Do you think anyone who sings today and finds women like Rosemary Clooney and Peggy Lee, etc etc to be their muses could be successful in finding a contemporary audience who appreciates this style of music ? I have been wondering for some time, because I like to sing their songs and their style at karaoke and it seems to be well-received...but that's just karaoke. :/
If you watch closer, you can see all the beautiful girls, they are not skinny!! Not like models starving to be skinny bones. there they have flesh and look good. They are very pretty, I wish it was the same today, and people wished to look like Rosemary Clooney instead of plastic Kim Kardasian or photoshoped Britney Spears, or just like skinny models.
if you watch the entire film, every song in the picture will "stick in your head"! it was a great score...particularly for a film. Films rarely did original musicals. "Red Garters" was a way ahead of its time.
@LawrenceDavis When I started readint your comment, I was thinking they didn't have 3-D in 1954! Then, I realized you meant you had seen it in person!
@MsLovelyKelly ....Actually, they DID have 3D in 1954...many films were shot that way for a two year period back then. I sat in a movie theatre and watched it, wearing polarized 3D glasses.
voice and singing - great show talent - what wonderful time document! Watch out for th stunt when the guy falls from the chait and swipes away the tray of glasses - unique stunt timing!!!
Rosemary Clooney was fantastic! What a beautiful voice and a beautiful woman. I also love her because she couldn't dance. Oh how those of us who can't long for the days when no one had to be a triple threat! haha
the first time i watched White Christmas (8 yrs old), that's when Rosemary Clooney became my idea of what the epitome of true beauty and personality all-around WAS!!! she's just so heart warming! :] and nobody sings like the talent during that time anymore.

This movie is AMAZING! And seeing as it's hard to find, I'm glad someone had the smarts to go and post of the songs. Thanks!

I saw this film when originally released......in 3D!
Now that 3D TVs are finally coming out, I sure hope they re-issue this in full three dimensions...it'll be a real treat to watch.

I love the fact that Rosemary Clooney was never really "thin." She looked healthy with her curves.
