GREETING BLUES FANS! I'm a new 2010 acoustic blues artist from Mississippi. My goal is bring back this forgotten style to this new generation with NEW songs! I will upload first song November 25th 2010! Please SUBSCRIBE and thank you so much! I won't let ya down!
i couldnt disagree with you more on anything in this world....apart from maybe eric clapton, rory gallagher has done more for piedmont blues than anymore else
I believe this song is being sung to his wife, Cora Mae. He "accidentally" shot her in the leg and spent some time in prison. He didn't get to play at Carnage Hall because he was in prison when the opportunity arose.
Danlivingstone and slightlyphysyco would'nt know their arsehole from a hole in the ground........... They maybe separated by 60years but these 2 muppets would'nt know a musician if he kicked them in the mangina. If you can't say something intelligent or atleast informed then just SHUT UP and enjoy the music.
ok, u ubviously have no musical experiance if u dont understant what im talking about. and what u said was stupid, therefore being hypacritical. ASSHOLE
@DanLivingstoneMusi Rory Gallagher may have been white and Irish, but he was an authentic bluesman, he lived as hard as they did, drank as hard and played with as much genuine passion as any bluesman you'd care to name. He had a real reverence for this music, he didn't rip it off like Led Zeppelin. Rory was the real thing.
How brilliant is this version of this song?

what does he tune his guitar to?
Ukabumba 1 year ago
@Ukabumba
Standard tuning, occasionally tuned down a half step or so, or capo'ed up.

I finally found it... this was the melody fats domino uses in his song "the fatman"
I'd heard it before but didn't remember it was by bb fuller... even though he's one of my favourite ragtimey bluesmen (after gary davis)

I can tell my dog anywhere I hear him bark
I can tell my rider while I feel her in the dark.
Your the cold blooded murderer when you want me out your way, says that's all right mama you gonna need my help some day.
And you sing your gonna put me, woman, down in my lonesome grave
then you must remember I once have been your slave.
striprman 2 years ago 3
Now you give me the money baby and I'll catch that train and go
Now you see my rider tell her I said bring it home.
I aint had no lovin' since my gal been gone
There's two kind of people in the world that I can't stand
that's a lying woman and a monkey man.
MMMmmmmm

Great song. I think I prefer Rory Gallagher's cover, it's more upbeat and typical Rory Gallagher acoustic blues, but this version is still very good.
