  • @conansgrandpa Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm sorry, but I do not know the brand and size. You can get any skillet out there to use whether it's the gas version or electric version.

  • It went very well my dear loved it n thank you for sharing it as well!;)

  • Don't you put lime in it? I see my brother in law make it he always add lime butt then again he str8 from cambo so Myb they do it different there? If at all

  • @rasni401 I think the lime he's putting is for the sourness (I know...creating my own word...hehe!) and that's where the tamarind base comes in. Lately though, I've been substituting the tamarind base for tom yum paste.

  • You should try coconut soda instead of water and switch roasted peanut for actual peanut butter it will make the Yao-hon broth very tasty.

  • @khmerbutterflygrl Oh wow! That is different and sounds delish. I will try that the next time. Thanks so much for your positive input!

  • MmM looks soo damn yummy!! love all of ur videos =)

  • @XxXSaNdy603XxX Thanks so much!

  • where im at i dont see the tamarind base...can i do without? or is a major need?

  • i make it a whole diff. way but it seemed weird with the tamarind base lol...just had to ask =)......It totally sucks being in an american suburbs....no asian ingredients at all =|

  • @killakane215 You can substitute tamarind base for tom yum paste (hot and sour paste)

  • Hi killakane215! No, it's not a major need, but only for preference. I like mines on a sour side as well.

  • Hey Renda! How are you doing? What a small world huh? Hehe! • Hello, My wife is pregnant with our 1st child and she is craving Patlou. If you could please email me the recipe and I'll try to make it for her. Thank You.

  • Hi PreanNary! I have to get this recipe from my mom first and when I do, I'll email it to you through the msg box instead of comments box. Congrats on your first child! My first child is due this summer so I understand cravings and I'm glad that you're doing something about it b/c my husband doesn't understand.

  • It thought its pronounced ''Yao-hon'' not ''Ya-hon'', Im guessing thats the Phnom Penh Dialect because my parents are from Battambang.

  • You're right ScionT2B...my mom is from Battambang too. I guess my khmer isn't that clear.

  • Can You Show me how to make PatLou?

  • Hi PreanNary! I'm sorry, but I don't know how to make it b/c I don't really like to eat it. My mom usually makes it though and I can get the recipe from her if you'd like.

  • Hi I'm new to You Tube. Just wanted to let you know it's great watching you cook, do makeup, nails, etc... You are very talented!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you very much spleasant1 for watching my videos.

  • OOO I like this!! LOL I love how you just toss things into the pot and loot each other meat. LOL

  • LOL! Thanks k1ky00!

  • I miss eating ya-hon!!!

  • I tried your recipe, the tamarind soup base made the soup sour. It didn't taste good like I thought it would. I like how I usually cook mine. Thanks for posting the recipe because I been looking for recipes on cambodian food, since I love to cook cambodian food. However, I haven't found any good recipes yet.

  • Yes, that was the purpose of the tamarind soup base for my version...to have a sour kick to it as long as you do not overdose it. You're welcome and good luck finding your "good recipes". Please share if you do find some.

  • I usually cook the noodles in the broth, than the meats and veggies on top.

  • you're welcome jong poeuv lake muay !! thanks for answering all Serey1 comments, you shouldn't have,i'm wasting away your life, yet i benefit much from your instructional videos,i have nothing to offer but my thanks, well so long love,i'm off to another instructional video now " how to play piano " ;)

  • Hi bummers417! There are many versions of this hot pot. I do not know the title/artist of this song but if you provide me your email addy, I can email it to you via triple w's(dot)yousendit(dot)com

  • I was finally able to make this dish yesterday for my family. My husband loved it. thank you so much for the reciepe

    Thanks for sharing .

  • Yes, this is one of the many hot pots. You're welcome CDDANIEL911!

  • Your videos are awesome! Thanks for posting these. I will subscribe to you.

  • Thank you very much sodavan for taking the time to watch my videos and subscribing.

  • I see that you don't like cooking with Kapi? I absolutely hate the smell of Kapi, but I love the flavor it gives. Try less fish sauce, put some Kapi in there, and use palm sugar instead of white sugar. Its more authentic using palm sugar and I think it has a better flavor.

  • Hi again Trilinguist. Who said that I don't like Kapik? Have you ever watched my somlor curry tutorial? I believe that Kapik goes with certain soups, but this yahon style is my way. I've tasted different types of yahon styles and this is what I had created through my own preference. I totally agree with you on the differences b/t palm sugar and white sugar but as I had stated in my last 2 comments for you (on my other videos), not everybody has a farmer's market down the road from them.

  • Wow! I've never had this recipe before...it looks really good though! I love the song for this video, by the way.

  • Thank you very much ThaiLakornFanatic!

  • thank u ,, do u have more to cook, i been cookin from ur reciep it good thanks a lot..=)

  • Thank you sophiejabjabb and yes, I hope to make more videos within the next coming weeks.
