  • Great. Simply great!

  • Very nice. Good playing and vocals

  • lol that was great, but you need to change strings. Kinda deadsounding:(

  • full of fun with endless variation thrown in. is this song english , irish , scottish or american? Any way, so far the english are in the lead (and I love good american flatpickers). Yes, its a sad fact; if you drink before breafast you are unlikely to sound like this fine chap.

  • Nice rendition.

  • That was sweet!!!!

  • incredible music about a sad subject.

  • 11 people should drink whiskey before breakfast!

  • one of the best versions on youtube. excellent job!

  • brillant top performance, love it, cheers Dave

  • Again I return to hear this song. It's outstanding. I did eventually learn it on banjo and although it's nowhere near as fast as what you play, you were the inspiration.

    Thank you!

  • Strong Irish flavor to it. But that is not strange with Americana.

  • Good job. That 3rd break is killer.

  • hell yeah!

  • Very well done.. most of the "pro's" don't play it this well.. you've got a double lick style very much like Norman Blake.. if nobody's mentioned that before, listen to Norman playing a similar song.. your "sanging" is good too.. heck, when can you book you? Pick on Brother

  • fantastic!

  • hey, could someone tell me what tuning he's playing this in?

    Thanks

  • Looks like Drop D to me.

  • He's playing in standard tuning, but he has the low E dropped to a D.

  • Very common in bluegrass.

  • Really nice! This is close to the version I TRY to do. Love it man.

  • This version is the best I"ve ever heard as well.

I've been singing this song in my head for days since I heard you play and sing. I'm going to learn it on the Banjo. One of these days I'll post my lousy version. Hopefully someone else will sing for me since I can't sing and play at the same time!!!!

  • Brilliant!

Best version i've heard in ages.

I love the bass run stuff.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

  • Just outstanding! 5 First time I heard it played in D tuning. There is another version called Three Young Ladies Drinkin' Whiskey Before Breakfast. That may be the old Irish version.

  • Great, and I love your guitar!

    I have never words!

    Keep a'postin'

  • ...uh, that's I've never HEARD the words before. Got carried away!

  • Very nicely done. You have a great talent.

Are you playing that in D?

I capo two and use a C form.

  • Thanks for getting us a bit inspired. We threw this together this morning.

  • Nice guitar playing but I got to say, the words really make the song. Glad to hear someone singing it. Thanks.

  • Congrats!

    Very nice.What about your guitar?

  • Excellent

  • I really enjoyed your version of this tune. Great rhythm!
