I guess that people could respect Justin for what he has achieved but a movie at his age? That's absolutely ridiculous. His movie sounds more like an advertisement and a money-grabbing strategy by people who want to take advantage of his fame.
The problem is, he isn't a normal person anymore. He's a celebrity and unless people get rid of the stupid hype around him, no one else can treat him like a normal person.
Also, this movie couldn't get over a 2 out of 10 on most review sites...
I was a fan of his Youtube videos when they were first uploaded, but I don't like the songs he sings now. His singing now is but a shadow of the boy I heard a few years ago, his showcases of multi-instrumental talent are the same now as when he was 12, as if he hasn't improved over 4 years. I resent that there are teenage singers out there that would sing him off the park that weren't given anywhere near the same amount of exposure (like Jojo, Gia Farrell, and many a 15 yr old Idol audition!)

I Feel the same way, I have 2 daughters and 11 and 6, and too them to see the movie and just like you a week later went back to see the directors cut. I got a totally different perspective on him after the first movie as well. And well now I have have been know to rock out in my car to some Justin Bieber with my girls. I happen to like his music and enjoy listening to him.
I did the exact for my 2 girls the movie was so compelling & inspirational. Justin gave me that umph I've needed w/ learning to play my acoustic guitar. Justin is not only a young pop sensation but a very humble young man w/ all the right ppl behind him. I pray he continues this path of being a positive role model to our children in "never saying never" and to follow their dreams. I recommend all see this movie, agreed the uncut version was better. @virusAlex20 - ha - no, I'm only 36 so I have grown up completely in the world of music for profit at all costs era - digital production, autotune, and "club bangers" have mostly killed off the artists with pure raw talent in favor of the artists with the "right look" and "at least enough talent" that are willing to do what the machine tells them to do - the sad part is that it has happened to all genres from rock to rap to country and everything in between - I always prefer indie artists myself

Think back to boy bands that were popular when we were kids like New Edition & New Kids On The Block. Even today, that is still music that lasts because back thwn it was all about selling the MUSIC. Besides IMDB there are other movie rating sites such as yahoo-movies where they have actual critics rate the movies and the movie got a surprising B- which is indeed watchable. Like richwalkup said, haters gonna hate.

Justin Bieber is the story of a boy rising from obscurity all because of a YouTube video. His story is just what other hopeful YouTubers, like myself, want to happen. Personally, I like Bieber and I think he's got talent. In fact, I'd like to see him in a different genre where his voice would shine. i dont hate justin, i dont even know the kid, but it saddens me to see how people say he has talent, or any popstar for that matter, I dont even know why people say he can play instruments, ive watched his guitar, drumming, and all i can say is holding a guitar takes a nice picture, but playing one takes talent and soul. just look up joe bonnamassa , and then you will see the difference.

Besides IMDB there are other movie rating sites such as yahoo-movies where they have actual critics rate the movies and the movie got a surprising B- which is indeed watchable. Like richwalkup said, haters gonna hate.
Also I hate Bieber and I didn't even see the movie. I just might now.

I live in Vancouver, population of about 1-1.5 million people. Toronto has around 1-1.75 million. Those are the two biggest cities in Canada. We DO not have the most populated cities. Tokyo has 30 million, which is the population of all of Canada.

And Toyko doesn't have a population of 30 million, its population is 13 million. The other 17 million that you're talking about live in the metro area, so not technically in the city. That's like saying Toronto has a population of 5 million because you counted the GTA(Greater Toronto Area) otherwise known as the metro area.

Justin Bieber is the story of a boy rising from obscurity all because of a YouTube video. His story is just what other hopeful YouTubers, like myself, want to happen. Personally, I like Bieber and I think he's got talent. In fact, I'd like to see him in a different genre where his voice would shine. I really think the reason he gets crap are the extremists in his fanbase. Let me put this up for you: Is an artist defined by their fans? Does music and drive not apply to anything?

I'm not gonna hate on your video, but the "never say never" stuff and not to give up was ALREADY TOLD over and over again in movies, biographies and songs.

@carouselcorner You really can't compare Justin Bieber and Rush though. Seriously, Rush came out in a time when there was no internet or Youtube and you had to work ALOT harder to get discovered. Now a days you can make a simple video online and thousands can see it over night. I'm no fan of Bieber, but the advantage of the internet helped him a lot and if Rush was a new band that just came out now don't you think they would have used Youtube too?

I'm not from Stratford. But I do know about it. It's a very important city in England because that's where Shakespeare was born. The Canadian city was named after that one and it has a huge Shakespeare festival running year-long. It's a VERY important city for theater.

He might have made it but his music still sucks. I went beyond the baby video to see what other songs he has and they all SUCK. And I'm not just saying that to be a hater, lyrically, the songs must have taken 10 minutes to come up with. In a few years all the little girls that listen to him are going to look back on the lyrics and say wtf was I listening to? Sure he has a good voice and all but thats not everything.

I believe this review hits the nail on the head. It's not just his music..and the movie isnt being used to just portray an "image" to make him look nice. It's his real story. If you have followed everything from day one you would know. So don't make judgements on things you have NO knowledge of what so ever, That makes an ugly character and I believe everyone deserves a chance who has a dream in the music industry and most people dont even give the poor boy the time of day. So check yourselves.

The reason I dislike Justin bieber is because he didn't have to work hard like so many other artist do to get famous, he was just discovered and automatically becomes famous. That isn't really fair for every other music artist who worked hard to get where they are.

He was like 13 when he got discovered...how much harder should the kid have worked, really? He posted videos on youtube, he participated in local singing competitions, he even sang outside of a theatre with a guitar.
Just because he didn't grow up in the ghetto, get beat by his dad, or participate in gang violence, doesn't mean he didn't work hard. Michael Jackson was young too... Justin Bieber is extremely talented whether you like him or not...you can't deny that
