  • That bird thought his voice was the greatest thing ever..

  • Ya'll keep in context....God IS good!!

  • Yes Super Kyky

  • Actually, I know just how he must feel. I was at my ex in laws and a flea jumped on my leg.

  • I'm pretty sure that's happened to me a few times too.

  • Like !

  • that bird has such good taste!!!!

  • This is one of the reasons I love Bluegrass music, and the people in it! When the electric goes off for good, we'll ALL be playin' Bluegrass!

  • Favored

  • So wonderful! I'm so glad he didn't panic and frighten the bird away.

This reminds me of a time I was sitting in my backyard with my feet propped up on the fence, just looking into the woods. As I sat there, a titmouse flew in and landed on the toe of my shoe! It sat there for a minute or two and stared at me, tipping its head to one side occasionally. I was all alone and naturally had no camera, but it was a great experience that left me grinning for days.

  • @KeeneValleyGuy,

Please look up "perpetuity" before even thinking about responding to this one. I don't know if a post on YouTube could be a legally binding agreement, or whether a simple email response could waive your legal rights, but, if the poster CNNRANDC is legit, it's a bad way to do business.

BTW, I loved the video and music!

  • What a sweet guy.. Other guys would have flung it off!! I want to buy this guys music justbtonsupport him

  • He shoulda kept it as a pet it prolly got lost from it's mother

  • Just a little bird loving some Bluegrass & Loves Josh's voice! Super Cool Video & Super Cool Guy!

  • too cool.

  • Just think'n I have seen before. When a child's mom died he was saying his last words he had written. He was reading in front of all and a sparrow came and sat on him. The bird came into the church and just sat on the little boy as he spoke of his mom I told my son as he was dying at home and often told him give mom a sign sign if he could. I wonder if the guy lost a friend or mom loved one because this is a' miracle' of Father God enormous love. Made me smile to see so much love I cried.

  • Love the way the Josh response to the bird. One of the cutest things ever. Oh and the music was really great also.

  • saw this on Kathy Lee & Hoda!!

  • Wow, I didn't realize this had gone viral! I was there when it happened - Denton is my favorite bluegrass festival! I wasn't filming at the time, sadly, but I do have pictures of Josh holding the little bird and trying to figure out what to do with it! It was a cute moment!

  • Yet another chick singer trying to steal the show! (quote from Mark Schatz)

  • @clairelynch890 Not sure the fledgling was a chick. Coulda been a whatcha call a rooster bird. See you Friday or Saturday next at Dillard. Glad you liked the video.

  • I loved this video, shared it with all my friends on Facebook. Just wanted to post that a quick google search will take you to joshwilliamsmusic . com where you can find out more about this wonderful singer. :) Thanks for sharing

  • Josh you sang very good and better than that I think you must be a very good person and I am not gay, But I do love bluegrass music and do love my wife very much for 48 years now.

  • I've watched this video many times now. I just can't get over the connection. Josh Williams is obviously a kind hearted soul. Great musician too. I'm a fan now.

  • What a wonderful voice Josh has and what a gentle and sweet man he seems to be by his reaction to this little bird. This is a charming video.

  • Josh has been a friend (and adopted son, lol) of our family for years, and seeing this video was just too cool. This is exactly the kind of guy Josh is, and it's awesome to see so many people not only enjoy his kind-natured attitude, but also the great music he plays. Very neat! Thanks for posting.

  • @ObviouslyBenHughes Good to hear from you Ben. This has been quite a ride for Josh, and for me.

  • Good Bluegrass by the way. It's not a style I'm normally into, but I enjoyed it. It must be good if even the birds like it!

  • A bird pooped on my Dobro while I was playing once. I stopped playing under trees after that.

  • The only bad thing about this video is that once the bird lands, Josh stops jammin'

  • Too cool!

  • @Mkwp123 Excellent composure! You'd almost think Williams and the bird had it all planned. Notice however, that the bird had enough sense not to perch on the banjo. Smart bird!

  • This was inspiring. I was filled with the spirit of the Lord when I watched this. Josh Williams is blessed to have experienced this miracle. I especially enjoyed watching the little birdy melt his heart...

  • Meanwhile on TV, someone's trying get you afraid or some advertisement is making you feel like less of a human.

  • soooooooooooooo cute

  • was that bird drunk and wanted to here some blue grass...

  • ça fait plaisir à voir... un moment inoubliable pour ce chanteur qui dégage une paix intérieure..

  • there ain`t no way.. i had a similar experience ,,no lie..at a gettysburg bluegrass festival in Pa..,back ten years ago + ,,there was a sparrow came in the mist of the crowd near the sound persons tent and tweeted or sang it`s heart out at the exact time the lewis family was singing "his eye is on the sparrow" and at the very end of the song it flew off....if only you could have seen the the enthusiasm and spirit the way that sparrow was singing.... true story..

