  • Thumbs up if Green Street Hooligans brought you here!

  • i got myself a ticket to the roses them in heaton park Manchester get in :p

  • @dannybantam19 lucky buggar, id love to go but being a uni student cant afford the ticket >"<

  • @Thexderx- dude radiohead are f cking legends. Stone roses would've been too if they came out with more than two albums

  • @covertsniperr96 radiohead are pretentious sons of bankers

  • @MrTrotskysGhost- ok, when you write a song as good as paranoid android get back to me on that, k?

  • @covertsniperr96

Dosn't matter how many albums they've released.Stone roses had two class albums.Radiohead have released alot of shit to be fair...

  • Green Street Hooligans!

  • ようこそ♪フジロックフェスティバルへ(゜ロ゜)

  • I think Brown can't sing and he's a useless 'front man', but he is the voice (on the occasions he's in tune) of TSR - replacing him wouldn't work. I hope he's grown up a bit now and won't be such a t**t.

  • @laverings How I agree so much, the Madchester hype and lie now exposed in the true light of day.

Auto tune on full blast for the whole album!

  • @laverings sounds in tune to me

  • Will be there 29th of June :)

  • @bclayt me to :)

  • People say that Ian Brown is a bit of a talentless gobshite, but the Roses without him is unimaginable.

  • Got my tickets. Feel sorry for those who couldn't manage to, roses forever!

  • who asis?

  • I got tickets!!! like this if you have

  • The best outro ever?... I think so.

  • I don't get the Stone Roses or Radiohead. I just feel like killing myself after listening too them. It's just dreary and boring music. Same loops over and over.

  • @Thexderx

Why bother looking them up on youtube and commenting then?

  • @Charko2006 I haven't' heard them for 20 years, they just a big press release about coming back, so I thought I would reacquaint myself with their music...does that satisfy to you all why I was here checking their music? After 20 years, their music hasn't improved, despite my ever changing tastes....Thank you for respecting my opinion!

  • @Thexderx Thanks for sharing with us why you're here and what you think of the Stone Roses. I just didn't know how I was going to get through the day until I knew this important information.

  • @Thexderx thanks for your opinion, why dont you go listen to something you do like

  • @Thexderx I agree Stone Roses "loops over and over", but Radiohead? I don't think so.

  • @Thexderx What the hecks the matter with you man.

  • @Thexderx I'm not a fan of Oasis. For that reason, I don't look up Oasis songs on YouTube. Simple really.

  • @Thexderx WHat sort of music are you into, then?

  • @MrThreshold2009 Obviously not this. It's just the same simple riff over and over and over and over and over....you get it! Not that I don't like simple music, but I just find this stuff dreary and makes you want to commit suicide.

Very overrated in my opinion...but that said, each to their own.

  • @Thexderx No one gives a shit

  • @Thexderx Yes, it's each to their own. For me Waterfall's pretty much my favourite song and it's all about the beautiful lyrics, Reni's drumming and backing vocals. But I've mainly been getting into classical recently; Mozart, Beethoven etc. I think The Stone Roses is a bad example, though, for depressing music! Joy Division and The Smiths were a bit ahead of them. Ignore Coshema, everyone has different taste.

  • Good luck with the comeback guys, hope there's some great new stuff.

  • Legends! So glad they've made up and are back together! av it

  • stoneroses comeback 2k11!

  • The beatles, the sex pistols, the smiths, the stone roses, oasis Live Forever!

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • If a Snow Patrol advert ever comes on again before this song, I'm going Raul Moat.

  • @OTSTRETFORD Could be worse, could be Bieber ads.

  • @OTSTRETFORD and il b Gazza with a pizza

  • @OTSTRETFORD hahaha

  • This is a good song to learn on drums.

  • this song is about american dominant influence over britain, over british life, values, culture, financially, what wars we are involved in, etc. john squire was a massive fan of the clash I guess the lyrics were inspired by "im so bored with the usa"

  • @Anotherrnumber I think this song is about a break up.

  • @Anotherrnumber At last someone who hears the lyrics of the Roses lol

  • Stone Roses lyrics just get better as I get older

  • Oasis/smiths/neworder/joy divison are the best bands to come out of manchester, but there are loads of amazings bands but none con touch any of these.

  • This makes me think of taking a wash.

  • Can't tell if this song is about a girl or an actual waterfall. So beautiful either way.

  • @ThePunkrocker8 I think it's about Great Brittian as an island.

  • @Sndrtj iam feeling that never thought of it from a non human perspective before do you know summet we dont

  • God this song makes me so bloody happy

  • great song!!

