This is a grand piece of rock history, you will never see a rock singer invite the public up to dance and sing again...........beautiful Janis....you are what it was all about.
@MrsBigeWoods Some people dont. Ive seen some really horrible comments on YT. But yea- almost everybody loves her. She had that shine. That special personality. It wasnt just her voice & charisma and blues-mama image. It was real. She was HERself. Insecure and lonely but always Janis. I could watch and listen to her all day and never get tired of it. Peace to you dear and,,,dont go lookin for those bad comments. It will tick you off & bum out yr day. :)
Janis... what an awesome human being... died to young. This is such an awesome video, showing how much love she really had for her fans and/or fellow human beings... and this has always been one of my favorite joplin songs
Wahnsinns Frau! Stimme! Never forget. Love, Peace, Sex, alc ähhm rock. Schad, in der Zeit hätt i gern gelebt. Freiheit ist ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl, i love it. ;-D
Wahnsinns Frau! Stimme! Never forget. Love, Peace, Sex, alc ähhm rock. Schad, in der Zeit hätt i gern gelebt. Freiheit ist ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl, i love it. ;-D
I don't understand why the shy girl goes up there at all if she wasn't going to dance and rock out? Even later on when EVERYONE around her's having a good time? Why didn't she just stay in the crowd/on the floor when Janis invited her up? Instead of being shy the whole time - poor Janis really tried to get her to join in but the shy woman wasn't having any of it. I'd of just been clinging to Janis ahaa!!
Gracias por subir esta maravillosa pieza de la mejor época en mi opinión, espero y muchas generaciones mas puedan seguir conociendo a las leyendas Bob Dylan, Janis, Beatles, entre los demás mejores de la música clásica.
it's paradoxical that the author have uploaded that video of the pacifist Janis Joplin and at the same time is uploading violent and offensive anti-chavist or anti-castrist videos, it's a shame..
i love hip hop but i can listen to ths n bob dylan, beattles, n hendrix all day....my generation cant make music like ths...im kinda wish i grew up in the 60's n 70's :)
ποσο μλκες ειναι οι γερμανοι που χορευουν μαζι της....σημερα θα τρωνε λουκανικουμπες και θα βριζουν την ελλαδα...αιωνια δοξα στην τζανις και το πνευμα της ελευθεριας
Tears well up for many possible reasons: 1.) We recognize true talent...and a gift from God at work; 2.) we miss her and her kind; 3.) we miss that time in our lives...those of us old enough; 4.) we missed out on doing things we wished we'd done during this age; 5.) we were so damn happy going wild during that time in our life; and/or 6.) we're so damn happy we actually lived through it all...many of our friends didn't make it.
The tears well up for a lot of us when we watch her. It's because we see and hear a woman who absolutely deserves her reputation.
Janis came from the days when you relied upon raw talent and a lot of heart to make music... not video monitors and AutoTune. That's why the music from her day is excellent... and conversely, why most of the music from today sucks. Sorry to dump that on everyone, but we gotta face the facts.
how has some much time passed? janis kept me from death in the '90s, living in a Toyota MR2 on Cape Cod in November with vodka as the only carb, well, she is still relevant today.
I havn't seen this performance before, but wow, this is just amazing. She doesn't need any of the flashing lights, or add ons that current "musicians" need to make themselves look good. All she needs is her voice. Really shows how much better she is than any current singer.
there will never be a time in history like this again. I am so fortunate to have experienced it I saw them all live Janis Jimi the Doors Orig. Stones and more woodstock
As anyone can plainly see, Janis was performing sexual foreplay in singing this song, and all the other songs she performed. She, in other words, was getting turned on. She admitted as much, in interviews, and said she liked to "do it" in the back of the band's van, while driving away from a concert.
@BlogBitch Besides not being a great speller, you can't read worth a damn, either. I specifically stated that I had read interviews with her, WHEN SHE WAS STILL ALIVE, thank you very much, where she said that she would get so turned on singing, that sometimes she would "do the nasty" in the back of the equipment van, before she got back to her hotel.
Reminds me of something I recently saw of Beth Dito, she just went for a walk through the crowd during one of her gigs ... As usual she only wore panty's and a Bra .. They have some things in common I guess. One of them is provoking ...
wow my kids love this stuff teh door and all beatles and all teh great music form all times why didnt u teach your kids to find good music instead of waiting to be told what to buy very proud of my 4 kids and the fact they can think out side teh box
This is shit to kids my age. they have nooooooooooooo clue what feeling is in a song or meaning. I wonder if im the only 15 yr. old who thinks this way.
@CKSeeps7 I know exactly how you feel, though I'm 16. Kids my age like songs because they're popular at the moment and new. A lot of them don't want to listen to anything from more than 2 months ago. (I don't understand people my age). I like songs because they've got meaning or I like the way they sound. The age of the song or how long the artist has been dead for just doesn't occur to me.
The guy in the white shirt and tie has some mean dance moves and the guy in the white tee shirt looks very much like Freddie Mercury. Great song and everyone was partying on shame this talented lady died at 27 yrs. old.
I've said a few things about Janis over the years; some of them not so complementary. I take them all back. Look at this video!!! This is what the 60's were truly all about, not some parody like Forrest Gump! Inviting her fans onstage to dance with her, you can be those kids [now in their 50's and 60's] still tell their kids about this night!! What a talent, what a damn shame we lost her at such a young age. Find me ANYONE these days with this much soul and love for the music and her fans.
She gave women so much more than the feminist babble. She never really got into that cuz she was lonely and in need of someone. A real feminist doesnt need someone so badly. BUT,,,,,Janis taught us as women that we ARE beautiful regardless and we CAN do somethin with our lives- whatever it may be. And we can ,,,as she said a few times,,,,get off your ass and MOVE! FEEL. No one has come close to her in terms of influence on the genre, and thats ok because there can really be only ONE Janice Joplin!
