  • Portobello Road.. now like any other street in Islamabad...

  • ♫This is the song that never ends!♫

  • i wish i had a magic bed (:

  • six people just wanted to find the other half of that damn book

  • I've never seen this unedited version before. Good show, what.

  • Ever since I first saw this movie as a little kid, I always felt that woman in the yellow dress with the black bow on her shirt and the yellow bow on her head (4:08-4:11, the one in the middle) looked a lot like my aunt.

  • 6 people didnt have fun in Portobello Road.

  • six people would rather go to a shopping full of retail stores.

  • 5:45 The original Minister of Silly Walks!

  • haha that is so funny i come from germany and now i come in the 9th grade and my english book called every year portobello road !!!

  • I just watched this again today, I haven't seen it in years and both me and my mum burst out singing along with this song.

  • yeah it seems like i don't remember most of this... must've added some to this... still good though...

  • i dont remember part 1:50 to 2:25 being in the movie--is this the first draft of the song?

  • @buzybaba I remember it in the movie. Maybe you had an edited version.

  • It's still like this on Portobello Road.

  • @salexo9 really?

  • When the Turkish dancers arrive, this shit gets real.

  • Saw this when I was little =)

  • the costumes are so cute

  • Nice to see you Brucie!!

  • 3:28 - 3:32 a glimpse of Bruce Forsyth ??

  • 5:11 turkish special forces

  • Such a fantastic film. Does anyone know the style of dancing the old guy does at 5.40? I know it's a certain style, but I don't know what it's called.

  • I do the dance at 5:40 at all my church dances...people tell me I look like an octopus.

  • This was always my favourite scene from Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I remember standing in front of the TV in the front room and trying to copy all the dances. Needless to say, it didn't go very well.

  • in portobello road

  • Comment removed

  • So essentially Portobello Road is London's version of Chinatown in New York.

  • When you think about Portobello Road is not a safe place for kids.

Harlets in the streets, old ladies crystals, and geizures with pistals... Shoot, I wouldn't go there if I new the way.

  • @incrediblehulkmovies not to mention Bruce Forsyth!

  • at 5:40, is there a name for this kind of dancing. Its the sex.

  • @derkcloud I'm gonna learn how to do that dance if it kills me trying.

  • the scene with the old women dancing's been removed from this clip! D:

should be @ 6:36, but it's been removed... guessing this copy of the movie got ran through the mid east @ some point in time...

  • This movie is a true jewel !

  • The lady at the end of the clip on the right, is that the same woman who was on All in the Family?

  • 3:34-3:40 that was cold what he told them both, with his table manners. I don't like to correct anyone, however should just simply say "we don't have any used books here" or "we don't have a part of that book here" in a polite and gentle manner.

  • i love this film and this song is the best one

  • the Irish dance at the end was ALWAYS my favorite part!!

  • I just love how in 7:50 Eglantine gets into it! lol...

I wish I could get my partner to dance so easily!

and that woman appearing out of nowhere to join their little circle dance. It's so joyous I'd do the same! I love that part of the song.

  • @abraxasbrother I love that part, too!!! When I was little I used to make my brother watch that part. Then recently, I make my bf watch it and he loves it, too. Especially the chick in the pink just running up to them. LOVE IT!!!

  • I LOVE THIS PART!!

  • I like the Grandpa in 5:47 so much XD

  • hahahahah when i was a child i though that the hookers were just poor girls...

Damn I'd like to go to portobello road someday...

  • I LUV the old man starts to dance at 5:36 !! When i was a child , i laughed as a MAD !!

  • kinda Charlie Chaplin ;) But awsome ^^

  • I alwased loved Disney songs, but this is GREAT!

  • HA! hookers 1:35 -1:40

  • It's funny how you don't realise that kind of stuff when you're young.

  • HOLY CRAP!!!

    1:49

    Never seen that part!

  • Doesn't look like much work ever gets done on Portobello Road.

  • Of course not, everyone's too busy dancing in the street.

Like how i made another song reference?

  • My favorite part of this is, and always will be at 2:42. I can't tell you why, it makes me laugh every time.

  • I really miss the music and songs they used to put in Disney movies. This is one of my favorite parts of the movie because they were able to combine so many cultures and styles in only 10 minutes ^_^

  • what are those guys in turbins called?

  • They're called Sepoys. Indian soldiers recruited by the british empire and dispersed throughout it's colonies.

  • @sentrei Thanks for that round of information on the Sepoys. I never knew about that. That's cool !!!! Weird dancing but the music sounds were cool.

  • @wmuir16 maybe part of the turkish special forces

  • I thought it was irish.Cos the carrie went and joined in and loved it, and she is irish

  • i like the scotts dance at 5:54 - 6:38

  • yes... me to! its hott in a way! ;)

  • O.o disney films are the best! i still watch lion king (: and am 17 .. cuz am cool tbh(I) I lovee this song! (:

  • Disney films are the best

  • Comment removed

  • call me crazy, but i actually like watching older disney movies on vhs because it makes me feel like i'm still a kid

  • I have the same sensation as you. I love all the old disney films, i think this one is goegeous and so the song <3

  • @ifrickinrulerome ditto.

