time with it.

  • @rahully2j i take krav maga in a mma gym and its very effective it has stuff like kali in it like defense against weapons from pretty much every situation and it teaches ground fighting and striking and uses a whole lot of dirty fighting it teaches stuff against multiple attackers even if they all have weapons and you will learn to be aware of your sorroundings so you can find an escape route and alot more i havnt learned yet plus it doesnt take that long to learn. kali and krav r both good tho.

  • @curicano1, el tema se llama Extreme Ways por Moby.

  • Twenty years ago when I was in the Army there was a Filipino E-5 in my company. I didn't know anything about FMA at all, but he knew one or some of the FMA martial arts, because he would, very rarely, show off some of the moves, etc. He was a really good guy, good NCO, but just before I got to the unit he was in a bar off-post in Leesville, outside of Ft. Polk, and some redneck hit his Filipino buddy with a bottle. He proceeded to f*ck the guy up along with a couple of his redneck buddies.

  • @valdivia1234567 Sad to say we are losing our best guys to the US, and more Filipinos are into MMA than in FMA. In a self defense seminar I'm proud to say the that the BJJ instructor couldn't even disarm my knife.

  • Best action here ever invented. Thanks to Jeff Imada and the Filipinos.

  • Dude I'm Filipino! Now I feel like i can kick everybody's ass! :D

  • @lastEvergreen Lol yeah man!

Pacquiao needs to learn some of these stuff then he will be invincible!

  • @imeylmibak777 Pacquiao did start with panankutan filipino boxing. It can't be used in the ring though because the ring has rules, and panankutan is not for sport.

  • @imeylmibak777 Pacquiao was trained in panantukan first, he and his hands are so fast because the concept is first taught to attack the knife, to dodge it, to strike at the hand holding it.

  • Not a single movement is wasted

  • were are the fights from the bourn ultimatum where he deals with the people tailing that reporter at the train station?!

  • jason bourne vs Ezio Auditore da Firenze say they were both pitted against echother in unarmed combat who would win

  • Alguien me puede decir como se llama este tema musical de fondo.

  • Matt Damon really kicked some serious ass in these Bourne movies, now what if he was a real martial artist

  • When you look at these fight sequences they really make Matt Damon look good; like he's really an awesome martials arts expert in the league of Bruce Lee. Truth to tell is that when they choreographed these fights it was done in slow motion. Then, during film editing the fight sequences are played fast forward. :)

  • @8javed :)) Rubbish

  • what's the name of the song at the end?

  • This is the reason why I studied Kali.

  • That scene in the bank with the two cops...that looks a lot like Aikido!

  • Wow who knew a freakin' pen could be so deadly

  • What you are seeing here is a demonstration of Guro Dan Inosanto's Kali system - it's fast, it's brutal, and it;s efficient. I believe that Guro Dan's Kali had influenced even the great Bruce Lee's fighting abilities. I can't wait until Kali gets used in MMA and blows everyone away the way BJJ did in the early UFC days. Destructions rule!

  • more like steven seagal

  • Finally! All three fight scenes back -to- back!!! Awesome!!!

  • They should have made a scene where Jason went in a Kali school and fought a master there, who was a former operative like he was.

  • You really have to give credit to Matt Damon for executing these moves so well. Considering he didnt have any martial arts background. Especially since the movements of Kali are so dynamic compared to other martial arts.

  • He's able to fight his attackers off with a newspaper, book, and towel.

  • @kmastakzr And a pen. X)

  • song is called "Keep Hope Alive" by The Crystal Method

  • thats not kali....its panantukan !!!!

  • @MrLennox86 Actually, panantukan is not a separate martial art; it's part of Kali. What you are seeing though is Jeff Imada's choreography. He is a student of Inosanto's Kali.

  • @MrLennox86 yeah ure ryt but panantukan is already a part of the system of filipino kali as well as the knife fighting. . .

  • YEAH!!! WHOOO!!

  • The bad dude brings out a knife, he answers it with a ballpen

  • they should have mma fighters who are skilled in filipino kali, they would kick ass in ufc if they were good at it!!

  • @andflight2

MMA is a sport, kali is lethal and for the street, you won't see someone taking someone down and laying on them in a street fight, wouldn't work, just like using kali in MMA, wouldn't work because it would have to be too watered down and the MMA fighter's only answer to it would be to grab, takedown and lay there.

  • @tasatasat Agree 100%.

