Brother Wayne is my buddy--at 52 i will play all the MICHIGAN rock i can--like it or hate it i play this stuff every weekend--Brownsville-the Frost-Grand Funk-Seger-Nugent-and many others! Mc-5 is the baddest band that EVER came out of MICHIGAN! TCB
There are some much better Rockabilly converted into Hard Rock renditions of old Rock n' Roll tunes from Purp, Zep, Nugent, even Judas Priest and the Beatles did a good job with covering old Rock too, but Slade almost specialized in this kind of stuff. They did a bunch of them. MC-5 was better with their proto-Punk and Hard Blues stuff.
KOTJMF'S!!! if you haven't done so...please see MC5: A True Testimonial Some great footage here, too bad there couldn't have been more of this type stuff available for that film..
Wow, i am from Mich, and i will learn the words and play this song, been playin since 1968, going thru a mid life crisis, GOD love rob tyner and brother wayne, dennis thompson, and fred "sonic"smith, i will always play the rock ya did, and i play Brownsville station ta boot!!TCB
I did the Garden city Moose club back in october, and i said"Brothers and sisters ya got ta choose, weather ya wanna rock or snooze, and hit it with ramblin rose, rob tyner was with me on that sunday, JAWS DROPPED!! Hoo-wee!! My les paul and my orange ad-15 took it away, lots of fun!! Michigan Rocks!
This is a prime example of outstanding underground music! RAAAW! Keep the true underground roots alive! Just say "NO" to Hollywood! Decentralize corporate rock NOW!
I so sincerly wish that this whole show AND, last not least, A TRUE TESTIMONIAL-complete with all those nifty live bonuses etc that was supposed to be one mother of a DVD, will get an official release - NOW!!!!
This sounds just like the version I downloaded. Just the sound quality is worse here. I guess the version you can download from iTunes or Limewire is this one.
Rob kinda looks like Weird Al in this vid!

Did they ever play at Garden City Park in the summer of 67 or 68?
freezerkid1 4 years ago

One of the best guitar on Chuck Berry's style. Keith Richards should have join them guys in '72
