No he broke it off with her because he let the production get in the way, Molly was agressively after him and he was seeing her whie he was with Melissa. Maybe one of the reasons why Jason chose Molly was because Ty and his family preferred her. But I think he really loved her but was persuaded by the producers to choose Melissa because she was a fan favourite.
