indeed ! that IS a bess, very -very well seasoned and having seen service in both 200th and 225th anniversaries of the revolution. I have seen it in person, I believe it has been as far south as Charleston and as far north as Novascotia during it's service!
@1CommissarStrelnikov Its owner, whom I believe you also are familiar with, has likewise been as far South as Charleston and as far North as Nova Scotia! It's a Brown Bess that has a lot of character and a lot of mileage. The enemies of the 35th Regiment, however, seldom travel so much when they face us on the field. Six feet underground and no farther.
@CrownRoyal1945 The first song is "Marche Militaire" by Strauss. The second is "Sussex By the Sea" (for the Royal Sussex Society). I've no idea what the last tune is.
@universalcarrier Thanks for the compliment. The feather is the Roussillon Plume, an old regimental tradition we do for the Royal Sussex Regimental Association in the UK.

@RoyalSussexSociety
Just a little minor correction, Marche Militaire was written by Schubery not Strauss :p

@MrSchweden Yes, Schubert! You are quite correct, my mistake.

A British grenadier with an Austrian musket?! How uncouth, but a jolly good grenadier nonetheless.
SuperJogvan 1 year ago
@SuperJogvan Thanks very much, though there are no Austrian muskets, old chap. These are Brown Besses--as British as the Thames.
RoyalSussexSociety 1 year ago
@RoyalSussexSociety Fair enough. At 5:28 it looks rather like an Austrian musket, but I must be mistaken. Carry on!

Quality work; the final part of grenade drill was priceless.
Any chance of a Victorian manual of arms?

@HazMatMedia Thank you! I am glad you liked the video and our 18th C. atomic hand grenade :)
We would like to do a Victorian instruction video at some point. No definite plans just yet.