  • @prescomp That's a really neat story. There most be some way in which singing creatures respond to music, even if it's not exactly theirs. The only other possible thought is that bluegrass music is for the birds. I don't buy that.....

  • @KeeneValleyGuy ...yeah, that sparrow was only a couple of feet from the whole crowd right in the center. it almost seemed liked i was suppose to see it.i don`t know if any one else did, thanks for the response..

  • @KeeneValleyGuy he WAS singing bout a wandering JEW

  • That's a very special moment to capture,he is being visited by a spirit who knows and trusts him.Good on him for acting like a stand up gentle human being.Well done.

  • je trouve sa tres bon avec sont petit oiseaux super

  • That birdie wanted to sing to a captive audience I guess....it was very sweet of Josh to be so gentle and patient. Much respect to him.

  • Love it!

  • I felt like I was in a dream!

  • How absolutely wonderful. The bird seemed very happy, it made everyone watching even happier, and bought out the most wonderful smile. Thank you

  • THAT!!WUZ! AWSOME!!!! i think i do believe in reincarnation now

....that bird loved his voice!! I have humming birds react to my voice when i come out they come to me and fly around! This is great meeting someone else with a 'Voice' it wasnt just an accident listen to the song! sky grandpa ....papa ....die....one day see my own gold..... say goodbye wow ...awsome words in that song Did he stop and figure this?

prayers....lol...Did he stop and go figure?

  • "Sing along!" Delightful video AND man! =o)

  • Excellent ! Le petit oiseau apprécie sa musique !

  • There's a "tweet tweet" at 1:27-two seconds before the bird flies down.

  • Seems right that baby birds like bluegrass

  • Good Guy Josh

  • oh my gosh that's so cute!

  • i love how it looks like he is singing to the bird. Only a true musician could keep singing without missing a note like that.

  • Funny!! There's a squirrel here that seems to like My Alison Krauss and Linda Ronstadt. She comes and looks in the window.

  • I love this video, that little bird was enjoying a great singer, and so did I. God bless!

  • I watched this because of the bird but turns out this band is BadAss!!!!!

  • One friggin' bird lands on stage and I get hooked on one of the best bluegrass pickers of our time.

  • lol it's like a disney cartoon...

  • @KoTowaty Haha, so true!

  • MADE MY DAY !

  • this was incredible,

  • Regular Show.

    Mordecai lives.

  • I've heard of performers 'getting the bird' but never quite like this!

  • Thanks to all of the ladies out there who think my hubby is so cute! I think he is too & yes, he does make beautiful babies.

  • awww what a cute bird =) bold for landing on the epicenter of a bunch of loud noises =D great music too!

  • Well, I think the bird's name is Merdecai and he's a wandering Jew. :)

  • Well now....this makes me Smile real Big !

  • Had two robin eggs on top of my back porch light. I used a mirror to reach up there and view them as they hatched and grew. The last day I checked them with my mirror and they flew the nest at that exact time and about scared the hell out of me. They flew about 50 yards out into the yard and all at once hundreds of robins gathered in the trees above and whistled and cherpped and cheered them on. It was something to witness.

  • awesome

  • does anyone have the lyrics for this tune?

  • @texaspickr They have the lyrics for Mordecai by Josh Williams on The Lyric Archive.com

Please see a few of my gardening videos by clickin on my name :-)

  • very good

    BIRD BIRD

    BIRD IS THE WORD.

  • awwww love the bird and really loved the music :)

  • How did you train this bird and can we borrow it?

  • If you click the time here > 1:28 you'll go straight to the incident.

  • I don't know why was I expecting the bird to start dancing and singing. I must have spent to much time on Youtube

  • Josh, you are a true musician. Never missed a beat. Great pickin fellas. You gave "Bluegrass is for the birds" a whole new meaning

  • Amazing song, just amazing!

  • What a wonderful song! Does anyone know where I can find a better quality version or lyrics? Thanks in advance! Greetings from the Netherlands!

  • Cute! I love this :)

  • That was freaking adorable! I'm glad the little bird is ok.

  • He's just like Snow White!

  • My kind of guy....he did a great job singing to that bird!

  • this is music

  • brazil loved it! awesome! contratulations for the good music and for what happened.

  • that was just brilliant, it really cheered me up.... such a unique thing to happen and the band played on!

  • Wow what are the odds of that happening?

  • Luck Bird it wasnt Ozzy

  • @GuiGo89 it's not a bat

  • better love story than twilight

  • Magical. Brings a tear to the eye.

  • A lovely song, well-sung, and a spectacularly ALL-SWEET and ALL-NATURAL introduction to some new talent (the little bird), and some talent-- new to me (Josh Williams-nice!).

  • I guess that's one way to become part of the band! Added a few chirpy grace notes, didn't it?

  • This song is written by Mark Mathewson of Diamonds in the Rough!

  • SE FOSSE O ROGÉRIO SKYLAB O RESULTADO SERIA BEM DIFERENTE!

