  • Awesome video. I just bought an 870 Magnum. I'll be referencing your video when I customize mine.

  • A tip, I had a Winchester 1300 with a Vent rib barrel that I cut down as well. I actually cut the barrel separate from the vent rib. The barrel ended up mid way between the supports, and I filed the rib back to the support. Some people complain of the vent rib breaking off with the way you have done it. Not telling you to do it, just a tip. Otherwise it's a great looking piece.

  • f*ck yeah!!!

  • what length of vent rib barrel is that and what kind of magazine extension is on there? Looks very wicked and cool.

  • It seems, that this shotgun is very similar with the AK-47.Reliable,simple and indestructible.

  • can you please show a video of you shooting it

  • If zombies attack I'm coming to your house

  • lol

  • Your shotgun is perfect for zombie killing! :O

  • is it a slug gun cuz im thinking about getiing one

  • is it a slug gun?

  • did u just saw off the barrel

  • i got mine at Gander MTn for 320 used, i got 265 bucks in gift cards for Christmas so i had ot buy it there

  • How do you measure the barrel? I think I've heard it's from the inside of the action when it's closed but I'm not sure. I want to take my 870 down to 18.5 as well.

  • Left hand was $345 at Wal Mart. Stock is 4+1. They sell after market barrels, 24" and 18". It is a great shotgun.

  • Wal Mart has them for $300.

  • nice shotgun, i like it

  • Get yourself a nice used one between 200-250. Its a very great shotgun for the more than reasonable price. Its almost indestructible.

  • you can get a new one for 260

  • Nice video! Thanks. Your gun looks kickass!

  • Hey, Kervyn being an owner of a Remington 870 what is your overall view of the shotgun is it worth every penny?

  • i recently bought a remington 870 express 12 gauge, and i can say it is worth every penny

  • absolutely!

  • i had recently bought a remington 870 20 gauge and yes it is worth every penny!

  • i just bought one, i fucking LOVE it, these shotguns have been around since 1932 man, smooth action, they are fuckin sick

  • Did you watch the video? He's gives his overall view.

  • idk about his opinion but i own one myself and it is worth the $437 i payed i love it its a great gun home defense hunting sport shooting its good for anything reliably get one and you wont regret it

  • hey i bought a mag extender for my 870 and it wouldnt work, do you know the brand or model or both, of the mag extender your using?

  • its not illegual to have a shotgun that 26" or less or a 18"barrel it just has to be classified as a class 3 destructive device.. at least in TN it isnt ..class 3 shot guns are prefectally leugal but you just have to pay a 25$ TRANSFER FEE.. nice gun

  • thats true thats true

  • I bought my Remmington 870 Magnum off of a guy I knew, he let me have it for $120 with 100 shells. XD Works like a charm too.

  • are you in the military? i see your dogtags.. if so what branch?

  • idk but i would say Army, his profile has the Army's ACU camo

  • and his dogtags

  • i have an 870 super mag black synthetic and its by far my favorite shotgun i have nothing really flashy on it but its dependable and it never jams on me which is great because im a big duck hunter and when im in the blind and its raining i dont have to worry about my gun not firing i also like my vented rib on the barrel i i think that it adds a good look to it

  • What I got mine on sale at Big 5 in California this week and I am still waiting until the 12th I bought mine for $438.24 after taxes and a $25 background check but it was worth it this ones for the feds.

  • ive got a surefire piccatiny rail on my and it sweet! put the 8rd extender and ar15 stock and pistol grip on it too. great gun though

  • Great vid. Good taste in shotguns as well!

  • randym89, $400?

i got my 870 brand new, with 26" barrel, wood stock and forearm for $270 from dicks sporting goods.

  • i jus got a remington 870 express synthetic...brand new out the box for 400 dollars...but a used one cost bout 250....

  • I got a brand new 870 synthetic for 250 after tax from Cabela's.

  • I like the full length ventilated rib on the shorter barrels. It's an attractive feature that "tactical" shotguns usually lack.

  • Do they add much weight?

  • I got mine free.

  • man where u got to put the extenson to hold 7 shots man

  • where u customise it man

  • how do you take it apart?

