At 1:50 does anyone else have these words pop in to their mind when Jay Robinson walks out: "Doctor Shrinker, Doctor Shrinker, he's a madman with an evil mind. Doctor Shrinker, Doctor Shrinker, he's as crazy as you'll ever find."
It's so cool. The actor she helped, Jay Robinson played a guest role in one of my favorite TV shows, "Star Trek". He plays Ambassador Petri, a green-skinned, white-haired man from the planet Troyius. He must escort the Elaan, the female member of the Royal family of the planet Elas to his planet to wed their leader. He is very civilized, polite and educated, while the Doleman of Elas is violent, undisciplined and savage. This episode aired in December 1968, after Bette helped his career.
Lol! When Barbara just grabbed Bette's cigarette! That was so unexpected I felt a little uncomfortable after that. Although she did a really good job on impersonating her!
@mooremello No she wasn't. She did like things clean and tidy though. The gloves were a popular thing back then, and a good way to avoid catching people colds etc.
This is a bit embarrassing for a major film star - it's more like a little get together in someone's living room, the chairs all lumped together like in a school common room, no wonder Bette was not that impressed.
ah she was a good mate to that man who went to jail, i think she prefered men as freinds than women she probably only made freinds with olivia de havilland because they both hated joan crawford bette drove joan out of the film hush hush sweet charlotte and got her replaced with olivia
@dougiewhite778 Olivia did not hate Crawford. Probably there werent friends, but unless Olivia told you that information herself, I dont believe it. Dont spread untrue shit.
@kingnando People do that all the time. They take something they've read somewhere and apply it as though it was absolute truth.I've done this myself.Try not to take it all too seriously.
@4MaryAnna well then what is the whole point of spreading lies about a subject? isn't it better to just say the truth? If you need fantasy, go buy one of Miss Davis dvds okay. ")
@kingnando Sometimes when someone says something about a movie star, they might not think they're "spreading lies".They might think what they're saying is the truth. At least the truth as they know it.
hahahahaha.....Olivia's action when Barbara does the impersonation walk.....she wiggles her shoulders along too hahaha....and holy crap the woman sounds exactly like her!!
Bette's reaction (i.e. boredom at times) was hilarious! I don't understand why they had Bette sit where she did, though...Everyone ended up sitting on the chesterfield arm...? I guess they didn't want the guests to get too comfortable but it was also right on top of Bette so she may have not liked that tight squeeze in her personal space.

So funny when Bette grabbed her handbag as soon as her sister got near it.

Bette;s body language seems to be saying "This is great, but please get me back to the picture I am trying to do."
