  • this same thing happemed to horus horus 2000 years b4 it hppened to jesus, wierd!

  • @maiitralala41 Sure it did... zeitgeist is meant for atheist children, yes? Have fun with that. Just sayin' ;)

  • Exodus 20:16 "Thou shalt not bear false witness."

Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."

    vs.

I Kings 22:23 "The Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee."

II Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

  • There's a great story about the filming of Duke Wayne's scene; he did it just as in the film here, and director George Stevens wanted another take, saying, "Duke, you're looking at the death of Christ Himself, put more awe into that line." Next take, Wayne said "Awwww, truly this man was the son of God."

  • themselves sacrificially for for love for people and power-hungry prophet

  • Truly this man was the Son of God, pilgrim.

  • Why is everybody so quiet? This scene plays really weird without crowd noises.

  • jesus was a jew, like me :D

  • tho Jesus died for us he still lives in our hearts.

  • Verdi would giggle at the use of his music.

  • Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us this life and i hope some day to join you in your Kingdom of heaven and be with you. oh thank you Lord Jesus, I love you.

  • @matthewwakian2 Thanks. Shame really because these actors knew how to act. Compare today actors they are awful.

  • what did John Wayne said?

  • @19GirlBad Truly this man was the son of God. The film was criticized a lot for his casting.

  • Indeed the greatest STORY. Just a story. !!

  • Truly this was the worst miscasting in history.

  • @clearly Not too bad now a lot of the stars have faded, you can see the characters.

  • @matthewakian2 I meant John Wayne as a Roman, what we're they thinking of?

  • @clearly. I remember seeing this film for the first time on my 12th birthday and reading the TV listings with all those famous actors. That turns out to be the films undoing. It is said this flop caused the end of Hollywood Biblical epics. Jesus of Nazareth parts 1 - 4 did a much better job.

  • @matthewakian2 It was bad enough this year. We got Ben Hur again,Barabus again and last week another showing of Quo Vadis. I took me ages to find this John Wayne clip because I'd forgotten which movie it was from. I'm not religious at all but I liked a good Biblical drama. The robe was the first movie in cinemascope, did you know that?

  • @clearly I sure did. I'm a nerd when it comes to biblical epics. I saw a DVD version of the Robe where the producer Frank Ross was boasting about this in a trailer. I think the biblical epic will make a come back one day, just like Westerns and Superhero films, but please no all star casts!

  • @OsamaBinLooney It was Ben-Hur

  • God how is it with all Jesus movies the acting is dreadful and everything is wrong the only Jesus movie worth watching is the passion of the christ

  • i love the part when the guard at the end at around 9:26 says

"truly this man was the son of god" with such poor acting skills like a middle school student trying to be clint eastwood. lol

  • @zezimashelpr That is John Wayne.

  • @hoofpick8

truly this man was the son of a pilgrim..

  • Ah why did the Romans treat him that way thats sad and it gets me mad when they laugh at him and whipe I always yell at the Romans "Leave him alone you bastards!

  • i love when jesus says " today ,you will be in paradise!" i hope the same is for me ,when i close my eyes ,in this world!

  • i cant help not to cry , watching this movie. thankyou jesus for your sacrifice, so that we can be able to join you ,in heaven, after this world! i love you Jesus!

  • @kenny9048 Don`t count on it. There is no heaven nor hell.

  • Two more glaring "problems" with this movie: according to the Scriptures, Judas hangs himself - not by self-immolation and in Roman times, the wrist considered part of the hand. As in crucifixtion, a [human] body's weight would cause the palm's flesh to tear just before the body fell from the nails; but if the nails were driven between the radius & the ulna, then the body would hang for several days. Read "The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel.

  • @elchicho25

One of the titles of Jesus is "Man of Sorrows."

  • Bless you for uploading this film

  • The music is Verdi's Requiem -- very haunting and moving.

  • This is the reson why we celebrate Easter! Not the easter bunny! He died for us!

  • idolatry

  • what is the name of the music that is playing in this scene?

  • Oh, Bullshit! John Wayne?

  • This is my favourite bit where Judas does a belly flop into the pit of fire and John Wayne in a mini skirt utters the immortal line - quoted below - in a drunken Texas drawl.

  • Agreed Jesus of nazarath is a much better film than this one, because the scenes look rather bland & the acting is kinda uninspired.

  • Jmmanuel was actually his real name

  • 2 months, 9 weeks, 73 days till christmas.

