Anything new from Alan on the horizon? I have various albums including Based On A True Story (2002) and it is excellent! It's a shame we don't see Alan more often on tv as he is truly a great singer and musician. I have seen him twice in concert in the past few years, hope to see him again in October :)
I hope he comes to NYC...would love to see him sing and play.....Also it would be nice to see Eric and Alan play together again ...at least a couple of shows and one of course in New York City. Bobbie.
ap got some good fans in the states after o lucky man, but he had fans after he made the album with randy newman songs and hi lilly hi lo and all that. he sold out the great american music hall in 74 or 75 and did a great show. i don't like crowds but might probably go see him if he came back here.
@RayManzarekGod --Alan is great at the organ --listen to the version he did if this song on organ --in 1966 or so--he played a Hammond X-66--Listen to the BBC files--listen to him on the Vox Continental--He's the reason I took up playing--I was 8 yrs. old --I heard "The House of The Rising Sun" in 1964 --that was it--!!
@crazypainter56 House Of The Rising Sun started it all for me! I heard that song, looked it up on Youtube, and then discovered REAL music! I LOVE ALAN! I prefer his work on the Vox, just because I have a 'fetish' for them almost you could say, lol. He's also the reason I took up playing too!
1964 big the animals hous of rising hous beste of live. alan price set.Put A Spell On You 1967 big nederland big fan you oke ook eric burdon the war and band good bey aut amsterdam tj
Where's the Hammond X-66 you used back in the 60's to play when you first recorded this song--??---Needs your organ playing--!!----A great talent---Charlie-
I like alan price too, I once went to Farnworth to see him in a nightclub, in lancashire. hardley anyone in there but me and my dad, alan kept smiling at me because I was in the front row!
I have always liked Alan Price, I dont know how old this video is but this man still looks amazingly young his voice is as always is brilliant and also unchanged, wish I knew his secret, he is so nice
@GaryNull Hey, it is true, if you look, every Animals show in America had a different organist, but all the other members. I am friends with a personal friend of Eric Burdon and Alan Price, and he said thats why.
Oh how I would love to go back. I stayed in Basingstoke that year and if I had the cash I would see them at the Anvil. Having a wife and son and some bills now prevents me from seeing them this fall. Alan and Paul Jones were class acts.
Its the first time I have seen this video, goodonyer Samsnan3, I remember the day I Put A Spell On You was released in Aussie, I bolted to the local record shop and bought it.
Awesome performance, and I agree... what a voice! It just keeps getting better and better. (For more proof, pick up a copy of Alan's "Based On A True Story" CD.) Thank you for posting this video!

Man! Alan is good! I just wish this was done with his organ. I hate that keyboard sound.

@diestroduende I was just thinking that, he should have used a B3 or Vox or a normal piano.

Eric Burdon has much much better vocals than Alan Price. Alan is good at singing, but he won't ever get as good as Eric.. If you ask me....

What happen to the Electric Blues Band or whatever it was called? That was a great album.
Does Alan ever come to the U.S. to tour?
GaryNull 3 years ago
He's not on tour since years. That's all I know. But Eric Burdon is on tour next...
JulianThomePictures 3 years ago
Actually, He is on tour.
Manfred Mann have gone across the country with him.
I saw him in concert in Southport NR. Liverpool.
It was a fantastic night... everybody was on their feet, even though they were all O.A.P's!

Shame you can't get back efrem - but keep in touch through the forum as I am sure there will be a review about Alan/Manfreds

This clip is from Dr Rock Show,TyneTees TV 1998. And Darbyjack - Alan has ALWAYS been a better singer than Eric Burdon!
Samsnan3 3 years ago
As an American, I had the pleasure to come across the pond in 2000 to see Alan Price with the Manfreds in High Wycombe. What a treat that was.

Alan is now a better singer than Eric Burdon :o
