Resident Evil 4 featured an entirely new setting and antagonist so that people wouldn't have to waste time plowing through the crappy older games or online trying to figure out who the characters were. And at least Leon's pretty hair-style and lame one-liners made him more likable than the shitty bland Redfield.

you never needed to play through the other games to know who the characters were and the older games were far from crappy.

And no, 4 ruined what little there was to ruin of Leon's character. It's script pretty much made me wanna tear my ears off.

I believe you got it the other way around. RE4 was comprehensible for people new to the series i.e. me. RE5 took itself way too seriously.

And it sucked ass as a Resident Evil game. If it isn't gonna build on anything in the series before it it should not be labeled as a main game at all. RE's canon may be fucked up, but it at least had consistency throughout it. 4 doesn't even bother to connect to T or Progenitor or anything! It's just "oh, here's a new parasite that has nothing to do with anything else in the series found by some random ass cult with a racist maniac leading it!"

Best song in the game, imo. Also, Ada Wong needs to be the top or second to top villain in RE 6. Her and Leon need to do battle and come to a head in a tragic good vs evil conflict where Ada chooses a life of crime over her admiration of Leon, where as Leon chooses the side of the law over Ada. It would be a very compelling game if those two were forced to choose sides and they picked the opposite sides from each other. Brilliant story in the making.

@MystikWizard You know...Ada is more towards a hero rather than a villain. I mean, she saved Leon's ass numerous times in Resident Evil 2 and 4. She obviously has to hide her intentions from everyone well cause...she's a spy? If you fail to do that, you would be dead by now...so yeah. :) ADA FTW!

Well, she definitely is on the wrong side of the law. I would still say she is evil, as she is definitely out for herself. And she did steal the Plagas sample to provide her employer to do with what they please ... which is definitely not what a "heroine" would do, by taking it to the authorities. She is a villian, but just is fond of Leon due to their past encounter, and now this one. Seems like mutual respect, but on the opposite sides of the law.

Working for yourself doesn't mean one's evil. Although she IS responsible for whatever deaths will come from the plaga sample being stolen...

From what I understand, she's a double-agent whose true employers are opposed to Wesker. That doesn't necessarily mean they're any better...

I think they would fight each other over their core principles. Ada is more content leading a life of crime and chooses crime over Leon. Leon, in turn, chooses the law over Ada ... despite their feelings for each other. I could envision push coming to shove towards the end ... over a sample/antidote that Ada is trying to escape with and Leon putting his foot down. She got the best of him twice so far and the third time is the charm.

I like Ada where she is. Playing a wild card working for this 3rd Organization yet doing whatever she pleases including helping Leon whenever she see's fit. I don't think it'd make much sense for her to just become a full blown villain only to be killed off or whatever.

Resident Evil 5 was a very solid game but I don't like how they killed off Wesker in the end.

If there's a head figure in the 3rd Organization unrevealed. Let them come into the light instead

I respect what you are saying, but at the same time, all good things must come to an end ... otherwise the series becomes stale. And it has. The game must progress with new villains. Think of it as a TV show. If a drama had the same villains from season to season to season, it would get very old after a while. Wesker was around since the beginning ... and after being from the timeline from RE0 to RE5, his time was up. Ada is getting near that point, as well.

Ok... but Mega Man went on for how long? As did Mega Man X just to name one. But I wouldn't call Ada a quote "villain" unquote. Who knows what she's thinking. Like I said. Let whoever is running her organization come to the front and be the main villain for the next one kinda like how Saddler just showed up in this game or Alexia in Code Veronica X.
