  • We take water for granted, he just used about 2 gallons to clean his glasses , and on the other side of the world a small village would kill for that.....j/k, or am I?

  • @jaimeg819 Primo, it wasn't 6 liters of water (maybe two), secundo it was so much water used only for this video. You don't even use one liter of water normally doing it. LOL

  • If you have an anit-glare coating your'e glasses are fucked

  • Do you think metal glasses would rust from this?

I just got plastic glasses recently and cleaning them with a spray and cloth is a bitch for me...

  • what if ja nie mam Ludwika?

  • Okay, so I just came back from the bathroom, which was closest, and tried it.

You should get a nobel man, well done, specially the last part of removing the drops!

I was trying to clean 'em with the clothes and the liquid, not good man!

  • Using dish soap will strip the shit out of any coatings or lens treatments you have.

  • @cnip288 Over two years of using it and nothing happened. :P Always be sure what you say before doing it. (Of course, it may depend on a dish soap.)

  • spoko

  • OK. Now apply this formula to clean your faucet... ;)

  • @naix77 It's replaced with a new one. :P

  • no gastes tanta agua

  • Never do this. My Eye Doctor told me to NEVER use anything but prescriptioned formula for cleaning glasses! This WILL damage your glasses!

  • @marcieandbrooklyn15 If I learnt in the process that it damages glasses I would tell the viewers about it. I've been using this method for about two years now and no damage to my glasses. So before saying anything, ensure that what you say is actually true. Didn't you think that doctors may say that because they want you to buy special glass cleaners?

  • @Billcow Well, Doctors know what they mean!

  • @marcieandbrooklyn15 Yeah, especially when they want your money to buy those cleaners. ;-) Please, verify your knowledge before assuming something which is totally wrong. I tell you again, based ON FACTS, EMPIRICAL KNOWLEDGE, not unrational assumptions: again, I haven't damaged any pair of my glasses, and I've been cleaning two of them for a significant length of time.

  • @Billcow Okay, Sure. (even tho i dont agree)

  • @Billcow the drs wouldnt be benefiting from the purchase of special cleaners. the drs simply give u ur prescription for the lenses and then it is up to you to go the store which sells glasses and THERE u can buy the special cleaners...and on the other end of the spectrum drs wouldnt tell you if its bad or not because if it is then u will damage your glasses and need to visit them again which would make them more money. so there's an up and downside to both of your arguements

  • @revolverdt99 The doctors sometimes cooperate with drugs companies or perhaps with glass-cleaning products manufacturers also. :P

  • @Billcow i dont think they do..i work for a doctors office and we have an eye doctor come to our office to see patients. he gives them their prescriptions and its up to the patients to go to where ever they want to get their glasses..whether it is sears, lenscrafters, costco optical, or anywhere else where glasses are sold. mainly the doctor doesnt tell you where to go to get ur glasses. considering choosing the frames and lenses is completely the patients decision.

  • @marcieandbrooklyn15 Tsk tsk, so GULLIBLE.

  • Are you assuming that this works with poly and plastic frames as well as transition?

  • Just want say Tat I dun advise using soap or anything tat has chemical in it to wash ur glasses. It might make ur glasses clean but it will spoil ur lens overtime

  • @man81826002 I've been using this method of cleaning my classes for over two years now on two different pairs and it didn't spoil my lens. Only with the first pair I wasn't careful enough to always remove some remaining drops of water and that caused them in-burnt-like but didn't disturb your vision.

  • And if, just IF, you can't see without your glasses.....!?!

  • @MrVirtualCoder Just buy yourself another pair of glasses. What better advice can I give? :D

  • @Billcow They cost (To round the number up) 4500 Danish Kroners. This is equivalent to 1k American Dollars. Now, i have 13,25+ on my right eye, and 13,50+ on my left. Figure out the expenses :p

And yes, the ACTUAL glasses are the ones that cost much. The Titanium eyeglass frames cost around 1k, as to what i remember. I don't have those kind of money.

Although, i can say, that i successfully managed to (Almost) clean my glasses, while only dropping them once.

