  • I fell asleep playing this in an emulator after watching this i woke up and it was morning =/

  • I love Star Wars Arcade, it's alot of fun!

  • I like this game. How could you! Lol. jk. Actually this is the main reason i am going to purchase a 32X.

  • This game looks sooooooo boring. I am getting it as a freebie with a bunch other games, even thought I dont have a 32x.

  • The problem with a review like this is that it's not really a review of the game; it's a review of a guy fumbling around in a game he's never played, and when it doesn't hook him in 10 seconds it turns into 9 minutes of "bored suck fuck this sucks blah blah blah". How many people do you actually believe go to Youtube looking for this?

My suggestion would be to learn how to play the game and if it "sucks", explain why in the context of similar games from that period. That would be interesting.

  • Aw, I thought this was going to be a video of the Star Wars arcade game (played at 32X speed, or something). Never disparage that game!

Star Wars Arcade on the Sega 32X? It's a trap!

  • Star Wars Trilogy Arcade is Better than Star Wars Arcade.

  • It's difficult to imagine how this could be the game that saved the 32X in 1994 holiday season. It's not bad, just tedious. Starfox offered more variety despite the inferior graphics. Super Star Wars was a much better game and you didn't need to buy and add-on to play it.

  • The game's not boring. But it's impossible. I can get to the Death Star battle, but then every enemy fighter onslaughts me and I die. You can't get through that level.

  • You can never review retro games objectively unless you are consciously taking into account the technical and scope limitations for the time period, which requires significant knowledge of gaming history. You should also have appreciation for the genre. I don't watch football, for instance, so it would be pretty ridiculous of me to post a review of any Madden game, and even more ridiculous for anyone to take me seriously.

Such is the case for this video.

  • This game sucks and I like how the reviewer was humorous about it. I had 32x when it first came out. The only game I liked was Doom.

  • "I play this boring game and get really bored while doing it. "

And gosh golly gee your boring as hell doing it

  • Why does Admiral Ackbar sound like the Terminator?

  • I got my 32x today and this came with it.... I don't mind the game but it gets pretty boring

  • oh dam you have that one lol

  • HOLY FUCK the flashback music for the theme

  • That's the Sega CD startup music. Sounds vaguely reminiscent of the Flashback theme though I guess.

  • I finally destroyed the Super Star Destroyer but I challenge anyone to provide video proof, without any cheats, of destroying the Death Star. It cannot possibly be done and this game cleard my conscience of EVER using a cheat code/disk.

  • I did it one in two player completely legit. Single player...not a prayer in hell.

  • The game is not boring at all! It a very nice arcade game with decent graphics for the time it released in home consoles. I have finished the game and you should practise more to finish it yourself. Anyway the whole idea is shooting! Its a classic arcade shooting game man.

  • The actual arcade is better

  • Is it based on the original arcade game, or is it based on a moree recent one.

  • As apocalypse1280 said, it's an *arcade* game. Therefore it's designed to keep you throwing quarters at it in order to get to the really rewarding levels, where you fly through the interior of a Super Star Destroyer and then on to the Death Star trench. It's a shame you didn't manage to get that far, but practice makes perfect.

  • This game isn't bad. There's a reason why it's called "Star Wars Arcade", it's a port of the arcade game. WTF did you expect it to be? The second level had big massive ships, nothing like the first, and you say "it's the same shit". This "review" reminds me of a fat, 5 year old retarded kid.

  • Did you whip out the enemy fighters?

  • the letters look like squiggle vision from Dr Katz

  • continue? Fuck no, good bye.

  • Tie Fighter 95 had better graphics. What a sweet load of horse shit.

  • FFS! Tie Fighter 95 was released a year later on a PC, which in those says cost more than ten times what a 32X cost.

  • Good thing I picked Shadow Squadron for 32X instead of Star Wars Arcade.

  • Yeah I like Shadow Squadron I was going to do a video for it but never did. You should and make it a response to this video.