  • Josh is a class act and that birdie got the best seat in the house.

  • piękny głos i wielki talent...

  • Fun begins at 1:27

  • Thanks for the "thanks." Sent your video out to a ton of folks across the country and universal "Awwws..." are coming back!

    Rev. B

  • What was the fate of the bird? It looked too young to be out of a nest. I hope I don't regret asking this :/

  • @fraudcakes A women sitting in the front row was a veterinarian. She returned the two chicks to their nest and, as far as I know, they were accepted back.

  • @KeeneValleyGuy Thank God she was a vegetarian. I'm so serious.

  • @TheSpaceCulture A what now.

  • @fraudcakes the bird got shot by dawn

  • Reminds me of when a baby hummingbird tried landed on our pool cover years ago. I rescued it, put it in an animal carrier and fed it for days with syrup dripping off my finger. It would then walk around my shirt and sit on my shoulder. A few days later its mother showed up and I held the baby in my outstretched hand while the mother hovered in the air just beyond my fingers and fed it. Finally got strong enough to fly away. All quite amazing...as was the video. Great stuff!

  • @RevBurns1 Terrific story. Thanks

  • @RevBurns1 That is an incredible story, and how lucky you are to have experienced the joy of that. wow! :)

  • @RevBurns1 cool story bro.

  • Josh--It's a good omen! Great music by the way, as I was playing this my parakeet was singing like never before. You have bird appeal! that's the ultimate, purest compliment. I liked the way you handled the surprise so graciously. All the best--

  • :) A loved one from the 'other side' coming by for a visit :)

  • What an absolute delight. Looks like a little Eastern Phoebe fledgling may have gotten spooked by all the strange noises! Looks like it's at that age to leave the nest anyway. Not a bad first experience though. So nice how gentle he is with the little one. No wonder I love Bluegrass.

  • This is one of the best things I've ever seen! Wonderful song and amazing reaction, makes me smile so much :-)

  • i hope they saved the bird... cause i know exactly what happened here. it happened to me a couple of times before... a young bird tries to fly from it's nest for the first time, and aint really successful ya kno...:P you can see that it was more of a fall than a flight... and the reason it didn't run away and wasn't scared is cause it's too young to know to be scared of people, cats, dogs etc... i had 2 lil sparrows land on me like that... let me stroke em and all...

  • This is Classic....

  • new member?

  • Love his voice. So much. And apparently the little birdies agree.

  • @BarbaraJaneP Josh has a fine voice. Lots of range with a terrific bass kick when he call on it. He's also been named guitar player of the year at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) for the past three years.

  • Where is the tab for this??

  • This made me inexplicably happy.

  • @visteannika This seems to be the reaction of lots of people. - Ted

  • I hope they named that bird Mordecai.

  • Kind of like a male Snow White. AWW.

  • I love this video. May I show it to a group of 20 or so Church leaders? Josh's comment in the middle is so perfect for us who find ourselves in times we don't understand: "I don;t know what to do." Perfect! duke.vipperman@sympatico.ca

  • cute ^v^

  • thumbs up, if you thought thats gonna be a famous singer.

  • I love that finished the song. Very professional. "i don't know what to do!" lol

  • this is toooo awesome!

  • He could write a country song about the Cardinal on my Guitar.

  • 1:25

  • @sdhch477 Look for other Josh Williams songs on YouTube and then check out bluegrass more generally. - Ted

  • @sdhch477  Bluegrass != country.

  • Beautiful !!!

  • Glad something like this can happen to introduce some new people to good music

  • @BurnsBCoFD Just right. - Ted

  • @BurnsBCoFD I've always loved bluegrass, though I don't listen enough. I liked this band. Of course the vid is the sweetest thing I ever did see in such a long time. But I agree, many more people might get a taste of the good stuff. :)

  • @BurnsBCoFD Feel exactly the same, love the song :)

  • It's like a Disney movie !

  • That is just one of the most awesome things I have ever seen !!!!

  • like a fucking boss

  • How fucked up can you be to dislike something wonderful like this video. I mean... how... what... ... =O

    This is so amazing^^

  • Hey Josh you might not know what to do but you sure did it right , great reaction :) Bill

  • dey tuk ur joob

  • birdie 1:30 x)

  • this is awesome! how can people dislike this?

  • The bird was fortunate that it wasn't an Ozzy concert or he would have had his head bitten off.

  • Beautiful voice and band! - The bird really did top it off, I was just so amazed!

  • I hardly ever comment but this deserves a comment! That....was...awesome! I have fallen in love with this guy purely for his reaction to the little bird who wants to join in!

  • @Tixylixy21 I was thinking the same thing. How many musicians would be so happy to be upstaged by a baby bird... Absolutely beautiful! Well done Josh — the song and the reaction to the bird.

  • thank god it wasn't ozzy.

  • I have watched this about 10 times in the past 24 hours. It makes my heart smile. :) Thank you for sharing this.