  • @ifrickinrulerome Although i am 26 i still feel like a kid. I am an adult, yes, but in my opinion you can only be happy when you allow yourself to be both a child as an adult :D

  • One of my favorite parts from this movie

  • I was absolutley in love with this movie. Kinda still am. But my dad sold our VHS and ALL of the old disney classics so i cant see any of them

  • It's kind of rare for a movie from this time period to really highlight all the other cultures in any given city. Kind of ahead of it's time, in a way.

  • Scots FTW!

  • Ya alot that I can't remember but this gives me me goose bumps

  • Re the hookers - he does say everything and anything a chap can unload...

  • This number is great because it showcases the British Military Units participating in WWII

  • LOL! I love the look on Angela's face when the hookers walk by!

  • I bought this movie for 100 sec, it was the world every penny I gave for it. Google translation.

  • 8:07 -8:35 ? I dont remember that part at all

  • I think in the remastered version they added some extra material that was not previously included.

So there are two different versions of the movie! This is the newer one.

  • I had the orginal vhs version and i now have the newer version, and that scene is not in either.

  • Even though this is an old comment, i feel compelled to explain. Technically this 'cut' is the OLDER version. Originally they had a full cut, but as legend goes, someone just up and disappeared with it. Sometime in the early 2000's, it reemerged, and disney released it.

  • I'm just wondering...Some scenes in this video are new to me, I think they cut out some parts in the german version. They also cut out "The age of not believing", a verse from "substitutiary locomotion" and so on... :( Really bad. I love this film!! :)

  • aside from the part with substitutiary locomotion with the armour coming to life. This is my other favorite part of the film! all the mixture of different style dancing is blended so well and its a darn catchy song too X3.

  • 5:40 that guy who was dancing makes me laugh everytime i see him dance

  • the bit at 4:11 onwards was that in the film, i really don't remember that bit x

  • That man, he played Mr Banks in Mary Poppins, right?

  • The best thing I see in this whole song is the unity in all of the different countries during WW2. America, England, India, Jamaica, Scotland, Africa. I love it all!!

  • yea jamaica was a nice touch to add some color in the music and to the streets

  • that's one of the main reasons this is my favorite song. The mixture of styles is brilliant!

  • i used to watch this film every day when i was young.

  • I love this song.

I always rented this movie when I was a little girl. I nicknamed it 'the movie with the 2 boys and 1 girl'.

  • i have a dvd called that!its a bit different to this though, more rimming and double penetration for 1 thing..

  • Wow this brings back good old memories. I love the movie! I am going to London this Thursday and of course I will go to Portobello Road. I am already looking forward to it!

  • love how Ms Price was there busy lookin' for the book and there's a guy dancing on the table lol...then he makes her dance and she likes it ha

  • i love portobello road, it's raher near by

  • Bello. Nella versione in italiano non c'è tutta questa roba.

I never seen this version: the italian version is most short

  • Lol I knew someone will make a remark about the indians.

for once i wish there was no racist comment in a movie.

  • Sad that people have to resort to racism isn't it? It's the 21st century folk - throw your backward thinking out the door.

  • I've been on this road when I was in England. Bought a nice bust from there.

  • just had a thought... the bloke at 5:40 (ish).. could he have been the first every robotic/breakdancer? he started a craze!

  • It could be David Elsewhere past life.

  • love it when he goes on the piano and the whole street just go nuts lol, wish it was still like that :'( dancing in the street and a piano for a fiver. :D

  • bedknowbs shoul definitely have to go on Broadway and find its theatrical version.

    It's a masterpiece!

  • I love it when the sikh soldiers come in (5:04) The music totally changes. And what's up with their dancing??? I LOVE IT!!!!

  • my favourite part is wher the sikh soldiers walk round the bend.the music's so hypnotic.its awesome

  • like I said I'd get shit for saying this, but seriously I'm doing nothing but stating the obvious, no need to like spam my opinion.

  • Asian invasion 5:04 lol

  • okay I don't even mean to sound racist when I say this but I'm sure it will come off that way, but if I was walking down the street and the part at like 5:04 or so I think I would like shit

  • i love this kind of movies.....another time...another space....they don't do such films...anymore.....

    where imagination is first........

  • One of my favourite films of all time. I'd still be slightly disturbed if the entire street burst into a song and dance routine though. :P

  • Apart from the cartoon sequence this is my favorite part from the film and I'm glad they extended for the 30th anniversary. It was the 30th anniversay edition that got me to look at director's cut at a different apart from the lord of the Rings this is my director's cut film.

  • lol, the thing with the ladies at 1:33 totally went over my head til now!

  • I know! I used to watch it with my grandparents when I was about 6 but know I'm old enough to get it I don't think I'll ever be able to watch it with them again! :)

  • 5:42 reminds me of The Ministry of Silly Walks lol^_^

  • Is this from the 30th anniversary DVD? 'Cause they have extra clips that they didn't have in the 1976 version. If so, then this is awesome! Thanks for posting this ^_^

  • I love this song

  • Is the girl the same girl who plays the white kitten in Aristocats?

  • no its not but it does sound like her. Carrie was played my Cindy O' Callaghan and the white cat was played by Liz English

  • I saw this as a child and bought the vhs for my children in the 80's and loved it more as an adult than I did as a child. I still sing the songs all the time. My daughter has the vhs, maybe she will be the next to love it as an adult? :)