  • there is a star wars game coming out in september 08 called star wars the force unleashed the systems it on are ps2, ps3, psp, xbox360 , wii & ds

  • I had fun with the game, but it was quite boring after awhile.

Just be sure to use a joystick xD

  • COOL

  • yay, look at those letters in the intro jiggle around! oh yeah!

  • Be careful, it's a trap!

  • Geat game, very hard final levels on 32X mode and arcade. NO! games are this hard these days. So I respect this old game

  • XD i like the shirt i am the stig lol top gear

  • A great review, like always!!! Knuckles Chaotix and Virtua Fighter are good too!

  • lol the intro is pretty great with the simpsons type letters!

  • The intro is cool and all but I think it's a little too lengthty :(

  • Dude you should get Knuckles Chaotix and also Sonic CD

  • Hey MN12BIRD. If you get a chance. Would you mind doing a review of Knuckles' Chaotix for me? That would be awesome.

  • wow, looks like a good game... *cough"crap..."*

  • wipe out enemy fighters... wipe out enemy fighters... wipe out enemy fighters

  • Yeah the game is boring... but it's an arcade and most of arcade games are like that...

    Anyway that's 3 videos in a row , what's the occassion ( spelled it wrong ( it think )) .

  • *spelt

  • the 32x sucked something over! lol but in my eyes its not the worst system/add on, i think its the virtual boy but thats just me lol, awesome vids tho man

  • Meh I like the 32X just not the lack of good games for it. The system itself is pretty good!

  • But yeah VB was a retarded pile of crap. I actually had one too!

  • and the soo many cords has to suck too lol

  • Hey, that game truley is fucking shit! Reminds me y I didnt buy the 32x back in the day. Question: Have you ever played any of those "Sega CD-32X games"? Are they just a gimmick? Im thinkin about picking up a 32x...but theres like 2 good games for it.

  • I've seen a few. Makes sense to me. The extra storage of the CD with the extra processing power of the 32X! Could have made some KILLER games with that combo but I don't think they did.

  • Oh before anyone comments. I'm NOT turning into an AVGN rip off. I wouldn't normally play a game I don't like but as it was one of my holy trinity of 32X games and I was so excited to find a copy I just had to review it anyway!!

  • Question: do you use your model 1 in combination with your 32x? I don't have a conversion cable, so I'm basically hard wiring the thing together.

  • LOL yeah I do but I have the conversion cable. I use it on my Master System also as it lets me use the Model 2/32X video cables on it.

  • Lucky. Those model 1 to model 2 conversion cables go for a ton on ebay, and since I flat out refuse to use a model 2, I have to macguyver these things. My 32x doesn't work worth a crap unfortunately.

  • I got 2 for $5 at a pawn shop and he had more! We denied it once he saw how gitty I was to buy them for $2.50 each like he caught on. Why not use a model 2? All but only the first variations of the Model 2 (there are variations to the mainboard on the model 2) have great sound quality. Or is it some other reason? Early Model 1s have the BEST sound quality of all but only the real early versions they usually say "High Definition Graphics" or something like that on the top.

  • Sorry "He" denied it not "We" lol. He had crap loads of em lying all over the floor behind the counter! I crack a big smile when he says "$2.50" each as he pulls 2 stuck together with some other random cables. I ask "How many more of these do you have?" and he says "none" and I look on the floor and say "What about those ones?" and he says "uh they aren't for sale" lol I would have bought them ALL!!

  • There's just something more special about the model 1, I always wanted one growing up, but I got a model 2, which was fine at the time, but I still always wanted the original, especially with an original Sega CD model 1. All of the extra stuff on it like headphone jacks and the slider made it look like some high tech sci-fi device of doom while the model 2 just looked plain to me.

  • Oh I agree I went out of my way to make sure the first Genny I picked up was a Model 1. For collector purposes I feel it is more "Classic" and all that jazz. I got my model 2 later.

  • dude can i buy one

  • First comment yay! I love your vids.
