• In Oct. 2007, Indian authorities raided factories in New Dehli that produce clothing for the Gap & found children as young as 10 working.
• 3 deaths in India (2007) because it refused to allow employees to leave when they became seriously ill at work.
• The Gap was part of a settlement from a lawsuit brought against 22 companies for using sweatshop labor in Saipan, a US territory in the South Pacific. The Gap has also been linked to sweatshops in at least six countries.
HOLD UP! can everyone just rewind and watch 0:10 and WHATTTTTT!? lol did they just do that without tripping all over each other? or was it some eye trick?
Holy shit! I was 11 years old when this commercial came out. This song was stuck in my head for awhile, I couldnt get it out. Damn, I miss the 90s. I wonder who made the catchy beat?
this commercial came out 12 years ago, and they still look pretty cool back than.....back in '95 we call could agree that people in the early to mid 80s dressed just horrible, how did style drastically change so quickly in that decade but since the mid '90s to now, it's almost the same, just a few tweaks here and there, but nothing drastic? any commenst or thoughts to that?
I've thought the EXACT same thing. Hairstyles, as well. From about 1995 till now there has been little change in style. Compare the same 14-year difference between 1981 and 1995 and there is a COSMIC shift. Well spotted.
i've been wondering the same thing. like, the 70s style was very different than the 80s, and the 80s was so different from the 90s. but the 90s doesn't seem SO different from now. yeah, there were some trends that aren't around anymore, like shiny sweat suits, big scrunchies, and overalls, but in general, mostly just tweeaks and upgrades.
to follow my old comment my bad this commercial did come out like 9 yrs before the gap commercials are pretty much tight as heck hopefully they dont change no complaints haha word to your mother
The Song used in the Video is called Gettin It Off by Fuzzy Haskins (1977) and is a song in its own right, not just a song made for the advert, and what a track it is....
I used to LOVE this commercial...it kinda makes me feel a little old now, though lol thanks for posting! As far as the song goes, I don't think it's an actual song...just done for the commercial.

Does anyone know who choreographed this commercial? Remember Toni Basil? Of 'Mickey' fame? She choreographed it.

The Gap had the best commercials.

With emphasis on HAD. Why aren't the Gap commercials this inventive and simple anymore?
mediaman5005 2 years ago
probably because the out of touch ad execs think all our tastes have "evolved"......bring these type of commercials back!!!

I agree completely. Especially the 80's-if you compare 1980 to1989, it's like they are two different decades! There was so much change in the 80's.

It's very similar to or based off the song "One And One" off Miles Davis's "On The Corner" album, just watered down.
