  • Hi, I did exactly what was shown in this video.

I've used my laptop to connect to my desktop and I've got it to work.

The problem I've got was that I cannot access my home desktop from another computer outside of my home network and I cannot access it from my laptop either using internet connection at work or the library.

It works only within the same network. Is there something else that I need to do to have access to my desktop from outside of my home network?

  • @UltimateYang

That's maybe the problem with the firewall, like the build in firewall in your router.

BTW, you need your public IP address of your home, not something like 192.168.1.100

  • @gpmaq

Yes, I did use my public IP address. I'm not too sure how firewalls work. I'll try to figure that out then.

  • On system properties remote tab i don't get the option to allow connection running any version of remote desktop or the other option that has a network level Authentication. it doesn't let me connect to any of my PC's is this a router access issue?

  • @TOTITOROTO

Just follow the video step by step, you shuld be able to find that
