  • Please Please Please, Do you have the ending of the episode titled "Heroes" where Chris flings Tooly's casket to the song " Whiter Shade Of Pale"? Its my FAVORITE NX scene.

  • David Chase is G-d.

  • I only had to learn English properly, acquire the whole series and enjoy... when I was a youngster I loved it, but they never finished the series on TV.... and neither did I, because really think they ruined the show by the end. but until it's good, it's one of the bests and I still love it. and this one is one of my favourite episodes and endings. thank you for it!

  • Probably my favourite ever episode - but then again, so many very very good shows. Holling singing. Some of Marilyn's trips , Maggie and Joel being in tune once or twice - flying pianos.....How I miss this show even now.

  • Not sure how they'd dig through the rock but ya gotta love Ed anyway.

  • The best TV show ever! She did pass away..wouldn't it of been great if she could of been buried there. Love Ed..I read that he has like five or six kids in real life!

  • rip ruth ann. we love you!

  • Everytime I watched this show it seemed like it gave me advice on how to deal with a particular situation which had everything to do with what I was going through at that point and time. It was pretty interesting how it always seemed to work out like that. Such a great show. Why can't we have more quality programming like this today? Truly one of a kind.

  • My absolute favorite program, then The X-Files and recently, Law and Order SVUI don't think there was ever a better-written tv program in my opinion.LOL.A big fan.I have two seasons on dvd, would like to get all of them eventually.

  • This was one of my fave episodes too. I read ages ago that Peg Phillips was actually an accountant and got into acting quite late in life. She was perfect as Ruth Anne MIller.RIP Peg..

  • @OhSusannah63 - I loved this show, even though it sometimes seemed NUTS. I liked this episode, this scene, & often thought that if Ruth had been younger, or Ed had been older, they would've been boyfriend & girlfriend.

  • This is my very favorite episode. It's a brilliant one!

  • RIP ruth anne...

  • Oh my god I love ed! I always thought he was so cute! all the characters are just so unique, gotta love this show, and the song at the end is perfect!

  • opportunity of lifetime ~YES!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada, in the east- this music sounds wonderfully Gaelic or Celtic to me!I still watch NX 5-6 times a week on APTN station! My fave show of all time, hands down...If anyone has clip of the ep where Maggie finds a basket(ancient native artifact) in her yard and then the men take over her domain-please post. The scene i'm looking for is the lovely ending with the most haunting music- a woman singing in Italian I think. I'm no opera buff- this is sublime.Tx

  • I think this was my single favorite episode ending!

  • @TheKnightRyder That's a hard choice to make though!

  • i love this

  • This is a beautiful scene, one of my favorites.

  • This is wonderful. One of my favorite moments from a great series.

  • Thanks for adding all these classic NX endings vainds. All of them are included in my top ten. Nice work.

  • It is scenes like this that makes Northern Exposure one of the finest programs to be on television. Too bad it didn't last longer.

  • I loved its sensitivity... A Life changing series...

  • This is fantastic.

  • NX, you're one of TV history's timeless gems.

  • My favorite Northern Exposure episode ever. What a well written show.

  • For me, this is THE best of all of the whole show.

  • whaT IS THE NAME THIS SONG I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SO LONG CAN ANYONE HELP

  • The music is by David Schwartz and written just for Northern Exposure. Many of us are looking for a recorded version and so far have not found one.

  • @viands A great view of Brokeback Mountain. What you do to the least of these you do to me, gay bashers.

  • @etbella3 That's Jay Edgar Hoover talkin', bullies of homosexuals.

  • @louisdel23 Opportunity. Oppenheimer. Only the meek (the poor) will inherit the earth. Greed is good. You think, Washington DC? toonity. Loony Toons. That's all folks!

  • I can not get it anywhere :-(

  • I know. Software can make music files from the video, though. Best to rent the DVDs for better quality.

  • What is this wonderful music?

    What is the contractor?

  • This music is also on the DVDs, they didn't pull it. I'd be interested to see some scenes that have music that is not o the DVDs.

  • This is one of the greatest pieces of history in tv land. All of Northern Exposure, but this is one of my favourite endings. And another is the first of the two with the fling.

A big THANK YOU from one of the founders of the Italian fan club.

  • Dancing on your own grave... brilliant.

  • Does anyone know how I can find just the David Schwartz music...aside from the main theme? There is someting so wonderfully starteling about his melodies.

  • thank you very much for those videos !

  • does somebody know this song at the end?

  • The definitive NX FAQ says, "No one knows what the music at the end of "A-Hunting We Will Go", where Ruth-Anne and Ed dance on the grave that Ed gave her for her 75th birthday. Speculation in the group is that it's another David Schwartz medley. It is not on either NX CD." I'll do some poking around and see if there's any info. since this was published.

  • It's David Schwartz. I just listened to it again and its definitely his work. Notice the hawk's cry midway through it. I'll look for it and send you a message as well as post it here if I find it.

  • Wonderful memories! Thank you!

  • when my class was watching this in class we started to laugh when he said it's her grave. thats sad though.

  • class?

  • :)

it just made me smile. : )

  • watching this show coincided with my first taste of independence. it was college, in a new city, & 'NX' was, at 19-yrs. old, like having my own personal guru.

  • Yes!
