My all - time favorite basketball player!!! Gail had on of the most beautiful jump shots! The duo of West and Goodrich was awesome. I remember being about 10 years old watching Laker games on KBHK TV SF...........It only my opinion, but I rather watch West, Goodrich and Chamberlin than todays Lakers!! Plus, he was an excellent role model as a player and a person.
Gail was a phenomenal player. He was everywhere on the court. Boundless energy and stamina. An underrated player, he just may be one of the top 10 greatest or best guards in NBA history.
why the hell doesn't anyone talk about goodrich when he led the 71-72 lakers team in points both during the regular season and the playoffs? im from la, and so far, all the laker fans i've asked don't know who the hell im talking about. why haven't i heard of this guy before today?
Should've played his entire career with the Lakers if you ask me. THE missing link to that devastating '71-'72 squad that won it all no contest. Was great to see his number finally retired by the team.
@PeekaPeep. He should have stayed with Kareem but he wanted money and went to the Jazz. He needed a big man because with the ABA merger, taller and quicker players came into the league on the guard position like Don Buse. That forced him to hold the ball longer.
gail goodrich was manu ginobili before manu ginobili.... or should i say manu ginobili is gail goodrich after gail goodrich :)

This "little man" averaged 25.9 points a game during that championship season of 1971-72. More than West AND Chamberlain. Amazing.

@dwillv
Because most LA Faker fans are bandwagoners and have no clue about the history of their franchise
Theyd rather stick kobes mamba in their mouth
