I like your ideas; but please leave out the personal criticism. People will steal your stuff and don't bring your kids.. WTH. Using Goodwill strategies while calling them dirty and filled with thieves is not cool. I DON'T WORK FOR GOODWILL. I have gone "junkin" for over 20years and do find amazing deals at Salvation Army, Goodwill, ADA-thriftstores..and countless others.

@kmpjll97 I agree.I do like some of katie's tips, but I would like to say too--dirt is everywhere. Even in department stores... There have been a number of specials that talk about the things that can be found on clothes in some of your TOP clothing stores. If you have to do all of that--gloves--etc., then the person needs to find another place to shop. It is not that serious...

I think she gives some good pointers I've bet you've never been there (I have never been there) its not just your regular thrift store or department store. when I get the chance to go there I will bring gloves. Department store and thrift store don't have bins you can go through and broken glass (Outlet store must be a lot different )

My goodwill outlet store is always full of crotchety ladies who push and shove to get all the good stuff before anyone has a chance of seeing it. They literally walk around with 2 of the cart things that you fill, grab all the newest stuff that's put out and just shove it into their bins, then when it settles down and they know they got all the good stuff, they go sit in a corner and sift through their finds and toss all the 'junk' back into the bins.. it's literally a madhouse

Drives me bonkers. I love goodwill but the closest outlet store is a 45min drive away. So close yet so much gas away lol. Little tip if your looking for gloves check the gardening department. Garden gloves for ladies are smaller and still just as tough. The ones with the rubber grip side are the best. Leather cowgirl gloves are good too but much more expensive. My lady friend was blessed/cursed with tiny hands as well :)
