I couldn't give a shit that she died because of drugs, yeah it's tragic but what's more tragic is how early it was. If you say that it's stupid to be upset then you may as well be a nazi! She had such a soulful voice that made me cry when I was only 14, I believe this song and that's more than I could say for Beyonce or Alicia Keys.

A fine rendition. I used to think that she was just copying the styles of the singers she admired and simply doing it very well. Then again, the best singers make very good mimicks(Eno said that). I remember this when originally broadcast and thinking "Thank God she held it together for this show". She simply did not have the professional metal to maintain a huge career when she sold 9 million copies. Beyonce or Alicia Keys, for example, could. Not Amy. Artistry does not come into it.

Okay, but as I said before, the point is ARTISTRY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!! You can be the most creative artist around and still be the least professional. Compared to Amy, Beyonce and Alicia seemed to have such a laser focus on their careers that no amount of drug/alcohol or ANY other demon etxra-curricular activity would stand in their way.

One is the artistic, sensitive side and the other that does not allow a reputation to show up drunk or unable to do what is expected of you. An episode of 'Ugly Betty' had Adele on the show as the entertainment at a fashion party. Betty says to a work associate 'this show has to be perfect, this is Adele we're dealing with, not Amy Winehouse!'

Jools Holland was right, Amy's voice was one of the greatest of all time. This performance was so magical it came from out of this world.

Amy will always have her detractors because of the addictions which blighted her life, but she was blessed with a talent so big it was difficult to bear. She felt everything so deeply that she was constantly on an edge, but it was beautiful to see the little girl in Amy after this monumental performance.

God Bless You Amy. May He keep you safe in His arms.
