Actually we can generate ball lightning in a lab. We first learned how to do it when the phenomenon was discovered in submarines as farting sailor methane reacted with battery banks, thus "swamp gas" was ignited by electrical charge and became ball lightning. It is actually quite easy to duplicate knowing that.

Well, no, a lie is a deliberate attempt to mislead. I concede on further research that scientists are still perplexed by ball lightning. To say that it has never been produced in a laboratory or that submariners didn't see it on their batteries during WW2 is also incorrect. Both have happened, but the phenomenon is still of uncertain (and possibly multiple) causes.
