  • awwwwww :))) so cute how he translated for her.

  • THESE KIDS NEEDED TO THANK THE HOST. GUESS THEY WERE NEVER TAUGHT AT HOME !

  • @MyDGU You're right, I doubt they were taught Red Carpet Etiquette in the slums you witnessed in the movie. Come to think of it, how many American child stars are? Only the ones that were BRED for stardom. I, for one, appreciate a their unspoiled minds.

  • And you guys didn't call them oh so adorable if you walked through the streets of India, having to tell them to leave you alone because you don't want to give them your money.

  • @killercroc89 now don't go spoiling people's unreality that keeps them from doing anything that would really improve the world. hollywood's got them right where they want them putting the cash in those studio's & top star's pockets w/o someont like you pulling back any curtains to show something as ugly & inconvenient as truth, not that you could dispell generations of hollywood brainwashing anyhow, but you needn't remind people that they've bought in to all that sick hypocrisy as well.

  • Funny to see how people start getting interested in poor people as soon as they become international stars.

  • there soo happy! <3 it's cute 3 more years

  • thats cool

  • The kids are so cute

  • these kids are adorable

  • cutee !!

  • love them!!!

  • wow i love these kids.......

  • look at how the man skipped the little girl i think her name is rubina

  • sooooo cute

  • They are all so cute.

  • both those girls are gonna grow up to be beautiful

  • ok they never ask the little girl her name...

  • lol...1:09 to 1:12 lil Salim(Azharudin whisperiing to Rubina)..."English bol nah" which means "try to talk in English"

  • @joeldsilva

Thanks for that. Ha Ha! I never noticed it till you mentioned it. That was cute and awesome! :)

  • lol...1:09 to 1:12 lil Salim(Azharudin whisperiing to Rubina)..."English bol nah" which means "try to talk in English"

  • Oh and teen Salim on the very left wasn't even in the shot until the end.

  • WTH that douchebag didn't even ask the name of the little girl.

  • awesome movie, very nice acting and superb direction. but why is india so proud of its slums?

  • @killintymm they are as proud of their slums as the US is proud of its gang violence. either way, there are still excellent movies pretaining to both

  • @poketcg us is not proud of gang violence as all democratic countries should be. why do you think they are ?

  • :D they´re so cute!

  • @yellow, the little boy who plays salim lost his home because he didnt had money anymore. I read that on Yahoo News so its probaly true. sorry for bad english xD

  • LOL HE FORGOT THE LITTLE GIRL

  • So cute ^^

  • OMG, he skipped the little girl for her name, probably just a mistake, felt so bad for her...i think her name is rubina i think her last name is ahli

  • So does little Jamal also come from the slums of Mumbai? I assume not. Considering he speaks such fluent English, I would think that he is educated and comes from at least a middle class family from Mumbai. I know that little Salim lives in the slums of Mumbai and soon to move into a better home.

  • yeah he's middle class. only little salim and little rubina are slum kids..

  • @JohnnyCreampuff

Yup..thats right.. he does come from a middle class backgroud. It only youngest Salim and youngest Latika who come from the Slums. But many kids even in those slums do go to school. Not the best schools but schools nevertheless.. People want their children to get an education and improve their station. Even in slums.

  • Rubina said something at the end she said "thank you bye". she speaks a little bit of english and she is very shy

  • AHHHH!!! theyr sooo cuteeee

  • my mistake, Azharuddin isn't the youngest. He's the one standing with Rubina and not talking... because they never went to proper school they don't speak english like the other kids do.

  • nooo Azharuddin can speak english....Rubina is the only one who cant

  • Now she can. Dev confirmed it on The View

  • I think little Salim was the best in the movie.

  • me too, he is brilliant

  • whats happened to the money they made (the kids) and their families?

  • The guy doing the interview is a fucking Dick for skipping poor little Latika.

  • She doesn't speak English.

  • because she probably didnt go to school and wasnt taught it

  • I adore every single one of these kids! They are all so talented. They MADE the movie. I'm so happy they got to be there!

  • They forgot the little girl :[

  • How old is the 2nd kid who plays Jamal in The movie? and The 2nd girl who plays latika?? I WANNA NO D; .. :D

  • they are both 13 i think

  • those kids are soooo cute! haha<3 so happy for them because they went to the oscars

  • his kids deserve something from holywood... with out them huh!!? do you think this movie had reached that far... wake up you fuckin people

  • I like those kids

  • Character, class and good manners cost nothing and it's everything that makes a person.

    These kids have it all.

  • you ignorant fuck, theyre kids having fun ffs, not highly trained PR pros and I'm sure theyre so concerned with how unclassy they appear.

you could never win any argument with these sorts of opinions.

  • you're really stupid.

  • at their young age, they went from the gutters of mumbai to hollywood.

when you were their age, you were still pissing your pants.

  • yeah and unfortunately, they are back in the gutters T_T what a sad world.

  • The two youngest kids auditioned to be in the movie like the rest of the cast, were chosen and came from a SLUM. This is knowledge to anyone who has watched the news. Google Rubina or Azharuddin. The Jai Ho foundation was created by Danny Boyle (director) to give kids in Rubina and Azhar.'s place more opportunities for better life. Whatever money these kids got though has been spent, they went back to their slums after their short stint of fame, and have yet to go back to school.

