I imagine a pig would make a great pet. They're socable and don't need much maintenance. Plus, their reputations as mega-omnivors make them a good form of organic waste disposal. Just think of howmuch landfill could be saved by giving table scraps to the house pig. And if you've got a garden patch, its plenty of free manure! I would say that a pig is an essential element for some wishing to make the most of the Recyle/Organic lifestyle.
LOL - What a funny video. Don't know how I missed this one; but glad I found it. Was most entertaining to view. Needed something to laugh about after a long hard day's worth of work - like we had today. I used to feed wild feral cats from the woods and one day looked out and there was the ugliest dog I had ever seen eating their food - only it was a big fat wild boar. I took photos of him to prove to my landlord at the time that he had one visiting his apartment complex. ~ Patty

This really made me smile.. and in parts I was laughing.. especially the run beside the truck.. no not a horse.. a pig that likes the run along side. Then when he rounds the corner for the home stretch.. lol.a little thirsty and tired after eh.. I love this Robert. Going into my Animals playlist.. too cute. I think Porky looks like quite a character. Its great having others in this film as well.. your wife Gayle for one.. what memories for you. Thanks for the smile..good job on this!Enjoyed lots
@RoryNights Gosh Christine...that is such a sweet comment!! Thank you so much!!
I appreciate you watchin this video and I watched it again this morning because I saw your comment! Thinkin about your comment as I was watchin, kind of choked me up! Now I really am cryin a bit...I sure do miss Gayle!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Cristine!! This means a lot to me!!
Your very welcome Robert. I really enjoyed this a lot. I'm watching again too and like the part of Gayle giving Porky a rub.. so cute. I know you miss her a lot.. it shows. I think you were/are a lucky man to have had a beautiful soulmate as your wife. Wow this video is meaningful :)
@cov01crew Hey Man, thanks for tunin in to my video here!! I sure appreciate it!!
Yeah, my best guess as to Porky's weight is 400 lbs!! Something like that...I don't think it's any less than that! Haha!! Thanks for the comment too man!!
@momto8kiddos Haha!! Your too cool!! That was great! No, he can't get on the couch no more!! Haha!! And yeah, his weight has slowed him down a bit but, he'll still follow us around, but not for as long!! lol!! Thanks, that was GREAT comment!!
@LoneStarCreekRanch That was me on my wife's (momto8kiddos) computer! BTW her nickname is a bit out of date, as we have 10 kids now! Anyway, we'd love to see more video of 400-lb Porky if you ever get the chance! I'll bet he doesn't like this heat too much :-)
@thewisetroublemaker Hey Thank you man!! Sorry it took me so long to get back here! I didn't realize that you had watched here, but I sure appreciate it!! Thanks for the comment too!!
Hey, thanks for that comment! Porky would appreciate it!! lol!!
Yeah, they are very intelligent and DO have their own personalities for sure!! Porky is not like a dog or some other Pet...he's smart and you can tell!!
Hey, thanks so much for watchin!! Porky really is a special animal! I really care for him a lot!
Porky seems to prefer the Winter more than the Summer. We have a small shelter for him to escape rain, wind & other weather conditions, but he doesn't use it much! We have a carport at the ranch and this is his favorite place to hang out! Even with cars parked under it, he still finds away to make room for himself!! LOL!!
I sure appreciate the comment, the 5 stars and thanks again for watchin!!
That was really fun watching Porky making his rounds. That's pretty neat he came to you from the wild. What a cool pet! I always love the commentary. 5 stars from me. I've been having some computer problems, so I haven't been able to upload anything. Hopefully, before too long, I'll be able to post some deer hunting footage I took on a farm here in Missouri.
I love this video. What a wonderful pig he is and you have provided a happy and healthy environment for him. The part of him making happy noises when he was getting a rub down was very cute.
Yeah, Porky's pretty cool! I went to your channel briefly to see if you had videos of your sow! I didn't see any, but looks like you got some good stuff there, so I'm gonna go watch some more!
Thanks for the comment, the fave and thanks for watchin!
Hey man, my kid and I are haveing fun watching Porky run, another good video, glad we found your channel you have a nice bunch of well made videos, makes me want a better camera, better software and more talent!
That was the ultimate compliment my friend! I don't know how to thank you!
I'm glad I found your Channel!! It' neat to find others with similar views on life! Keep up the great work your doin and thanks for tunin in, I really appreciate it!
Super!! Your vids are good, and this one is no exception. I heard that hogs out scored chimps on intelligence testing. Just like kids, hey? How they're raised and treated, pretty much dictates how they'll turn out. Porky is destined to become a lot of peoples favourite.
Hey man, Thanks for tunin in!! Yeah, he's smart all right! I think I've been out smarted a time or 2! lol!! He has not given us any reason to be harsh, so, like you say, how they're treated dictates how they turn out! And he's pretty cool!! Thanks again for watchin and for commenting!!
It really is amazing how smart pigs are and how attached they can get to you. Even with the pigs that I raised in high school, they would get to know you and look for you to come and play.
He has been a really neat pet. Very gentle and friendly. But boy he's big now and he's a boar so his cutters are comin in! But even so, he is allways happy to see us and is great pet!! Hey I apprreciate you tunin in!
Yeah, those tusks get pretty gnarly. Have you considered cutting the eyeteeth as a preventative measure or will they just regrow? I am having trouble remembering that from ag class as we never had tusk problems with ours...
You know, I'm thinking they can be removed and won't grow back!! I'm not sure! But it is something that is on my mind much more frequently now! He can cut you on accident! They are that sharp!
See if the local high school has an ag program, I am certain the instructor if such a program knows how to remove the teeth and the class would love a demonstration. Free for you, educational for them, everyone wins. Just an idea. :)
Oh man, What a great idea!! That's it!! I'm gonna look into that!! I've been lookin at your channel!! Interesting thing you got goin on there! I'll stay tuned and thanks for your help!!
It doesn't seem normal to me!! He really put on the pounds quick!!! He eats almost anything, however, when there ain't no leftovers, we feed him "Show PIG" feed and I think that stuff is what beefs him up!! Thanks for watchin!!!
