Meet the FAN Scout - Part 1/2

I used to hate the FAN but I think I've finally figured out how to aim it right. The first shot usually pushes them away so fast that in order to do at least 100 damage with the second shot, you have to fire it near INSTANTLY after the first shot and have perfect accuracy on your airborne enemy. If you just run right up in someone's face and fire its pretty hard NOT to do high damage with the FAN's first shot and send them flying. The second shot is the kicker

How to fly as Scout:

Running forwards, look down.

Jump and fire with the Force-a-Nature at the same time, use your second jump, and if you have the Atomizer bat, your THIRD jump (3rd jump costs 10hp).

Make sure you reload after you land.

@HiragaSaitoZero That was only possible with the old FaN-version. They changed the physics of the gun in the meantime.

yea im a ranged scout or i will hover right outside of thair best range so its hard to do much to me

my setup

1 scatter-gun/quad pistol (i prefer more ammo than the FAN)

2 BOiNK! atomic punch (im the server alot of the time i need to distract sentrys the boink is more usefull than spy using the electro sapper

3 fish

The only FaN scouts I see now are the ones who run away, firing randomly, running shooting and running away and jumping randomly...

Does the fan have way less spread? Cuz I almost never kill people with the scatter gun with how far away you are. I am on the xbox version though. Did the scout get a buff?

so that's the trick to the FaN:

1st shot: bounce em

2nd shot: close in for a full 100hp damage shot.

(3rd: back-peddle with the pistol spam)

@Treblaine Well it's not that easy anymore since they overhauled the FaN knockback between this video and today. It's still possible, but the knockback nowadays knocks them more backwards instead of just straight into the air like in this video.

Well the Scout is a fleet-footed class. Plus that new sort of jump with the Force-A-Nature does push quite high into the air.

In my opinion, too many of the Scout's unlockable weapons give victims the feeling of "you can't do anything about it" or "you got hit, now you're screwed", which is extremely frustrating.

finally a tf2 video .. I like the force-a-nature but I like to jump a lot while shooting my enemies ... and with the FaN it doesn't work too good , especially with heavy's, that's why I play with the scatter gun

Another thing that scouts (and freakin' EVERYONE) need to stop doing is mashing the 'call medic' button over and over and over and over and over and over and I GET IT YOU NEED HELP SHUT UP

how do you unlock the extra weapons in tf2? I bought the game a couple of weeks ago and now I am an excellent soldier and scout but I never got how to get the unlockables. Also nice video, you are a pretty good scout.
