I prefer Red's version of this song because of the more powerful impact that their production portrays. Duran Duran's version is actually quite boring compared to Red's remake.

Red's song is powerful... but the original is more emotional... i know excatly how Simon felt when he lost his friend... i relate to him because i lost my mom back in 2001.. she was my best friend in the world... and..... fuck man im tearing up right now hearing this song... But this song is my favorite song of all time.. because it describes excatly how my emotions and mind feel when i think of my mom... She was the best mom i ever had.. :'(

I recommend listening to "RED-Ordinary World". The cover of this song. In my personal opinion, it is better. But i understand that they had the advantage of getting to improve upon the original.

@TransAmFormulaV8 I love Ordinary World and I like to check out the covers of the song. AuroraUK did it well, despite my immense hate for autotune; autotune fits it well. But what RED did was pretty horrible in my opinion. Elongated lyrics cracking for mediocrity and atrocious brutality of the chorus with the voice sync overlay like every other band does with their choruses now, it's detestable modernism without reason. If anything though, their music video was pretty good.

@TaillsDesus You've used many cleaver sounding words, but you haven't really given a fair reason for your dislike. I happen to love RED's version, it inspired a big decision in my life; but if I'd heard this version first, I wouldn't have listened to all of it, the tune, which remains unchanging throughout the song doesn't justify the amazingly deep lyrics, and almost seems as though the singer doesn't know what why he's singing... he hasn't been there. That's just my opinion.
