Seeds are useless if you don't have the stuff you need to grow and the time. You won't get food for 60-90+ days in a victory farm. And if it's real SHTF the garden would have to be guarded from midnight pickers. Better to have something you can eat like dry foods unless you have a place that's ideal.

Buy weapons, ammo, food, and gear (like sleeping bags, first aid supplies, batteries, etc.). I bought a little silver but am focusing on the things I will need for me and my family. I am also moving out of the city and into the country. Less population density=less chaos and panick when the SHTF. Also networking with others in my area that see the writing on the wall for safety in numbers. It is good to have a bug out plan also.

I'm just taking an inventory of my situation, silver/gold investment is ok (more the better ya know), emergency food stock is being built and going along well, will continue these things. Silver rounds, look like silver dollars, are still cheap. Don't know why, but silver is not moving up yet, so you can still get those for around $17.
Also, "junk silver" coins. Dimes, etc. in bags at reasonable cost.
IMHO, silver is good, because even without the internet for news, people understand that IT IS MONEY, so will accept it for food, etc.
And silver will always keep up with inflation at the very least.

Toneyboy53, I agree w/ you. If hyperinflation occurs, there will be a small window when you can take advantage of it (assuming stagflation is not the case). When the US gov't and the wealthy begin paying down debts and buying things of value - hurry - because in short order the currency will reset. This has happened numerous times in history just this way.
And yes, if you can't stockpile silver, stockpile copper. If you can't do that, stockpile ammo, food, cigs, TP, etc.

I know a lot of people say they can't afford silver...but come on. I get up at 2a.m. sometimes when I can't sleep and I cruise ebay for 90% dimes and quarters, they used to be CHEAP!. You can still get dimes for 1.30 each easy. If a person can afford a "Happy Meal" they can buy a little silver.

.308 rd. Much heavier than the .223 I have enclosed an area in my fenced yard (in a restricted neighborhood) for chickens. I have a years worth of food, gallons of scotch, vodka, and whisky. We also need to think about how we will entertain ourselves, once in a while so that we can remain sane. I suggest buying a guitar, harmonicas, maybe a fiddle...we might not have electrical power for that purpose anymore. Buy LOTS of batteries, OTC meds. Also, guys...make sure your baby has what she needs!

Buy as much silver as you can on your credit card....then sell as little as you can to make the credit card payment each month. At some point in the "near" future silver will be double what it is now. Then sell half and pay off your card. The rest....is yours. That is for those folks that can't do it otherwise. What people haven't spoken much about is the fact that the trade deficit has dropped from 75 billion to about 25 billion, and is going through a "dead-cat bounce" because of oil prices. This means that we're buying less from outside the US, which means fewer jobs leaving the US. I'm buying as much silver as I can afford. I know people who are taking out loans (if they can get them) to buy silver. Anything under $40 an ounce is just a steal. It's going to $100 or $1000 depending on inflation.
I also have a couple months worth of food saved, a few items for barter, a small amount of gold, several large jugs of water, camping supplies, and some heirloom seeds.

My personal strategy is keeping as much money available to leave my apartment without any debt.
Right now I'm investing all of my savings into hard assets. Prices right now are high, but I like that shiny stuff.
Further I'll buy some high qualtiy seeds (resistant, and no hybrid stuff) for vegetables and maybe some clothes and a big bag of rice.
But like said before, there is no time to freak out or be afraid. Fear will lead you to the wrong desicions, and help no one.

Seeds are useless if you don't have the stuff you need to grow and the time. You won't get food for 60-90+ days in a victory farm. And if it's real SHTF the garden would have to be guarded from midnight pickers. Better to have something you can eat like dry foods unless you have a place that's ideal.

Yes, as far you're right. But my parents own a few hectar of farming land and I'm just interesed in plants. I also grow some stuff on my balcony at the apartment.
This buying of seeds is nothing which is a short-term rescue plan. But with having the place to grow vegetables and the time to do so, there is nothing against it.
I also plan to do some farming next year, just because of interest.

Mostly Ive bought personal. .308 I have 20,000 rounds of decent Winchester steel core. 10,000 .45's all different types. 10,000 00 buck, and even cals I dont use like 9mm and 38 special because theyll be the best barter items. Everyone has a 9mm or 38 special. No matter what, youll be able to trade with it.

Ammo, food, various other supplies.
While I can't afford gold, I think that people will be more interested in those things I mentioned.
You can feed your family if you have ammo to kill a deer or other animal. You can also protect your family if you have ammo.
Get ammo while you can everyone, at some point you won't be able to and a gun is useless without it.

I have some food and silver, and I bought a Berkey water purification kit. These things will give you a head start over the average guy, but eventually they will run out and we will all be in the same boat.

Sounds Like a Plan since none of our Currencies are back by Gold or Silver so this could be good but also bad at the same time, but the lay off of job is Bad

I've been buying ammunition, camping supplies, bought a bugout bag and been buying silver since then. I have enuogh food for about 2 months if I ration it right. I'm on a limited budget I don't make a whole lot of money.

You will need food and supplies first for months, then barter will start furiously and silver coins will be used. Silver is still Cheap compared to Gold...its the best deal. Thank you so much Demcad!!