  • shhh obamas listening

  • whats a good website to use for shotgun shopping? (ik, weird question)

  • chapinfeliz thank you

  • chapinfeliz thank you

  • Kervyn how much this remington 870

  • Justas47, I just bought one from my cousin for $150.00 with modified magazine tube, but you can pick up yours brand new for about $390.00. However the Remington 870 not the magnun express cost about $280.00. Hope this would help.

  • lol dude it wont jam

  • man that is a sweet looking 870. great job. i love it when the magazine tube is equal with the barrel

  • does this 870 hold 5+1

  • Depends on the length of the slug

  • i bet it hold more than that he has a extended magazine tube

  • man thts a friggin sweet gun. i hav only gone shooting a couple times but im planing on being a police officer (randon) anyway ive never shot a shotgun but i realy want to:)

  • Never cut off a shot gun barrel, you can buy a short barrel but you can not make one ATF rules.

  • You're clearly in the wrong. I know my gun laws. It's perfectly legal. You need to know what you're talking about before posting any comments.

  • It's not illegal as long as it's under 18.1/2 inches. ATF don't make rules, they enforce this thing called.... THE LAW!? Do research before posting comments. ( =

  • @mhpdmhpd your a dumb ass

  • @mhpdmhpd your a dumb ass. get your facts straight before talking shit

  • @mhpdmhpd ur a dumbass

  • @mhpdmhpd You can chop a shotgun's barrel down to 18 inches.

  • @ERF420 well, 18.5 inches. The ATF say 18 inches or under.

  • bla21102, you can shoot 2 3/4 all day with a 3 1/2 gun all day and you will be ok.

  • bla21102, wrong, you can shoot 2 3/4 all day you will be fine.

  • Is it true that if you have a magnum shotgun (3.5 high brass) and you shoot 2 3/4 low brass all the time (for trap or skeet) that a low brass will jam because the gun is typically meant for a 3.5 mag? I ask because i would like to have a 3.5 mag for hunting but also use it it for a lot of trap shooting.

  • Comment removed

  • Not yet, if you catch my drift.

  • only allowed 2 in the mag and 1 in the chamber when hunting.

  • Great Video! Keep them coming. I also the 870 Express, and I love it.

  • I have a 870 express and I wish I had a shorter barrel like yours.

  • nice video ;) cool gun!

  • Thank you.

  • I've got the same gun as you but with the wood stock. That's not a bad idea taking off some of the barrel length and adding that shell extender. Your's has a very nice clean look. Can you tell a difference when shooting skeet with the shorter barrel? I have never tried it.

  • I can't say I've noticed a difference. I guess I haven't shot out far enough yet after the mod to the barrel.

  • I dig it! I'll trade ya for my stock 870 :D

  • Thanks but I'll have to pass on your offer.

  • nice setup.

  • ummmm I have an 870 express magnum and it says it takes only 2 3/4" and 3" not 3.5' but it def. says Magnum

  • That is pretty.

  • i have a remington 870 express. it says * 12 GA 2 3/4" or 3". would i be able to use magnum shells in mine

  • No, Magnum is 3.5"

  • wrong!!!

  • Not all magnum's are 3.5 like the guy below me says he in not correct...You will have no problem finding magnums in 2-3/4 or 3...I myself have my 870 loaded with 2-3/4 00 magnum buckshot

  • The info i see states that the 12 buck shot shells do NOT pattern as well as the smaller 2&3/4 ones do. the stacking of 2 and 2 balls fly better than the 3 and 3 stacked balls. Might want to look into it! I live in grizzly country and I alternate slug with buck! All i keep in the saddle is high brass slugs! Nobody is gonna' eat me in the woods!!!

and at close range, i doubt 15 pellet or less makes a big deal. Just aim good and squeeze one off!

  • NO you wont! iF IT DOES NOT SAY magnum ON IT DONT DO IT!

  • is it a bb gun or real

  • what kind of question is that??? of course its real

  • how long is the extension you installed? like, the difference in length from the stock supply to the new. and how long was your barrel originally?

  • first idk why your comment got a thumb down, but to "help" answer your question remington makes so many variants to can pretty much get it any way you want, cheick it out on remington website

  • i need a 26 inch barrel wear i live

  • thats pretty fucking cool if i do say so myself.

  • kool gun btw...

a normal 18.5 Express only holds 6+1 rounds...

wonder if the can be modified to hold 7+1 in the stock mag..

