Akkaev was the best and should have come back with the gold. I don't understand why he competed in group B where he should have been in group A. Ilya, should not have been credited with 180 KG, that was obvious he did not control the weight and his knee buckled and he released early, even my 90 year old mother of my grandmother saw that. Symon is a steroid cheater who was suspended for four years and should not have been allowed to compete in the first place. Akaev Khadjimuorad all the way
A friend of mine does weight lifting and told me about Tribestan for strength! Apparently the original Bulgarian Tribulus product used by weight lifters from Europe especially when they were winning in the 70's. Got mine from TRIBESTANUK.CO.UK. and my strength went through the roof. And my friend from Eastern Europe swears by this.
I have noticed that almost all Polish weightlifters have relatively weak legs, especially when getting out of the whole. If they fixed that problem, we could expect some records from Poland!
I agree within reason. Kolecki seems to have extreme trouble exploding out of the hole. But, Marcin Dolega seems to have the power to explode out of the hole with ease.
More speculation; watching the Poles training, them seem to do alot of snatches where they simply get into the full squat and drop it. Looking at Dolega with his insane snatch, but he doesnt seem to have the raw strength for big cleans, same as Kolecki.
True. But, Dolega set that world record in the snatch with 199 a couple years back. Although, most footage (other than complete footage of a competition) only seems to highlight their snatchs.
The Dolega boys (all of them) are much better lifters in their own weights than Kolecki, personal opinion of course. I was never overly fond of Kolecki and his lifting.
Kolecki clearly doesn't have the leg strength of many of the other 94kg lifters but manages to match them by relying on perfect positions, timing and technique. He can pull with the best of them, but where Ilin will stand with anything he can rack, Kolecki could rack just about anything but not stand up. I think his height within his weightclass is a large contributing factor. When he has an extra 4kg or so you can see how much easier his cleans are.
yeh i think you have it spot on there, but then surely the polish team need to ask themselves; why they aren't doing more work on the squats?
it would benefit them hugely in both lifts, i mean take for example marcin dolega: strong snatch (has even done 202.5 in training) but poor c and j = 225, which seems to be the same throughout the polish team, so maybe they need a new coach?
Instead of a new coach, because their coach is a good one, getting them to the top level in snatchs, but CJs...
Maybe Mr. Polands Coach needs to assign more time and dedication to squats... Back squats, front squats, snatch squats... Split squats! (I don't know if any of you do split squats, but I have found they have helped with my jerks).
Actually its kolecki who owns the world record in the clean and jerk in the 94 kg class with 23something. And he sat that record at the ripe age of 17!!!!

Just my opinion.

i agree, dolega in my opinion really struggles with the clean and jerk. and in this sport it isn't enough to be good at one lift

'whole'? don't you mean 'hole'?
