& other similar shit like the stuff I mentioned as the only stuff they watch, you can see how they could get pretty stupid!!
Back in the early days of reality TV, when there was two maybe 3 reality shows on TV, I read an article that said reality TV was the future of TV programming. I thought, they can't be serious, reality TV isn't worth watching the two minutes of commercials one avoids watching by changing channels. I still think it is garbage, but there are 100 million others that outweigh my vote.

I began to wake up when, for the first time in my life, I had no ready access to television. This is the best thing going away to college has done for me, because, well, it's not like I learn anything in class. The internet serves as an ALTERNATIVE information source, not so easily monopolized by the corporate scum-fucks. There's a lot of misinformation, but if you have been in the net for a while, you can pick out the crap more readily. To sum it up, books > internet > television. Peace!

I used to watch TV like it was my job when i was younger. I turned it off, used the internet to learn things, study things, feed my brain. Ever since then, i feel like i've become more awakened, and i can honestly see the difference in people who watch tv religiously and the people that don't. They literally walk around like brainless creatures, its creepy.
I play a video game or watch a movie occasionally, but I have boycotted the TV PROGRAMMING for some time, and I encourage everyone to do the same. The stories in the U.S. about digital are a lie. They didn't change the band, as was their excuse: they can cycle the signal better in digital (when the damn thing comes in) to control you better with subliminal messages.

The problem isn't t.v. It's what's on t.v. and that it's mostly a tool to control people in order to sell them things. If t.v. had more educational programming for intellectual stimulation, then it would be so much better. But it is designed to give you a quick fix of something emotionally stimulating. Most people would rather watch a hot chick with big tits than some kind of educational program. It can be quite addicting.

The news is the worst thing to watch on TV because they tell you everything is terrible and they make your life worse. I listen to positive, uplifting materials about how to be successful and make your dreams come true. I quit watching the news because the success gurus told me to, and it has helped improve my life a lot. I used to watch TV like it was my job when i was younger. I turned it off, used the internet to learn things, study things, feed my brain. Ever since then, i feel like i've become more awakened, and i can honestly see the difference in people who watch tv religiously and the people that don't. They literally walk around like brainless creatures, its creepy.

I play a video game or watch a movie occasionally, but I have boycotted the TV PROGRAMMING for some time, and I encourage everyone to do the same. The stories in the U.S. about digital are a lie. They didn't change the band, as was their excuse: they can cycle the signal better in digital (when the damn thing comes in) to control you better with subliminal messages.

I seem to have more free time and I'm much happier too. I guess TV is ok for occasional entertainment or whatever. But, we shouldn't spend more time with it, than we do with people and ourselves.

The problem isn't t.v. It's what's on t.v. and that it's mostly a tool to control people in order to sell them things. If t.v. had more educational programming for intellectual stimulation, then it would be so much better. But it is designed to give you a quick fix of something emotionally stimulating. Most people would rather watch a hot chick with big tits than some kind of educational program. It can be quite addicting.

The news is the worst thing to watch on TV because they tell you everything is terrible and they make your life worse. I listen to positive, uplifting materials about how to be successful and make your dreams come true. I quit watching the news because the success gurus told me to, and it has helped improve my life a lot. Now I just spend my time raising my income instead of worrying about the economy and all that bullshit that they talk about on the news.

I haven't watched tv for about a year and a half now and couldn't feel any more refreshed or better. I only use my tv to play video games. I can do without the bullshit news networks, crackpot reality tv, and media anyway. And I save money instead of paying high cable bills. All you see on tv nowadays is REALITY tv anyway. Watching other people live their lives while you WASTE YOUR OWN.

Your awareness of it's brainwashing abilities is pretty much irrelevant. It works off of basic physical principals that are common to all life forms (operant conditioning). Alexander Bain, from Scotland, work on how to teach philosophy, psychology, rhetoric, logic and language. His work did help to reform the education system in Scotland in the 19 century. He point out in his book from 1866, the Manual of rhetoric, some of the relation between psychology and rhetoric.

That's it. I'm done today. I've been thinking about doing it for some time, but kept making excuses. It's going to be harder to convince my husband and kids, but I'm definitely done today. I did cancel my satellite subscription days ago though. I'm glad I did. My head has never been clearer. My kids are actually calming down a little more everyday. They were straight adhd when they watched television. Today was the first day they didn't ask about watching tv. So, this isn't going to be so hard.
