The part from @7:30 onwards is just SO epic. It will definitely end up some day, some moment, in a pop song which will cleverly give it a modern and popular dimension. Of course the original will always be better, since no shape beats a soul; but yet I am looking forward to that awesome day!

@Vesivian Classical music is all around. Every movie you see, song you hear... there's classical in it, living through film scores, symphonic metal - even pop and rap. It may not be most commonly found in its purest forms, but it's still here in one form or another. The world of music owes too much to let classical music go, and it's too good to die. Be optimistic :)

@C6H12O6ish This was one of the first pieces I played on violin, and Handel's "Sarabande" was one of my first piano pieces. I noticed the similarities,, but I never realized one was based off the other. I feel stupid.

If you know french read the note under the clip. the Theme "Folia di Spagna" is a popular dance from Spain and many musician have done variations on it. Vivaldi and Haendel are only two of them.

I think, from all wersions of La Follia Vivaldis is the greatest! It's so complex (even if it's a relatively simple theme) and dense. A never ending melody :D