  • ya mine holds 6+1. but i have a cookie cutter choke and it has a carbon fiber film so it looks cool

  • what does the word magnum mean?

like i know theres calibers called magnum,

but its also used to for other things...

like for example in this gun, whats the magum stand for?

  • Magnum stands for "3.5" inch shells for this remington 870

  • magnum means you get a bigger shell and more power.

  • Magnum does not mean a bigger shell. Magnum means that the shotgun(or handgun) can take higher pressure loaded ammunition. You can have a 2 3/4" shell that's regular and also have a 2 3/4" shell that's magnum. It's the amount and type of flash powder used to generate thrust. More psi of pressure behind the bullet means a higher velocity. Hope this helps you guys out a bit. Thanks again.

  • DAMN!!! Your house is like a fuckin Military Armory. I bet no one comes near your house without a guest invite. MY LORD!!!

  • F'n sweet

  • Great gun! Very nice mods to it...

  • I've got a left handed one myself. Southpaws represent.

  • great gun

  • how much do those shotguns cost

  • $220ish

  • little higher than that...

  • for trap and skeet with that thing, whats the estimated distance from you and the target? i use a 590, but havent tried trap/skeet with it.

  • I've done about 25 to 35 yards....

  • The S.A.S use a more compact version of that weapon for tough to open doors. Its a nice weapon.

  • nice remington 870..thats a sick ass gun..where is bass and pros.. because if it is 250 there then i will buy it there, is that new or used?

    Thanks

  • its not bass and pros its bass pros

  • Hey bud where did you get that shell holder on the 870, that thing is nice.

  • Thank you. I got it on Ebay. It's made by Blackhawk, you should check they're products out. Great stuff!

  • nice rem. 870 video, i am in the process of converting mine to a tactical shotgun, instead of sawing my barrel off i bought the 18 1/2" barrel from mossberg for remington 870, and i added a knoxx specops stock, but my next upgrade will be the extension tube, i might get it from wilson combat, how hard was that to install.......thanks and keep up the great videos

  • Thanks. The tube wasn't hard to install at all, although some modification to the shotgun had to be done. Inside the original tube you'll find a detent where the spring is located. You need to sand it down, use a dremel if you have it and grind it down. By doing that , the follower will be able to go past the original tube in into the extension tube. By modifying the tube on the shotgun, the warranty becomes voided. Who cares, modifying rifles and guns are lots of fun, just keep it legal.

  • yeah all the stuff done so far is legal in florida.......and about the warranty.....i dont mind voiding it.....converting the stock shotgun to a tactical shotgun is fun

  • That's a nice honest review on the gun. You can buy a gun already under 18"/26", but you need a tax stamp and sherrif's sign off on it (not hard to get in Florida). Price is $5, otherwise it's illegal because you didn't pay your taxes ;)

    Nice gun BTW!

  • Thanks for the comment. Yeah I know the gun laws that pertain to Florida. In Dade county the Sheriff will not sign, in Broward they will. This shotgun's of legal length, no stamp needed. Thanks again for watching.

  • i paid 490 and 110 for a stock 40 for a pump 120 for sights 45 for saddle and you should have a smith do that thredding or u will regret it and a cost about 210

  • I already threaded the barrel barrel myself. It wasn't hard at all. Came out just fine.

  • 250 bucks ipaid 489 and did the sight line up nice with the apoxie how did you get it lined up perfect

  • The front sight bottom is almost the same width as the top of the magnum porting rail. It was easy to line up.

  • Wow $250 for a 870. I'd be lucky to find prices like that out here in PRK.

  • $250 for a new 12 gauge is a good price. But anyway just a few questions, cause I heard you say "skeet shooting" and that's something me and my daddy do. By you sawing off that tip, is it easier to handle for skeet shooting? I know that the pattern is bigger and that's a plus but did you lose any accuracy?

  • Well like with any rifle or shotgun, the shorter the barrel the less accuracy you have. Now that being said, I've shoot this shotgun like this and I didn't notice any change in accuracy. Obviously the shot pattern would be a bit wider and distance becomes a factor. I'll be threading the inside of the barrel when I get a chance so that I might be able to use some chokes. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Nice video. that really makes me want to buy it....

  • Thanks man, I try to make videos with honest opinions and information. I do this so others can benefit from it and make sound decisions on their firearm & firearm accessory purchases...Good luck!
