  • @franky543 Model 2 was amazing for 1993 but it cost about £15,000 compared to a PC at the time costing £1,000 or a console £200.

A Pentium 90 PC in 1994 with £14,000 worth of graphics processors and ram would have destroyed model 2.

  • @SegaAgesTV It's nowhere near comparing a Saturn to a PS3. It's more like comparing a Saturn to a Playstation 2.

Anyway I was talking about Dead or Alive on the PS2, not the arcade. My point was the PS2 is easily able to create VF2 if it was programmed properly, with no loss. This is an emulated conversion so it's poor.

  • I think the fighters just gave me a seisure!

  • Heha! 0:12

  • virtua fighter 2 should be fro download for PSN and XBOX LIVE

  • @theyummysockz basically, all VF games from 1 to 3tb should be rereleased in psn and xbox live

  • i love the fuggin music

  • The graphics on this were not as impressive as say Dead or Alive 2 on the PS2. The moving backgrounds etc are way more complex.

  • Nope. Sega did not rebuild / convert the Model 2 games for PS2. Sega wrote a Model 2 EMULATOR for PS2.

The PS2 emulator is not good enough to perfectly emulate the Model 2 games.

    That's why PS2 Model 2 games are not arcade-perfect.

  • It's not just the colors. It's the texture mapping detail, it is much lower.

  • how do you get this for ps2

  • why aint it arcade perfect on the ps2?

  • They should have released this in europe.

  • i think it's dark because didn't the medium res Model 2 games, such as this one, run on high-contrast CRTs?

  • haha that's how I resolved the issue on my TV, just turn the brightness and contrast up a great deal B-)

  • man find a torrent for this game and get it for free. if u have a mod chip for the Ps2

  • DOES ANY BODY KNOW where i can get this (english version for PS2)!!!!!!?????!!!!!

    please!!!!????

I want this Version my sega satrun doesnt work anymore!

  • They don't have Eng Version. You need to import it. It's called Sega Ages 1600. Good luck find it. I have it, sell to you for 150.00, haha.

  • hahaha no way i know it's a rare game but i already have it for sega saturn il just buy a new one thanks anyway

  • Why don't you get it on PC? It's really cheap and in some cases it actually comes free with the game Crazy Taxi.

  • Do you know of a version of virtua fighter that can run on vista?

  • the ps2 sure can throw around the model 2 graphics really well.. yeah it does look a bit dark and not quite as good as the model 2

  • Aww.. all my fav's got beat up in this intro.

  • Acording to Wikipedia, this version of Virtua Fighter 2 is avaliable for the PS2 but only in Japan as part of the Sega Ages 2500 series.

  • Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? =O

  • I always loved how jacky got "jacked up" at the end, lololl.

  • Me too is very hard to see it

because the opening is very dark

then every. I think is better on the

playstation 3 i think they going

to digitals all the CGI render.

For this classic game. Just like

old movies is digitals then ever

  • not only the colors, but the TEXTURES ALSO, are not 100% in the PS2 version.

  • agreed

  • I think the Saturn version looks better than this brown PS2 version. Why is it brown?

  • they have this SINGILY for PS2?????? OR IS THERE A SECRET CODE FROM 4 OR 4 EVOLUTION???????

  • THIS IS THE ARCADE VERSION.

  • NO it is NOT the Model 2 Arcade version. This is the PS2 version.

    Arcade VF2 looks better.

  • Model 2 games on PS2 are NOT arcade perfect.

they are emulations of Model 2, but lost alot of color & texture quality. therefore, NOT perfect.

  • The graphics in PS version is superb, but isn't there an opening for this one where the characters are in their original clothing?

  • Perfect port for VF2. PC version could be better :(

  • NOT a perfect port.

    1.) it's emulation, not a port.

    2.) it's not perfect.

  • This looks like the only Arcade perfect port.

  • it's not arcade perfect, and it's not a port.

  • Thanks Man Those Damn Japanese hey want to be friends on youtube hit me back bye!

  • Is This Game Available for the PS2 Because if it is than i want to know were i can find it at

  • Yes, it's available but only in Japan.

  • The intros of the PS2 Sega Ages releases of both Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers, and Sonic the Fighters on Sonic Gems Collection have something in common: they bear "Free Play" and the updated "Presented by Sega" boot-up screen. Yes, Sega-AM2 was responsible for the Model 2 conversions.

  • where can I buy this?

  • Please visit Amazon(jp). ^^

  • is this available for PS2?

  • yes

  • How can it be found in PS2?

  • Please visit Amazon(jp).

But the sale of this software is over.

    Look for used goods.

  • polygons are no problem for PS2, but it's clear that PS2 cannot handle the texture-mapping and image quality of the MODEL 2 board.

very significant downgrade from the arcade.

  • oh ya, because VF2 is such a HUGE game that it can't fit into the PS2's 32MB of RAM *sarcasm*

i think you remember it having more textures than it really did.

  • PS2 is more powerful and has more RAM, but, the emulation of VF2 and other Model 2 games, is not perfect. eagle is right.

  • It's also not the amount of textures, but the quality of the textures.

Just because the PS2 can fit more in its 32MB RAM than what Model 2 had, doesn't mean anything in this case, where Sega is having PS2 emulate Model 2.

The textures in this emulated version of VF2 for PS2 is a big downgrade from the MODEL 2 arcade.

  • well i mean you'd think'd use texture compression or something to be able to fit all the textures in RAM and at hi-quality.

also, System16's description of the Model2 board doesn't have a RAM specification for it, so does this mean the game's board's had the RAM on it for every individual game?... hmmm

  • Yes, sky color is different from Saturn.. But, I think the port has some technical "pros and cons".. Con: Sky colors seem too "bright" (i.e. brightness on the source / youtube convert is too high).. But, also, on the Pro side, the polygons don't disappear on the downed Jacky at the end of the intro (like they do on the Saturn).. Thanks for posting this!

  • Drunken guy looks a bit floating over the floor. Port glitch?

  • nope. he's always been like that.

  • Hello!

    I use RGB-cord other than S-video cord.

After all, in comparison with original VF2, colors felt it darkly.

I think that PS2 cannot express the clear blue sky of "Model 2". (T_T)

    thank you!

  • Hi.. I have this for Sega Saturn.. To answer your question of "you think the screen is slightly dark", well, honestly, alot of PS2 games appear pretty dim via regular composite video cord (s-video helps somewhat).. maybe its just me, but, like I said, many ps2 games are 'darker' than their ported-counterparts.. peace out ;)

  • or maybe someone just sucks at capturing and playing with color settings >_>