  • @tasatasat bzzt! wrong answer. A choke works anywhere. Being dumped on your head would be worse on concrete than it would be in a ring. You'd be smart to have a healthy respect for shooters (wrestlers) on the street. Nonetheless, the distinction is artificial. Now I am doing a MMA move. Now I am doing a kali move. It is ALL movement. Anyways, lookup KALI TUDO here on the site. It's a Dog Brothers video.

  • @andflight2 See, now that's a more balanced view point. Why not? Do it all if you got the time.

  • search "latrago kali" on youtube to get a sense of how it started

  • hohooo, Kali is sick!

  • @yodaone902 can you get to Mottingham or Sidcup?

  • To be exact the style here is Inosanto Kali. In the Hunted they did Sayoc kail

  • @yodaone902 Hi you could try Bob breen Academy Where abouts in london do you live?

  • to my knowlage kali silat doesnt cover submisioins as much as it covers breaks and destructions. to submit is to give up and most of the time these type of fights end in death

  • his kali/silat was impressive when the car fell.. jk great compilation

  • James Bond has AIDs

  • Terrible fight seens. I was so disappointed the first time i saw Borne Identify I said to myself i'd never watch another movie. Every time a punch or kick is thrown the cameras always switch from one to another. Futhremore, the fight seens look to rehearsed like Fishburne & K-Reeves fighting the guys in black with the shades. Terrible, only those who don't know martial arts may get excited watching this.

  • @rickames thats what we call movie-fu... everything is choreograph so its not bad to be excited about fight scenes..

btw learn to spell first before becoming a critic...

  • @useurname123 The only perfect person died & rose again years ago. I will be the man I am without your assesment or opinion. Good-day.

  • Thanks for this vid!

  • that is also hankido

  • i started to practicing kali just because bourne does it XD, i am so immature :S

  • @felipeandresestay

Nothing immature about it, I have practiced a lot of martial arts just from seeing them in movies. My first experience using escrima sticks was after watching The Perfect Weapon. :)

  • Wait... did I just see a flaw in the fight? lol

0:39 ish, wouldn't that be a perfect opening for a crotch shot? That would've ended it quickly lol. But the rest of the fighting is completely flawless lol

  • Bourne would pee on Bond´s face xD

  • best movie fight....

  • I love Kali! If you've ever been in real fights, which I have, it looks just as bloody, messy, dirty, and chaotic as what you see in Bourne films (actually more so). People who think their fights will look "technique-oriented" like they do in most movies have never been in a real situation where the other guys are trying to kill you however they can, and yes it does become a dirty slugfest. But Kali is the real deal!

  • if Bourne fought any other Bond besides Sean Connery or Daniel Craig, he'd destroy them. Bourne has a quickness edge on Connery, but Connery's just a tough-ass who refuses to lose. The Craig bond would give Bourne a good fight.

  • it looks more like miki kado style, hidi yodi kenjo didi kenji kati kato

  • Mental note: if I join the CIA and get in that position at 0:16 , DON'T PULL THE PISTOL WHEN I'M ONLY 2 FEET FROM HIM

    lol

  • kali - lontayao FTW

  • im am not saying kill bill is more realistic, but both this fight and beatrix vs elle end up becoming less technique oriented to a gritty dirty, slug fest

  • "best fight; DESH VS BOURNE

  • faggot

  • Filipino Kali Eskrima rules! its so full contact and efficient.. no fancy unneccessary movements.. practical.. no wonder why the fight scenes in the Bourne series are very realistic and awesome!!

  • @BLaCkKsHeEp i.e. me, i box (style), i can grapple and keep the fight going even if i go to the ground although i lack training (adapt), however im pretty sure ill lose to a BJJ/judoka if he takes me down (skill), if he DOES take me down that is, cuz i usually throw lots of jabs backed by a hard right hand (natural tendency)

    \

  • @BLaCkKsHeEp

if you think about it really, the example can end up in plenty of ways. no one said i cant kick either. u kno what im talkin about?

  • @DeeNaughtyGreenMan i agree. plus kali involves both weapons and free hand, so it doesn't feel awkward when you have a weapon in your hand.

  • @DeeNaughtyGreenMan And the funny part is that I haven't seen any of the movies yet.

  • @DeeNaughtyGreenMan yeah. . . ure ryt man! kali is developed by philippines as well as the filipino boxing, not by Indonesians. . . FMA rules!

  • @DeeNaughtyGreenMan Its the way of taking out your opponent as quickly and as efficently as possible..great fighting style..