  • ANTHEM

whether theyre better than oasis or not is irellevant.

  • the stone roses - oasis for people with taste!

  • @GriefTourist The Stone Roses - another great band. Seriously how does this get thumbs up, they are different and amazing in thier own ways. Taste is subjective as is your opinion so STFU and listen to whatever you want without being a hipster and slagging off what other people enjoy.

  • @LugarBear

    lol

  • Hopefully the Roses will get back together and do a few more albums.

No reason why not, and they still have all the talent in the world.

Led Zeppelin were together from 68 to 80, Roses from 83 to 95.

Zeppelin only ended with death of Bonham.

No excuse for Roses, as Reni never died, he just walked away.

  • @horse69outside oh its not as if you're putting thison every fuckinhg roses video

  • oasis AND stone roses are the best bands to come out of manchester. now stop the fuckin hate and just listen to them both and enjoy ,or dont call yourself a fan of either band YOU PRICKS RUIN EVERYTHING.

  • @WITYAHMAHDFANNY 'Oasis AND Stone Roses are the best bands to come out of Manchester' . . . . errr have you been smoking crack ? Stone Roses yes i won't disagree they are epic but Oasis ? Seriously ? i'm guessing you've never heard of Joy Division / New Order , The Smiths / Morrissey , The Fall and numerous more who are better than Oasis. don't get me wrong i love Oasis but don't making sweeping statements you can't back up with cold hard facts.

  • @StolenMonkey i love you xD

  • @natstercl15 awwww thanks. . . I love you too x

  • @WITYAHMAHDFANNY I'd have to put Joy Division/New Order at the top and The Smiths and Happy Mondays would have to be on any "best of" list. the Roses and Oasis are great bands no doubt, but New Order can blow your mind!

  • are u mad? joy division?? the same repetative, dreary and depressing joy division that had maybe 2 half decent tracks. The roses by far a greater band my friend

  • "after youve beat the brazil of the north the rest is crusing" 0:00 JIMMY GRIMMBLE

  • @joshandscott10 sik film tht is m8

  • How about we stop talking about Oasis, and concentrate on these guys?

  • Oasis are a bunch of overcoked fuckwits, wheras the Roses are a band that changed my life forever for the better. In my world there is only before I am the resurrection and after...

  • Yeah, I don't know why Oasis get talked about so much on Stone Roses videos. Don't get me wrong, they have three truly great albums (which included their b-sides collection) but the Stone Roses are completely different.

Tell you how good this album is - this song isn't even one of the best on that album!

  • remember listening to this song over and over on a walkman....on the way through the countryside to an airport to go to America when i was 16...hills all around.... just the perfect LP for travelling as a young idealistic kid. Greatest LP of our lifetime, no matter what anyone says. Waterfall and Resurrection. my idea of bliss.

  • I now know what God himself sounds like

  • oasis are shocking..i mean utter crap.

  • i mean when a song makes you feel so strong feelings ....

the first time I listen that song, I almost cry.... It's a perfect song right?

  • gallagher said " no roses would have meant no oasis". he's a clever bastard.

  • LOVE IT these guys and oasis are the best!!!

  • If 'true inspiration' decided to make a song, this is what it would sound like.

  • From Chile... Ella es una cascadaaa (8) así se dice acá..

Es muy buena canción para cantarla con todo la melodía y el ritmo (rythm!!)

Es para los románticos! como yo...

  • i am only 16 but i love the stone roses and there is a countless number of people my age who love them...and im from dundee never mind manchester! im not saying they are getting back or not all im saying is if they did it would be great because there are so many young people nowadays who havent had the privallage to see these guys live!

  • Did they release a strange 'album' called 'Turns into stone' that wasn't actually an album??

  • @johnnycheck99 It was a compilation of A sides and B sides done in chronological order 1988- 90. One unreleased track called Where Angels Play.

  • the band is getting back together , i read it today in the newspaper , brown and squire settled their feud their all close again because mani or renis mum died i cant mind what one , but THEY ARE BACK , hope they dont just tour i hope they make a few albums so we have more classics from the band !!!! LONG LIVE THE ROSES

  • @XboxKenny1992 that will be epic!! Heaton park should be a venue and 1 or 2 at knebworth everyone off their cake like old times for 1 night only.

  • @gwladysstreetlad sure will be epic but only IF they definetly reunite , lets just hope so after the 2 making up , im from glasgow so im hoping if they do that they come to glasgow i would get absolutely steaming if they came to glasgow im only 18 but i fucking love the stone roses <3

  • Beautiful musical evolution: The Beatles ------> The Stone Roses -------> Oasis

  • @nk801 Evolution!