  • @MrVirtualCoder Wow, so expensive... People here usually have glasses worth around 100 bucks including the frame...

  • thank you ... awesome video

  • Donf foget to wash hands BEFORE spreading the dish solution, you will just be applying more greese. Thumbs up so everyone can see.

  • O.O I'M SEEING IN HIGH DEFINITION!

Thanks man. You are in my favorites.

  • This did'nt work for me.

  • Soooo... its dish soap?

  • Clean. Nice work, mate!

  • Great video. I'm going to share this with friends.

  • does this work with all glasses? and did u say put dish soap on them??

psycho control you re self you should go out more

  • @6969Nicole stfu either way i still wasnt talking to you. and little to your knowledge i do get out a lot. i actually havnt been home in the past 3 days

  • @kyledyoung oh my gawsh ur homeless!?! are u ok

  • @Jeepers014 yeah i go stay with friends sometimes for a few days. and srry for the late reply.

  • Works! just got my first pare of glasses today- thought I'm doomed until I've seen this! Thanks!

  • can you please reply and tell me what sort of glasses you have

  • Excellent video! I just have one question. Does the temperature of the water make any difference?

  • your the best thanks

  • You should never use soap or any other abrasive substance on your lenses. There are a ton of chemicals in that and it will ruin your lenses over time. The best stuff I have found is called Smitty's Glass Wax. It's non abrasive, super easy to use and honestly has kept my glasses clean for a long time! It works on tv screens, computer screens etc. awesome stuff.

Niemniej pomysłowe i skuteczne ;)

  • @Szpaner94, Bzdura! Myłem wieloma płynami i każdy zmywa woda.

  • Great video!

  • getting all the droplets off is too tedious. lol

  • Those glasses are bad a*s bro.... Nice vid

  • SBB! obviously your polish

  • Thank you BillCow for uploading this video about how to clean your glasses

  • This has got to be taking the piss.

  • I Got glasses just today

  • Ive had the same pair of glasses since 2004 they have light scratches on them what ive been doing every single day is cleaning them with water and drying with a soft cloth i will give this a shot always have had a problem with smudges

  • mine stayed the same

  • Thanks for the tip.. Helped a lot.. My glasses dont have smudges now and the glasses look very clean..

  • dish liquid.... DISH LIQUID!?! I've been wearing glasses since I was 13, I'm 22 now and you mean to tell me the key to getting my glasses crystal clear, this whole time, was DISH LIQUID!!!

THANK YOU!!! ... I feel a little dumb for not figuring that one out myself, but still THANK YOU ^_^

  • Was having trouble cleaning mums glasses then I checked out YouTube! ....wow worked great! So thanks alot! 

  • Excellent video. Thank you very much. This is very helpful. Tim

  • dude that's alot of water

  • Comment removed

  • @nmsll This comment is either really sad, or really gross.

  • thnx...btw you have an awesome accent were u from

  • @sk8rguy4life1123, I'm from Poland and English is not my first language. Thx! :)

  • Hahahhahaha I cant believe is not butter, it works AMAZING!

  • The approach that works for me is to one last step which is to use a hair dryer instead of a cloth.

  • Gee, I wouldn't think of that. :) But doesn't it leave the dry drop marks afterwards on the glass?

  • No...for me I don't notice any marks. The reason is that most dish detergents (at least in the U.S.) are designed to not leave water spots. Actually, the water spot problem is a problem if I allow the glasses to dry by themselves. But using the hair dryer makes the whole process faster and gets you the best results.

  • Good, then this method + your drying way gives us now a 200% method for cleaning glasses. :) I will give it a try.

  • @muzzledot DONT! IT WILL CAUSE SOME MELTING OF THE PLASTIC

  • well, I have used gass leaner for windows it works but it doesn't las for long ;-(

  • its... so soothing...

  • Ja mam soczewki ze wszystkimi dostępnymi powłokami. Do czyszczenia wykorzystuję parę z płuc i ściereczkę od optyka. Do teraz mam zero rys.

  • WOW! It worked brilliantly. Thanx a lot !

