She shows so much respect and reverence here. Cash was one in a million and she just may rival him by the time all chips are counted. Thanks Nora for realizing what kind of a talent JR Cash had.
There is beauty in her voice that combined with this song is absolutely moving. I'm a cynical person when it comes to music and talent, but I feel like crying every time I hear this. She took this song and made it her own.
Johnny, now I know why you went to Polson County Jail. Just as I did, but mine was to Hudson County Jail but in a different way & circumstances, let's just say Shaw Shank Redemption Part 2 as you were always on my mind. Your loyal & faithful friend, John
I´m sure Johnny Cash cried when he watched & listened this song wherever he is.... Norah should be recognized over any other "singer". I agree, she´s a true talent and by the way, VERY GORGEOUS!!
In a PERFECT world music would all be on an equal plane, no matter the genre. And even though you and maybe many other people don't like it does not mean it is not appreciated by someone else.
You will find me listening to johnny, norah, along with taylor and arcade fire. Then i will listen to blink 182 and green day with a side of string cheese incident and phish. Then ill fly on down to guy mitchel, then the beatles. Then to linkin park.

This proves that country lady singers pray, because if Norah Jones starting singing country music, she would kick serious ass -- both in the market place and at the award shows !!

@MrTranspo52 yeah, it is Joaquin Phoenix and he is actually very good singer too - he sang all the songs in Walk the Line movie and sounded as good as Johnny Cash. that's why he was playin guitar and also singing one song during Johnny's tribute btw.
Wireless worms are mistaken lights at every step on my path, my imperfect heart, you can catch it, given the ways blaze in the strange questions, the door opens in your arms, invisible beside you, it transforms an entire country, the sign the infinite time, the green walls to understand that meaning.

@maltzlovincreampies Your absolutely right, but then she wouldn't be a special talent anymore (the ones that really sing to our souls) just another Pop star.
Well, after listening to Nora Jones sing this song day after day as I can't help but hear it again and again without any doubt it's the most beautiful song I've ever heard. @itsgoneitsgone Absolutely spot on. Why the hell isn't this talented lady paraded more into the public consiousness? She has it all. So melodic, captivating, mysterious and ethereal; if a soul has a voice, this is what it sounds like. Better still, she conducts herself effortlessly with dignity, grace and refinement. What a rare gem is she. Cheers
i used to listen to this song in the morning when i was in high school, n after listening this i always thought my rest of the day will be wonderful......
I was looking for Home of the Blues by Johnny and I found this version. I wasn't expecting something that beautiful, I just thought eh, never gonna beat Johnny's version... and now I don't know which one I like best lol. Amazing singer.
You have to remember she grew up with music and humbled at the same time. Her Father is Ravi Shankar, who taught George Harrison how to play the sitar. She is the real deal and takes music serious..whether you like it or not..she'll keep playing what makes her happy and won't be sucked into the pop mainstream.
I've got 2 albums of Norah Jones at home: Not too late and The Fall at home excluding a fake Feels like home Deluxe edition (still the music is the matter not the Chinese box set)... And the reason I falls in love with Norah simply because recently I can hardly find any artist who really sings their heart out but a few outstanding ones, with Norah it's something different, it feels like she's talking to you, telling you a story and you can actually blend in and feel it. She's just GREAT
Few singers/musicians can really touch ytour mind, heart, body and sould all at once, but lord thank you so much for blessing us with the Amazing Norah Jones!!! SGT Nielsen, 35 M in the US ARMY, in EL Paso TX.
Norah and her half sister Anoushka Shankar's voices have their late father- Ravi Shankar's DNA. It's no wonder they can send shivers down my spine when they sing/play music.
@smkonwater23 Ravi Shankar is not dead. He's 96 I THINK, but not dead. He and George Harrison's wife just released a cd box set of their musical collaborations. Very beautiful.
Amazing, she's so serene. There is nothing vulgar about her, no shock value needed to sell the amazing talent in her. Then we have pop stars like Katy Perry, Kesha etc. who have no talent, and so they use shock value and vulgarity in order to 'sell'.
