"Go around"?? Those students pay good money to get an education there. And you are gonna make them go around?

It was a protest that involved students, staff, proffessors, etc. There were alternate routes hence the "take another route". How hard is it to go around? does change and improvement happen by themselves? Will the administration give back what they take away? From history you'll know that when protesters and strikers win, somehow and almost miraculously, those in power satisfy the demands. So again, what is just is just. What part of if don't you understand?

I'm sure this protest and the occupation of Wheeler Hall cost the university money that could have gone towards keeping tuition down. Also, the UC has no choice but to raise tuition because it is getting far less funding from the state. This is a depression. The revenue just isn't there and raising taxes will simply close businesses, making revenue drop further.

I piled up the AP units and got a job to pay for my education at Cal.

Screw all you naysayers here. These people have a goal and good just cause. If your a student you should be in line supporting them rather than hurting there efforts. How much harder is it to go around?

If this was a peaceful protest you would let people walk through. Protest does not mean "illegally" blocking people's path. Police have the legal right to set up blockades under certain conditions. Protesters/picketers/etc do not.
