Wow, people in Ireland have heard of Herman? I'm impressed! :-D
Yes, Herman won Best In Show in the 2007 AGS Virtual Show. (I'm guessing that's where you saw him?) Herman competed in live shows, too, and earned his Championship at the New England Show in May, so he's retired from show now. He spends his time now with his son Sebastian. :)
Herman's definitely more than just a pretty face. He has loads of charm and is one of the sweetest, friendliest, most outgoing gerbils I've ever had.
Yes that was where I heard of him. I can't imagine how exciting it must have been to win BIS - my two won thirds in the Mottled and White Belly classes in the 2008 show, plus a top 10 in the People's Choice. I was on cloud 9 for days after that, lord only knows what I'd have been like if I'd won BIS!
I wish there were championship shows for me here to enter my gerbils in. I know I have a few that would do very well. You're really lucky!
Ah, yes! I remember both Acadia and Sandpiper from the show! Acadia has such a pretty mottling pattern! (You should feel very good, too, that Sandpiper did so well in the White Belly class. The competition was fierce. The gerbil who won 1st in that class went on to win Best In Show at the Midwest Gerbil Show in October! So Sandpiper competed with the best! Congrats!)
Herman is taking a nap with Sebastian right now, but when he wakes up, I'll give him a sunflower seed for you. :)
I'm working on gradually eliminating the sides. But this was only Herman's fourth day of training, so he's not disciplined enough yet to get rid of them entirely. Maybe by next weekend??? :)
I tried adding a tube last night, but he was very hesitant to run through it. I think I'll have to work with him and add the tube into the course slowly. :)
yeh,if he suceeds that, you could eventually add something clever and imaginative like the agility video of Kökö!!....something that will amaze people more than a normal agility video,i also have some tips how to train it so it will go in axaclty the same path...its hard to describe now,i will message u it instead, but its basicly how 2 train the sort of odd things like the Kökö video, but even more extaudinary,i didnt include it in the training video because it would take 2 long...and to confusing
I would *love* that if you could message some of these tips to me! I would love to know how to help Herman go in the same path every time, and I would also love to know how you trained Koko to do her agility video. That was amazing!!
Please do message me some tips. This will be fun. :)
