I've always disliked 'ravers', and much more the 'modern ravers'. But dammit, this song (along with a lot of other late 80s/early 90s acid hose songs) is too amazing for description. So soulful...
Well you're right the first time. It's Acid House and is Rave but nowadays Rave is considered to be shitty Hardcore music in England. Songs like this needs to be brought back into Dance
Songs from the 80s are bound to change because of high tech decks and synthesizers these days,, for arguments sake,, if you take one of the latest House songs such as Eric Prydz Pjanoo,, it would have actually sounded a lot like this track in the late 80s early 90s because of the old synthesizers.
Although just imagine if 808 State updated this track as the Pacific 707/State 2009,, as Acid House,, this would be today's House music all over again xD
@TezzaBrahh Meh, more like a techno/trance style going on here. Acid House is more repeating style. Hence Chicago, the birth place of that boring style. I never liked House music.
@epics7 This is Acid House. House is very diverse. There's Chicago House, Deep House, Acid House, Progressive House, and much more. Techno is repetitive with short build ups and Trance sounds like it's always progressing. Also Techno and Trance have other sub genres. And there are DJs out that aren't purist who mix up their styles and that's why people end up saying that, "this is House, no... more like Trance, etc". Ppl should learn more about EDM genres so that they know which is which.
@OmarDelfinity I know about the history of House, Techno etc. I was around before and when it started. If you listen to this sound as well as some Techno Detroit, they have a House style to it. I'm from Detroit, the city that gave birth to Techno and know about the relationship that the originators had with Frankie Knuckles etc. BUT, early and original Techno is electro funk and less fusion with House and is more like the east coast. This song is more like a techno/rave style big during the 90
@epics7 I know about House(early 80s), Techno(mid 80s), and Trance(early 90s) history as well. House and Techno are originated by Afro-Americans. How do you prove that this is techno just because it sounds like it, what about it's rhythm and pattern (it could have House patterns to it)? 808 State is a British EDM group, they got their stuff from those DJs in the US. 808 State is known for house, techno, acid house, and rave. So likely, this is a fusion of House and Techno.
@TezzaBrahh Rave is anything like House, Techno, and Trance. Rave defines dance/electronic parties that plays such music. This is Acid House, you're right.
i would LOVE to see a remix of this to bring in the new decade. We are only 3/4 of a year away holy balls man. glitch is as old today as this song was old WHEN YOUTUBE STARTED roughly. Time for the vibes and good technology of late 80s to meet the REALLY good technology and even better software of today. Not that this song isn't special sauce and unicorn drops on its own in my eyes :D
Yeaa you're right. But what I meant by "most commonly known,," is that today it would prefferably be known as Pacific State if youu get my drift? Although Pacific 202 (I think..) was the original?

It would be nice but compared to today's material it somewhat looks primitive.

@TezzaBrahh More like techno and trance. House has a distinct style, which I don't like. Think Chicago.

Try searchin for Pacific State rather than Pacific 707. It's most commonly known as Pacific State : )

It's commonly known by many names and many different remixes - not just Pacific State.