  • does it matter on the dish soap. couse min ehave afew little scratches and tried eyeglass cleaner but it doesnt work.

  • I can't be sure but I tried several dish soaps and was fine. Try using warm water, it works better than with cold water.

  • ok thanks ill try it on an old pare i have before i try it on my current ones

  • great video. amazing quality and film angles.

    nicely done!

  • i was told not to use abrasives or chemicals to clean my glasses because i have transition and anti-glare glasses. it might dissolve or damage the glasses. are you sure its safe to use the dish soap on the glasses?

  • I can't be 100% sure but my glasses are fine after many many such cleaning sessions. As you can see in the clip, mine are anti-glare too. Previous glasses cleaned with a tissue had scratches which were obviously the missing particles of the anti-glare layer, so... I don't know but I'm not afraid to apply this method. I guess it works for me and the dish liquid isn't that much strong to damage the structure - no visible evidence of it so far.

  • OK ill try it thanks for helping

  • ohh ok... thanks for replying soo quickly!! i was actually thinking of doing it lol!

  • can you do this with any kind of glasses??

  • I don't think so. I tried on my 2nd pair with full frame and it didn't work. But I guess it wasn't because of the frame but glass itself. My bro cleans glasses with full frame and it works. I don't know what the rule is, then.

  • VERY useful video, I always get annoyed by the smudges on my glasses and I finally know how to get rid of them, haha. Plus of course I have 5 minutes to spare for cleaning my glasses! Probably will take less than 5 minutes once I get good at it.

  • The video lasts 5 minutes being slow-action as a tutorial. The actual cleaning takes about 1 or 2 minutes. Thx for your comment, I know exactly what you're feeling about smudges.

  • nice 5/5

  • Reality9O's comment (deleted by chance):

Lol...youve got waaay too much free time, glasses get dirty so easy and so often, theres no way a person can do that everytime... lame..

    FIRST RESP.

Much time I do have-not too much. I can clean clean my glasses everytime and the method works perfectly 4 me. Since I've learnt about the way, I'll not use cloth any more - only as a last resort. Why lame? Easy to say, harder to explain yourself. Justify ur opinion, or u'll be perceived as an ignorant

  • Comment removed

  • I don't get you at all. Behaving like envious or something... It seems, you really are an ignorant. Otherwise you'd at least check how much time such cleaning takes. It takes way less than "traditional" method - in my case. Still you haven't given reasons why the video is lame... So? Critique is fine... as long as it's constructive. I don't acknowledge just stupid talking that's why I'm responding.

  • Comment removed

  • As I thought: 1 - you have nothing to say 2 - that's why you're vulgar 3 - you don't know what to say 4 - that's why my logic wins 5 - you know you can't say anything wise 6 - that's why you would want me not to reply 7 - i am replying to "feel all big and powerful in front of my virtual netbuddies" Owned! :P P.S. You lost double-wise: loosing arguments and time to watch the vid and comment... I feel sorry for you. Hugs. ;-) Cheers
  • seriously i stopped readin after the 2)

just stfu geek ur a total time waster

  • So why are you still here wasting time with me? :) You've just made a fool of yourself, that's why. Good you are ashame of your comments - that's why you've deleted them (I thought you'd do so.). I'm bringing them back for you, because what's said, it's said. Let the people see.

  • THE ORIGINAL Reality9O's COMMENT WAS:

Perceived as ignorant? Even once a day is too much, and yes, you obviously got Too ( I repeat:) TOOO much free time to be making lame videos like this.

Sitting there rubbing your glasses as if it was a pussy...whatever you do your shit ill do mine, i may get scratcy glasses but atleast ill save a year or two of my life.

    peace

  • 2ND:

Whatever dude, this whole shit is lame no wonder it only got barely 300 views. Im not even having this argument, call me whatever you want ill take the word ignorant if you want youre still the fag here. Go drown yourself in some dish-liquid.

Oh, and go get a haircut. Im not responding to your crappy comments so dont even make an effort replying unless you wanna seem all big and powerful infront of your virtual netbuddies.

This is just a waste of time, just like the 5 min vid of yours.
