Following the Hellfire missile from detontion against the ambulance (and the second that misfired) through the winding road back to the United States was a great journey. Israel kills civilians. This demonstrates it in detail. Thank you for posting and for the interview.
Sometimes I just could not put it down and would continue reading and before I knew it, it was time to prep for mission. I lost alot of good sleep thanks to this book, but it was well worth it.
I bought another copy for my sister who wants to be a journalism/English major in college. I hope it will open her eyes wider like it did mine. Thanks you again, and God Bless, Mr. Fisk.
Ironic how Mr. Fisk usues the analogy he does at the end of this interview; I bought and read "The Great War for Civilization" during my deployment to Iraq. I would come off of patrols or a doing a raid and whatever 'downtime' we got, I would always read this book before falling asleep.
the great war for civilisation is essential reading for everyone.i tells the situation in the middle east the way it should be told.please check it out
I don't understand if fisk is firmly against war why was he bitching at the west about not going to war in the balkans in the 90's?

If I could have this one message to the whole world it would be this:
Never Join The Army.
If you are in the army, any army, LEAVE.
The politicians, the corporations, the dictators, the tyrants can do nothing without those willing to pick up a gun.
Voting, protests and democracy wont stop war. Refusal to fight will.
Alas we are too afraid of each other.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Thanks for telling us your story.
I agree - it is a great book, and we ("in the West") could learn much from reading it.

I'm interested to know how you processed the polticcs of what you were doing in Iraq with what you were reading. Did you struggle with that polemic?
