ABOUT A YEAR AGO I HAD MY FRIST PUPPY SHE WAS A BRITTANY AND I GUS SHE WAS NOT HAPPY SHE RAN IN A BUSY STREET AND GOT RAN OVER I WAS SOOOOOOOOOO SAD STILL AM :;;;(( SHE WAS BROWN AND WHITE THIS YEAR MY DAD FOUND A STRAY BRITTANY ALL BLACK AND SHE REMINDS ME OF MY FRIST ONE ANY WAY NOW I NO IF U HAVE A BRITTANY PLZ RUN THEM AND PLAY WITH THEM UNTILL THEY ARE SLEEPY OR THEY END UP RUNNING AWAY FROM U AND THER SO FAST ITS AMAZIN PLZ KEEP THEM HAPPY!! :)
My 10 year old Molly lost her leg at just over a year old and didn't phase her a bit. She is extremely clingy, craves attention but still just as happy as she was when we got her. I love this breed!
OMG I laughed through this whole video. He is so much like my Brittany. Go see my video titled Oliver. He sits like a frog like Zak does and runs away when he has a toy like that too. He is almost 7 and just started calming down in the last couple of years so good luck, lol.
I totally agree!! Ours does all the same things!!! But, what is that you're saying about your Brittany is just calming down at 7?! Ours is just 1! :-)
Its rare apparently, well im told it is anyway^^ We saw him and his cute little freckles and were like, yes please. Even his brothers and sisters diddnt have them.
At 1:07, my dog lays like that all the time!!! She also sits indian style, you know, with you legs crossed. (Although they arent actually crossing, cause its immpossible for a dog to do that, they just point inwards, and she doesnt use her paws to hold herelf up, she actually sits on her ass! hahaha
My Brit chases reflections obsessively. If he sees a reflection on the ground, he'll spend HOURS trying to "grab it". We took him to the Dog Beach and he saw a reflection. He spent the rest of the day trying to dig a hole in the sand, while all of the other dogs played in the water. Go figure!
You cannot help but smile watching this video. Zak is adorable! I have a Brittany named Bootie Brown. He was Molly Brown until they took him to crop his tail and discovered she was a he. He is very high energy and also lays with his legs straight out behind him or flat on his back with his legs in the air. He is a character and loves to get on the back of the couch, thus we call him the Redneck Dog. Do your Brittany's sing too?
I have a Brittany Spaniel. Her name is Champ AKA Champian, Tails, Butterscotch, Puppy, Puppyian, Tails Wails, Dog, Doggy, and Little One.
She is the smartest thing ever. Once we were out in the woods, and she ran off. We spent 5 hours looking for her, and we were going back to the car to get flashlights and get food and stuff, then come back. And when we arrived, Champ was there. She ran off, then sniffed her way back to the jeep... I was soooo happy. Best Dog Ever (with Golden Retriver) YAY!
Brits are the best. My Sarah is so smart, but have you noticed that your Brit is pack oriented and doesn't like stranger? She growls and snaps if they try to pet her. I warn people she is afraid of them and can snap but, some insist on a pet
One lady didn't listen and Sarah snapped. She got all funny and told me I need to keep a muzzle on her. I told that lady Sarah could snap. Not making excuses, working hard to change that behavior. But then she snuggles up to me & I remember why i love her
Hmm, i think any pack animal has the potential to be like that, ive found that zak is too friendly. So much so that one girl thought he was atacking her when he clearly wasn't. zak has only ever taken a dislike to 2 people, one was known to hate us, and the other was a really shifty looking guy walking down the street. he can be a really good judge of character.
I almost got rid of my Brittany when she was two months old. I cried everyday. She was just too much too handle. But know she just about a year in a half. I can't even believe I even thought about getting rid of her! She is the best dog ever! She is good most of the time. She is very, very smart! The smartest dog that I have ever owned! And she has a beauty to her that astonishes me! My only wish is that she would walk better on the leash!
We had the same problem, zak would always pull and it was worse when other dogs were around, but we use a halti now. Its like a strap that goes round the muzzle but without hindering mouth movement. Im told when you control the head the rest will fall into place. he walks fine now.
well... ^^ he puts up a valiant attempt every day to avoid it but once its on him hes fine, hed rather not have it on but its not distressing or anything
I agree... I thought I would have to get rid of my Brittany Spaniel too but she is the greatest dog ever. I wish she would walk better on a leash as well...
I have had her since October of 2007...
Do you think she will ever be able to go outside without a leash
I had my doggie since October 07' too! I would never feel comfortable having her off the leash. If she sees a bird or gets a good scent...off she go's ! I do however take her for walks in the woods on a trail with a long lead. She does pretty well. She gets so far and then looks back to be sure I am following her! And I have to say I am in love w/my dog! now I know how people can share ice cream cones and such ! I use to think they were crazy ! Brittany's Rule !
CWATZ Everyday I fall more and more in love with her everyday. It is almost sick in a way. I now know why people are so nuts about their dogs! I have recently purchased a ecollar. It is great! I took her for a walk in the woods. As soon as she ran away, I gave her a comand and a click and she quickly came to my side. The rest of the walk she stayed closer to me than ever! It is almost a mircle. She is so thick headed at times! She always wants to do her own thing.
good, you realize it now... sry, i dont care too much about anything, but dogs is like 1/6 things i do....... well i care about more than that but...... ya..... i hope you have future dog luck
Thanks .... so is your's... infact yours looks just like one of our last ones, it brought a lump to our throat when we watched the basket video... weve had britts for over 20 years now... they are a blessing....
Great to get your lovely reply. Merlin had been a bit too challenging at times, but now he is just over two years old, he is calmer, obedient and very, very cuddly. I would not change him for the world now.
We adopted a one year old Brittany named Rusty and we love him dearly. He is high maintenance and "bonkers" also. He is now two and is still running hard, getting into everything and then some. Our Brittany will make us so mad we can't even speak sometimes. Although he tends to be all over the place, he is the most heartwarming dog we have ever owned.
Oh yeas, I totally understand what you saying here. We were so close to going completely mad, we tried all sorts of training plans with zero success, even a professional trainer struggled. But now, he is just over two years old and is a joy to own. The trick is "keep your sense of humour!"
Really good looking dog, you are very lucky
