@ RangerMoose7 he's talking about the gig miles davis played at the isle of wight.
@ yoitscayman word, but unfortunaltley he himself got caught up in playing the same music since 20 or 30 years. i'd wish he'd get the energy to get out of his own clishees and do somethig as real and important as he used to...
@73calabrone In England maybe yeah - outside Europe he's pretty much unknown and this reflects on his current touring schedule. He didn't penetrate the US market simply because he and other British artists who tried to beat the Americans at their own game (jamiroquai included) didn't have the sound needed to succeed in that market. The successful English acts in the US were so because they played on their British identity, the Beatles, the Stones even lesser knowns like Corinne Bailey-Rae
@moochincrawdad you are completely off the road! the groove British personalities .... Mark King has sold millions of records worldwide in amerika .... Mark has brought down the maximum levels as Pastorius, individual lessons in love as they were first in the standings throughout the world, sold millions of records in America .. i repeat: mark king is the best bassist of all time, the predestined English
@73calabrone Level 42 destroyed themselves when they tried to go for the pop limelight, they simply didn't have what it took to be in mainstream pop, they even tried to claw their way back with a few high profile spots but to no avail.
@moochincrawdad I can not talk to you ............... you are completely out of the way !!!!!!!!! an Englishman named Mark King has changed the world how to play the bass at the highest levels! cloth repeat the groove, spirituality, elegance, imagination is the top English for art ..... amerika is vulgar, England is elegant!! some examples? David Bowie, Elton John, level 42, yes, boy george etc. .....!! hello hello
I know you you idiot. You're the guy who wears Mark King's dirty underwear and comes on everyone's pages telling us how great he is and how crap every other bass player else is.
You need to do one,you total muppet, you're a knob, and a pain in the ass too.
much love for marcus man, he doesn't get recognized too often and he's just great. respect him so much on his instrument and as a musician. love the stuff he does with bass clarinet and what not. class musician
For people trying to find the studio recording of what he playes at the end; It's called ''Mr Pastorius'' which is included on Marcus' cd called; The Sun Don't Lie.
Seriously? Personally I think that the things he plays at the end is horrible! All you hear is buzz from the fretboard. And he is not focusing anything at his timbre at all!
@bassleful The Swede being a non-Hasidic cantor with a small reproductive organ and no sense of rhythm or pitch; after the copulation, the Hebrew lights a cheap ChiCom cigarette and smashes the bass, Pete Townsend-style, the sound of which is reflected in this silly musician's noodling.
Man......Marcus loved Miles. I think it's because of the language that they spoke.....no one else would understand that language except for them two and only them two. It's said but Marcus is just amazing man. 5 stars
"...I think he also respected that i was committed to now...ya know, I love that music,, I play it...you know,I practice it but when it's time for me to 'say' what I have to 'say' I'm committed to making music for now..."