  • indie is alright :|

  • @slaaaaave Someone with mental heath issues. Other than that this is the most perfect song in existence.

  • @slaaaaave Er, "health". Oh dear.

  • how did u work that 1 out brainscan , oasis n blur different era diffrent music ,or was u jst trying t make a joke ha ha ur proper funny u r !

  • I watched Ian Brown perform on Jonathon Ross with Noel Gallager It was so funny cause at the end ross turned to Noel and said why dont you get rid of Liam and have Ian in the band instead.

  • Great stuff guys, excellent music

  • Stone Roses...Smashing blokes, the lot! I saw them play once near Shropshire and Ian bought me a pint!

  • Why do people moan about how they dont like music that they're clearly listening to on youtube, if you dont like the band shut up and listen to music you like.

  • Why do people moan about how they dont like music that they're clearly listening to on youtube, if you dont like the band shut up and listen to music you like.

  • personally i love oasis, but i think the roses are better, their songs are so unique compared to other bands and u cudnt really put the roses in any sort of category or genre, thats wat made so unique and brilliant. as players they were brilliant, reni best drummer since keith moon, john squire great guitarist, mani gud bass player and brownie great at writing beautiful and wonderful lyrics, plus great frontman

  • 6 people need drowning...Fact

  • We played this at my dads funeral. Does'nt really seem appropiate but this was his favourite stone roses song and he died on a Sunday morning which is relevant to the opening line. Hope we meet again one day xxxx

  • @simeonstokesjohnson your awld man had impeccable taste mate!!!,,one day you will dance together to this i,m sure!!!!!

  • @simeonstokesjohnson that comment of yours was "intense" ..... May God reunite you and your father, and I0'mt not being sarcastic or anything but honest :) !!!!!!

  • @simeonstokesjohnson My father died on a Sunday morning as well. We will all meet again, friend, all of us.

  • fuck ian brown..Squire was the genius of this band

  • Oasis piss on stone roses :D

  • @tombone3 no blur does, all 3 are fuckin awesome though

  • @tombone3

Heck no!!! @SmokesomeJoseph is right! all 3 are awsome... <3...

  • @tombone3 oasis do not piss on the roses get a fucking grip do u sit in all day finding youtube videos to put stupid comments on fucking just enjoy the music

  • That opening guitar riff, I've always thought was the greatest. And years on, still do.

  • @claney01 Nah mate

    Money for Nothing

  • uhhh why are people talking about oasis this is a stone roses song who gives a fuck about anything else?

  • no matter how many time i hear this i will never get tired of it WHAT A FUCKING TUNE!

  • Ian and johnny marr should make somethin

  • this song is fucking awesome!!

  • No other band can give me goose bumps like The Roses!!

  • Great song and Great band i used to listen to this when i was about 5 and im nearly 18 now and it never gets old

  • @MsPreo What was the worst gig?

  • there were so many great brit bands in the 90s

  • great band !

  • Zomg... Tuuunneeee!!!

  • Man i'm in love. So so fucking trippy

  • magic. reminds me of the byrds. so light and airy. love it.

  • CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @davetvcoyne thats the exact thing i say every time i hear it on the radio :D

  • Epic!

  • frankly who gives a shit about this band does this, that band does that? - you like what you like for your own reasons - end of story - music is for everyone so you elitist snobby kids can go get your bottles filled and nappies changed.

Oasis are ratherdull though haha, but some great songs too, just not really my cup of tea.

  • @axemasterj dude....marry me :P

    joke by the way lol

  • @axemasterj well, said. if your looking for great melodies with a standard rock feel, go for oasis. if your looking for something totally original, but just as good, go for the roses

  • @axemasterj Same, boring band Oasis.

  • @axemasterj Thank fuck. you're talking sense mate.

  • Not popular at all here in Montreal, Canada...too sad!.... It sounds always new to my ears after all these years

  • @TheDirtyAngels English Montreal dumbs down with Virgin Radio, and French Montreal listens to garbage francophone pseudo-intellectuals with guitars. What Montreal needs is a good dose of Manchester up its ass.

  • stone roses rock..and so do oasis..2 brilliant bands..

  • Beautiful sound to this :D

  • I love the guitar playing church bells. What a divine song.

  • When Oasis first came out and I saw them on some Sunday morning music show I got the distinct impression that Liam thought he was Ian Brown. Personally I don't think Liam is fit to kiss Ian Brown's arse. The Stone Roses did in one album what I've never heard Oasis do in their entire catalogue...and I quite like Oasis.