  • @DeeNaughtyGreenMan yeah problem is its never PRACTICED in full contact and i've seen people trained in escrima/kali/arnis get beaten to a pulp in street fights because like most Traditional Martial Arts ,...it doesnt train the practitioner how to react when he/she actually gets HIT THEMSELVES. This is why sports based arts such as muay thai, boxing, kickboxing will always be more practical. Before someone says "but they have rules"...so....the rules get left in the ring. Jst my own opinion.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer

Well here is also your problem. Kali, Escrima, and Arnis was never meant to be taught as a SPORT based art...it's a lethal art that will literally kill opponents within a matter of second based on the experience of the Escrimador.

This type of art warded of invading Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese who tried to to conquer the Philippines. And they don't use sticks, they use bolos (machetes).

FYI, training for Escrima is TOUGH. Not everyone can adapt to it quickly.

  • @CyberGTX09 thats wats good about this martial arts u will learn how to defend urself in the street. no fancy movements like any other martial arts.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer u know lapu lapu who use escrima to kill magellan? its not useless if u just know how to use it

  • @LCStreetPhotographer well if mastered this technique u wont be beatin to pulp in street fights. and what do u mean traditional? its a very unique martial arts

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Like any art, there are shite teachers. Ka'li, arnis/eskrima are used every day on the dangerous streets of the Philppines (if you think hte hoods in LA are tough, not in comparison to the mean streets of Manila where life is cheap) and used by the filipino marines in the south of the country fighting their local brand of Al Q'aeda.

  • Tuesdays and thursdays it's LL ABOUT HURTING YOURSELF AND MAKING SURE YOU DON'T GET HURT!!! heh heh!!

  • First off, yeah bourne would beat bond any day. Maybe I haven't seen enough bond videos, but to me it seems that when Craig became the new Bond, they changed up his fighting style to one that resemble the stuff seen in Bourne movies.

One problem though, when Bourne is fighting Desh in the third movie, he punches him with a book over his face. In terms of physics, this isn't a smart move right? The larger surface area of the book would lessen the impact on the face..just a thought.

  • Agreed, but the book does block Desh's vision. It's a major distraction.

  • Good point, didn't think of it in that way. Thanks for the logic.

  • lol very true, and as the other guy said a distraction as well, but also as a defense as well, plus when he uses the spine of the book he presses it against his throat then hammers on it so i guess in that way it could be a useful weapon

  • @UofLmed2013 If you watch the last one isn't covered by the book. It's more like the fight is forcing it. This is something most sparing won't teach you. Me and my brother-in-law often spar in such a realistic way that we run into this all the time. You often can't do the best thing, you just do what you can and try to make it work.

  • for sure daniel craig would beat up matt damon but as characters bourne would beat bonds ass

  • Bourne would fucking pwn bond.

  • In my opinion the Bourne Trilogy has some of the best Martial Arts fighting scene ever in film making !! Period

  • i second that..

  • Taken has some good shit in it also. That was a damn good movie, for practical martial arts also.

  • Ahem... It was all CHOREOGRAPHED you idiot. Matt Damon doesnt know Filipino Kali he's just doing it like he reads lines from scripts, following a preset path. He says it himself, fanboy. I think what he meant was that since Craig is bigger in terms of muscle, he'd inflict more damage, since both of them dont really know any fighting techniques.

  • Actually because of the Bourne movies Matt Damon has continued his training in Kali. He liked it that much, he wanted to continue in it. Just a little piece of trivia for you.

  • @ScarletSnake matt damon did mention that after working with jeff for these movies got him to want to learn it.

  • sick music

  • i think jason bourne could beat james bond in a fight

  • James Bond is a lover not a fighter.

  • Yeah

  • I think so too. But I think in real life, Daniel Craig could probably beat up Matt Damon.

  • Haha yeah right.

You know Matt Damon had to LEARN KALI for this right? What makesy ou think Daniel Craig would "beat him up"?

And to whoever said they THINK Bourne would beat Bond? You think?

  • I KNOW Bourne could beat the living hell out of Bond. ...and every other spy/assassin used in any other movie...all at once.

  • @fmz703 a fight??? wrong... wouldn't call it a fight... Bond would hit the ground before he saw it coming.

  • @nebra well said sir

  • @fmz703 Umm yeah !!!!!!!!

  • @fmz703 james bond is charismatic, jason bourne is badass

  • @fmz703 no doubt with no second hesitation.

  • @fmz703 Dream on.

  • @fmz703 Thats a yes..

  • not sure what song is called.

  • Keep Hope Alive by The Crystal Method.