  • Oh boy, John Wayne just HAD to ruin it all with his inappropriately grouchy delivery of "Truly this man was the son of God", rendering it unintentionally funny for a moment !

  • @Totalpranny, there is a story of this on the VCR to this movie, in which the director told John Wayne after many takes, "give us some awe", to which Wayne responded, "Aw, truly this man was the son of God!" True story...of course, John Wayne was more of a cultural icon than an actor.

  • @4562deedee1: Eeheeheehee! ROTFL! Somebody please tell me they managed to save that awful film take, oh please oh please. "Aw, truly this ma-yan was the son of Gawd..." Priceless, heretical and unintentional comedy.

  • @4562deedee1: Thanks for sharing that story about John Wayne -- you had me in stitches! LOL

  • 9:25 John Wayne is the centurion!

  • HOLY CRAP! This movie was boring! lol Jesus of Nazereth (1977) was the best one by far... this Jesus look drunk and bored

  • @elchicho25

One of the titles of Jesus is "Man of Sorrows."

  • 6:33 Cue the Third Day song!

  • jm I just watched a blessed Movie and does have A few errors in it, but only 21 comments on it. This tells me there is something wrong here. I posted a reply to it and in a day or so I see not my reply ! Lord are you tring to tell someone something ?

Blessed be your will oh LORD !

  • Something ironic: Max Von Sydow who plays Jesus is now an agnostic.

  • @Templier90 robert powell " jesus of nazareth "does not believe either.

  • The soundtrack here is unbelievable and something to admire.

  • Gosh I can't imagine that I mean when they hammered Jesus !!!! It hurt me and I closed my eyes I love u lord

  • 09:25 Greatest line ever!

  • ha ha john waynes a roman in this film not his usual role and u can tell but nowhere near as bad as some of the actors in the last temptation of christ mafia style judas says to jesus u were my brother u broke my heart i disown u proper mafia style or david bowie as the gay pontious pilate ground control to pontious pilate but jesus is much more human than in this film where jesus is superhuman but in reality he was a man with the spirit of god in him he was not god they r 2 different beings

  • 2:38 notice a cross in the sky?

  • I am so blessed this film.

  • I don't know if many of us would have had the courage to help out Christ with the cross.

  • The Pharisees are not Jews, the Talmud was writing by the Pharisees = the orthodox Jews. The word Pharisees comes from the word Pharis = Pharsia = Iran. The Persians conquered Jerusalem in 450 BC and exiled the Jews and sat on Moses chair and falsely claimed to be Jews. They modified Gods Law the Torah. The Pharisees crucified Jesus, not the Jews. The Pharisees conquered the church of Jesus also and killed his disciples.

  • Jesus is my Lord, great video

  • The moment at 4:30 when Judas falls into the fire is subtle, excellent scripting. Very striking and surprising.

  • John Wayne actually was in this Movie! He was the Roman Soldier who said at the ft of the cross " This MAN truly is the SON of GOD"

  • When CHRIST ask's "MY GOD MY GOD, WHY HAVE THOU FORSAKETH ME?" Is the Moment when all the sins of the world were put upon CHRIST. When the face of GOD turned away and suffered unmentionable pain and suffering NO one on earth ever beared. That is when satan FATE was sealed and SALVATION was guaranteed to all of MAN. Through our Free will & GOD'S love, we will live forever when JESUS CHRIST returns! BLESSED BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! CHRIST HAS RISEN! Now satan await your fate. Your time is short!

  • @NFitalianGuy I couldn't have said it any better myself

  • This the moment that satan's ( doesn't deserve caps ) fate was sealed. GLORY BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! GLORY BE TO JESUS CHRIST MY LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR! & GLORY BE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD ALMIGHTY! PRAISE TO THEE OH GOD, FATHER OF US ALL! PRAISE GOD AND ALL THE WORKS OF HIS HANDS! THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE!

  • Max von Sidow is an exelent actor! He represent the mentality and soul of Jesus in this film

  • I LOVE U JESUS !!

  • +Infinity

  • Truly the greatest most wonderful story ever told. Never was so much done for so many. The suffering endured was unimaginable. The saddest thing of all is that this is all but forgotten by most, including our illustrious clergy, so many of whom relegate this to fantasy.

  • lord i offer my life to yo... :(

  • Trouble shall not rise up the second time.

Blessed be the name of YHWH.