  • @wesmatron

Quite agree mate, I love Oasis who are a fantastic band. Nothing to touch the Roses though (or the Smiths either imo). Noel Gallagher is on his way to being another Manchester - Ireland legend though ;)

  • Am I the only one who randomly thinks of reaching for the stars whenever the solo turns up?

  • 2:48 - 3:00....impressive...

  • Waterfall is a great song, but in my opinion Stone Roses only wrote 4 or 5 great songs, and only one classic album, and that's about it.

Oasis appeals to me much more than The Stone Roses, no one can beat 94-97 Oasis' albums, songs and live attitude and charisma, and their more recent albums still have Noel Gallagher's songwriting quality. Noel's a genius, so far the last one to come out of United Kingdom, music-wise.

    Peace.

  • Oh my god, the Stone Roses really make me feel a different experience than other bands do.

  • I always thought Oasis took their look from the Beatles...

    Oh wait, everybody did...

  • song of my lifetime genius slag off oasis all you like yes he took his image from ian brown , both bands on the same level and are both as influential as eachother . comment on only what you understand people .

  • song of my lifetime genius

  • This song makes me feel good and brings good memories

  • One point of comparison, both The Stone Roses and Oasis are massively overrated

  • Difference between oasis and stone roses?

From stone roses came a second summer of love.

From oasis came a summer of chavs.

  • @st3vi good comment! not a lot of depth to Oasis!

  • @thenowuk Thank you, just an observation i thought i would share. Its true though oasis spawned chavs and lager louts, from stone roses came a wave of love.

  • @st3vi oasis were a mainly agricultural beatles cover band...the stone roses showed influences from the byrds, good lennon solo albums, early rem, paul simon, velvets, clash, pet shop boys, the smiths etc etc...

in short: the stone roses were interesting and clever, oasis were tribally simplistic, insulting northern (to northerners, especially mancunians) and musically crass. oasis were gary glitter to the stone roses' t rex...imo.

  • @uclrichard Good points, well put.

  • Oasis versus Stone Roses? No comparison. Enough said

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool LOL XD

  • I <3 you cordel

    FOKING CLASS TUNE

    MADFERIT

    d'ya know what i mean?

  • Love Roses and Oasis. Both were amazing bands. Ian Brown and Noel Gallagher should make an album together.

  • @dopebozoish that would be awsome

  • @dopebozoish now that is a fucking amazing idea pal.

  • @dopebozoish totally agree chum would be a mega record

  • @dopebozoish No no no no no no no no... worst idea ever.

  • "The wind it just whips her and wails and fills up her brigantine sails...". Noel couldn't have written anything as wonderful as that. "Cat on the matt....flying high, eating chips n pie...tell me why.." was his poetic limits. Oasis was music for plebs who knew nothing about music.

  • ah, memories.. oh this sounds so good ..

  • Love this one. Great song...Stone Roses 4ever!

  • the "Stone Roses" arrived on the the Manchester music scene in the late 80's. they fused 60's style guitar pop with the dance grooves from that time. many other bands were inspired by their pop style, thus bringing back the guitar based Rock Band to eager listener's who had grown weary of acid house.

  • children..just enjoy...while you argue amongst yourselves this is tremendous music....end of.....and reni shouldve been the lead singer.....in fact ..he was....class

  • timeless

  • stone roses and oasis r both great now shut the f@@k up!!!

  • y dont u exchange fone numbers

  • You can only write a ending to this song like this if you are on drugs....

  • there's just something about the solo that touches me in a non-hallmark way. it sounds like something thats trying to reach the stars

  • Love this song

  • the smiths and the stone roses are amazing. oasis is the most terrible, unoriginal, plagiarizing fucking band of all time

  • @bassplayer1617

    Mate, I disagree.

I absolutely love the Smiths, The Roses, New Order, the Mondays, the Carpets, the Farm and up to Pulp, the Manics etc.

Oasis are superb, of their generation theyare superb, Noel is a legend, a cross between Johnny Marr and Morrissey.

There is plenty of musicial dross to listen to, Oasis are not that but are nearly there with the gods, Smiths and Roses.

  • @MrPge1970 They are not "superb". the smiths and roses wereextremely musically innovative and talented. oasis was two arrogant siblings who shamelessly cribbed riffs and lyrics, made songs out of 'em and declared themselves to be geniuses. Noel is nowhere near as brilliant as Morissey, because the latter's lyrics were extremely emotionally complex and brilliant and nowhere near johnny marr's guitar style. Noel played three chords and sang grade school rhymes that made no sense
