Anyone can do a Wrestling style Hiptoss, but to do it with a Sweet and remain in complete control to instantly transition to an arm bar... Well, It's a little bit Different.

I've never practiced Judo, but from my Background in BJJ and my understanding of Juijitsu, Aikido and Judo... she has very good technique and remains Graceful whilst doing it

"Deadly Judokas" - it all depends on the Judo practioner. For the most part, Judo doesn't focus on attacking the vital areas of the body (organs, etc.). Chokes and strangles are also covered in Ninjitsu, Ju-jitsu, Hapkido, etc. The majority of the techniques in Judo are not deadly, but can subdue/disable someone.

all the true deadly moves in judo have been discarded when Kano "cleaned" the moves. That's why sambo is much more effective now. The wrestling part of judo is still there and you can do all the submissions u want. In judo u cant attack the legs (submission), if u try to slam ur opponent when u're in his guard, the combat stops and u stand back up.. really judo WAS deadly, but not anymore.

And I wonder what Dr. Kano would say about modern Judo, especially the sport aspect. Honestly he would probably be disgusted. As far as leg locks go I don't know about competition but who says you can't use them when training or in a fight on the street. I know that when training my sensei shows us things that may not be legal in a competition but are part of traditional judo. Things like slamming are fine but do you really want to injure your training partner?

Maybe he would. And for the leg locks, I've been warned many times to not do it while we train. Of course I wasnt really applying em since you feel the pressure only when it's too late (when the joint starts breaking). And when I was talking about slams, I wasnt talking about big slams like we do in wrestling or in sambo, but I'm talking about a small slam from the ground to break his guard. Even that is illegal since it's sooo dangerous. Don't worry, there's not much injuries either in sambo.

we're not maniacs, we all wanna go home after the lessons, and we do respect each other. The only thing is that there's less unusable stuff in a street fight like in judo, and the techniques are more straight forward.