  • not true....little latika and little salim are from the slums and were picked to be in the movie when they were still living in the slums

  • No they do come from slums.

  • I dont think they are back to the gutters, I think I read somewhere they have a decent home and also have a trust fund with LOTS of money that their parents cant touch

  • faggot

  • Yo Normandude !What the heck are u sayin'?these kids are cool and they were great in the film.-_-(suckeeeeeer)

  • Naughty little Jamal, elbowing Rabeena!

  • It's the retarded people in the world like you who teaches kids that "its not okay to have fun and be happy"

and to live by rules that make you apparently "classy" that takes away your originality and practically the fun out of life.

lol suck it up, bitch because these kids have more class than you'll ever have .

  • hi "normanosbourne23", yeah you have no life if your putting up comments no one even cares about on youtube. and by the way bud, there just excited

    just saying loser (=

  • get tae fuck norman, yea probably a fat fuck sittin on yon fat arse

  • maybe you watched a different video? because in the video i watched, the kids politely answered the questions and it was obvious that they were absolutely thrilled and humbled to be on the red carpet... the only time they talked over each other was when they were thanking the interviewer.

  • these kids are fucking 8 year olds dude and they are from the slums and they had a chance to go to the oscars how the fuck are these kids not going to be uppity?

  • hahaha...hindi english translation was gud :D

  • the little ones are soooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute

  • oh i feel bad for her... but not bad bad cuz shes at the oscars but i.... dont like interviewer

  • love the accent hehe...kids r cute!

  • yah i knw..i noticed that too..

  • Haha! Oh, that poor girl. They were all trying to help her. And the Little "Jamal" was like, "She doesn't speak English."

  • i love how the older ones translate for the little ones who dont speak english....adorable!

  • ya me too. its so cute

  • little jamal is nice :) and i love salim too

  • hahahahhah omg i noticed that too

  • haha that was so cute

  • They're really adorable !! The older girl who plays Latika (TanVi Lonkar) is pretty and the others are so smart. Nice Nice.

  • I just saw Slum Dog for the second time, it is even better watched twice. I have seen this kind of poverty in Egypt, every American should see the suffering and deprivation, and see what dignified and good humanity exists there. We have not idea, no idea, how fortunate we are. I hope some good comes to the people in the slums of Mumbai from this movie.

  • shouldn't it be every person not just every American?

  • hahah, it's cute how they all keep interupting each other because they're so

    excitied to be there:)

  • Ooooh my god they're so adorable! Congrats, what an opportunity!

  • These kids make India Proud.

Rich or Poor. Character and class is everything.

  • How is it any less racist when you call me a chink again?

  • looks like you need a kick in the head

  • looks like you need anger management.

  • oh they're so cute !

  • rubina is so cute! someone should adopt her, giver her a better life, its funny how the little kid hits rubina at 1:17 like trying to get her to talk, she hits him back lol

  • sooo cute. "little jamil" so chatty in his high pitch voice, "pre-adolescent jamil" saying go to hell and "little latika' sort of wanderin' around oblivious.

  • when did he say go to hell?

  • In other video where they were interviewed.

  • haha k.

  • in the other video, he was talking and the taller boy was teasing him and he said "go to hell" it was hilarious

  • haha i wanna see it.

  • what video?

  • they're adorable...

  • Oh my goodness so cute

  • Uhh... how can someone erroneously interchange India and Italy both geographically, culturally and accent-wise? Someone should go back to school.

  • they are sooo cute!!!

  • i've seen this movie atleast 3 times a week ever since it came out in theaters in 2008.

  • Comment removed

  • Ssshahin.....I can`t believe the racist comments on this blog about Africans and Italians. You are spitting at the Almighty One when you write such remarks because He made all of us and nobody chose to be black , or white.....and as far as I`m concerned noboby is more superior...and this is from an Indian person completely ashamed that another Indian would insult a person of a different race. You are so unevolved!!!SHAME ON YOU!!!

  • just wanna say I am italian and I love Slumdog Millionaire!!

  • Rubina is so cute.. when she grow up she will look like Aishawara Rai ..

  • The presenter left Rubiana out! He should know better than to do that with kids. She had rehearsed that phrase in English. Doofus. The other presenter showed some sense and said she could speak in Hindi. Brimming with pesonality, this bunch, and yet, not precocious. They made Oscars 2009 special.

  • I noticed that too! I was so pissed he forgot Rubina. I wanted to write a complaint. anyways, they were the highlight of the Oscars red carpet and the show. they did make the Oscars 2009 special. i can't get enough of watching them.

  • Comment removed

  • does that mean africans are filthy and hairy? at least africans arent racist and ignorant

  • africans can be racist and ignorant just like anyone of any race.

  • i can't stop laughing! they are so CUTE!!!!!!!

  • i know! they were the best part of the movie AND the OScars! I want their autographs and pictures with them. They're irrisistable!

  • Ayush was the only one with prior bigtime acting experience (tare zameen par). So if that movie was in this awards then he'd probably be here anyway. They will all be successful and I wish them all the best.

  • I think it was Tanmay who was in Taare Zameen Par and Don.

  • It was Darsheel Safary in Taare Zameen Par.

  • Yes, I know. Tanay was playing Darsheel's friend in Taare Zameen Par, the one in clutches.

Tanay was also in Don, playing Arjun's kid.
