  • i like this car. I'll be buying an electric car when they double or triple the range in the next few years.

  • EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN ELECTRIC CAR. COME ON PEOPLE HELP THE ENVIRONMENT. HELP YOURSELF!!!

  • I take back what I said about it being more expensive to charge your car than buying gas--it's actually considerably cheaper. But that's beside the point here. The point is that humans alone, emit 10 times more CO2 per year on average just by exhaling, than do the amount of cars on the road today (for anyone trying to prove me wrong, I actually did work out the math on that). Factor in methane secretions by cattle, and none should be worrying whether cars are electric or run off of gasoline.

  • @pianoman469 Oil company jabber. So it's our bad breath creating all that smog? What a relief. I'll go out and buy a Hummer now with a clear conscience. Everyone, you can stop trying to save the world now. lets just all stop breathing.

  • @videonaj Did I say it's breathing that causes climate change? No, I was making a point that electric cars are nothing more than a facade to persuade people like you that spending $30,000 on a boring to drive hybrid/electric makes a difference in the world. Economically, it's a waste of money/time to produce and buy electric cars like this if you realize that, either way, you're still consuming fossil fuels (indirectly with electric cars because charging them uses electricity).

  • @pianoman469 Actually, even if you use the dirtiest of electricity supply (coal) it still only 30% of the CO2 that petrol engines use. The reason is an electric motor is around 90% efficient. A petrol motor is around 10% efficient. 85% of a cars total energy footprint is during operation of the years, not in production which is only around 10% and 5% for disposal so hybrid cars over 5-10 years to make a big difference to total CO2 emissions not to mention better air quality in cities.

  • If you want real change, you should stop believing that electric and hybrid cars are the solution, because they aren't. You're not saving money by purchasing one (they are $1000s more expensive than comparable gas-powered cars and run up your electricity bill to the point where it'd probably be cheaper to just buy gas, anyway) AND they put just as much stress on the environment, if not more, as a gasoline-powered car would.

  • @pianoman469 Where did you read that? Have you looked at the smog lately in thousands of cities around the world? Thats mostly from cars polluting the air. Both hybrid and then electric cars will solve that issue. Also electric cars are new, as more are made the costs will come down to the same as petrol cars. Hybrid technology is only there until battery technology improves.

  • So you see,the benefits of putting a several million electric cars on the road are slim, if not none. Sure, it might reduce smog considerably in cities, but to be honest, it doesn't do much more than give the environmentally concious person driving it a sense of "green satisfaction" by not having to pump gas. Gasoline-powered cars are not the primary concern if you believe that greenhouse gases are the cause of climate change.

  • @pianoman469 actually electric cars is the first step. There are green energy producing devices on there way that get their power from zero point energy and electromagnetic fields. This means coal, nuclear power will not be needed making cars will be much more efficient and these devices will end up running the cars themselves. But thats around 10 years away. Electric cars is the first step towards that end. The electric car is indeed a great first step. Have you seen China and India lately?

  • But okay, let's consider the possiblity that increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere are the primary factor in recent climate change. Wrap your minds around this: there are over 6 billion people in world who each contribute something like 2 lbs of CO2 into the air each day through exhalation. And there are probably more than a billion cattle in the world who excrete methane (a greenhouse gas far more potent than CO2) by passing gas, A LOT.

  • LOL @ the guy saying that "oil will run out and gas cars are killing the planet." 1) There's estimated to be enough untapped oil reserves in the USA alone to supply the world for about another 200 years--or longer ( somehow I doubt humans won't be around that long, anyway). 2)Quit listening to Al Gore and get off his environmentalist agenda bangwagon--you and all the scientists claiming that humans are contributing to climate change have no definitive evidence to prove it, so please, shut up.

  • @pianoman469 Actually its you who should shup up. There is a lot of proof around we are making the air and ground dirty. Just look outside your house. look at the city smog, look at the rivers you can no longer drink from. look at the animals species dying. If we sit back and do nothing what does that make us? it would make us you and your like. Low responsibility with "its got nothing to do with me attitude" thats how we get big messes in the first place.

