  • Wish I could have seen this entire film.

Oscar, we miss you so much.

    Rest in peace.

This film (The Cobweb) has been released in 2011, along with another one or two Vincent Minelli (sp?) films. They're all great. Pick up Humouresque for the best most awesome Oscar ever, though. his lines in that are unsurpassed. And..Oscar has much better lines in this cobweb movie than this scene.

  • @sclogse1 Many thanks for your reply. I have purchased "Humouresque" and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the information about "The Cobweb".

  • Too bad there are no videos of Oscar on the Jack Paar show.

  • @constancecv

Somewhere on youtube there is. Great one too. He made a crack and the audience kind of moaned a bit.. Jack says something like "Oh come on". Without missing a beat, Oscar puts a hand on his sleeve and says: "Don't berate your audience.. you have one of the most intelligent and responsive audiences since Hitler in the good ol days..". The comment brought the house down with laughter. Great stuff.

  • You were one in a million, Oscar, and you are missed...

  • Oscar Levant was truly unique. He wasn't an actor. All of his roles were the same. He played himself. He wasn't the greatest pianist, but he was my favorite.