  • @videonaj Ha Ha I really do love people like you (sarcasm). Btw I never denied that smog is an issue, I know it is just looking at shit holes like Los Angeles. And in fact, the only place I see electric cars being of any use is in areas where people only have to drive 20-30 miles to and from work each day, because that's all you're getting out of a relatively affordable electric car anyway, unless you spend 100k on a tesla roadster. Like you said batteries are too inefficient as it stands.

  • omg i have this car and it is so safe!!!! i love to drive with it and my cat loves it too and it is just perfect :)))))))))))

  • I love it and I want one

  • this car is great for now.... wish i could have one.....

  • very nice video

  • i really vote for elecric cars and totally agree with them

  • Beautifully made, congratulations to Volvo (and Brusa for providing the electric drive ;-)

This car uses about 16kWh per 100km, that equals to roughly 3 Euros Energy cost per 100km - oh well, not so bad...

  • @robstamm60 is great ... 3 euros / 100 km ... is nothing compared to 10 litres / 100 km ... 1,5 euros / litre that means @ 15 euros / 100 km :) ... i think is cool ..and is ECO friendly :P

  • I want it !!!

  • robert pattinson advertised well!

  • i want one !

  • electric cars sucks you need a special outlet to plug in the electric car to charge but gas car is alot better.

  • @Violatorman Do your homework before saying anything. you can charge it with a normal outlet. when you buy the car you will get a spacial cable to put into your normal outlet and then to the car..

  • @Violatorman Do your home work before saying anything. you can charge it with a normal outlet. when you buy the car you will get a spacial cable to put into your normal outlet and then to the car..

  • @kilkilm i did my homework pal and electric car does sucks because charging the car on the outlet and have the electrician too put the electricity too the outlet and that is very expensive and also when it storm the power goes off if you try to charge your electric car now you do your homework

  • @Violatorman do your homework tbh you cant drive with gas car forever the oil will run out. And im talking about the outlet cable L2read.

  • @Violatorman

"electric outlet that is very expensive" You mean like the one that people put in for Central Air Conditioning?

  • @trade350 no i mean you need too have a electrician too install the special outlet for electric cars and they are expensive and charging a electric for hours the bills are

going too be expensive and when you have a storn or a blackout the power goes off if you charging your electric car.

  • @trade350 we all going too have problems with electric cars now these days i rather stick with gas car and also when you charge a electric car for like 10 hours the electric bill be so sky high and when you have a storm or a blackout your electricity from your house be off and thats no good thats the reason why i put electric cars sucks.

  • @Violatorman its much cheaper to run electric car then gas and its made to drive in the city and if there is a power cut you can alway use your gas car as a reserve. And here in sweden you can charge your electric car´s for free if you are in a shopping mall, Macdonald etc.. i dont know where you from but here there is never a power cut.

  • @kilkilm i live in usa and there always a power cut when it storms and here to charge a electric car its little bit expensive.

  • @kilkilm also where you at your country is different if they put a special outlet on mac donalds here in usa they would charge you and i dont think they wont go for that i dont know.

  • @Violatorman Gas cars are killing our planet, fuck you and your gas car

  • @sinicalgary why dont you fuck yourself you asshole and go fuck your electric car

  • @Violatorman I hope your children starve to death caused by economical fallout due to oil gluttons running out of there Oil you fucktard pig. look at your surroundings

You are what is wrong with our world you pathetic little bitch.

Violator man Ha get named that for being a pedophile? you goof fuck

  • @sinicalgary i am not going too waste my time arguing with your Retarded ass

  • @Violatorman Awe don't want to take the time to listen to how you are a ignorant murderous pedophile bitch.

Why don't you just go continue killing the world and hopefully i Accidentally hit you with my new electric car crushing your skull and riding the world of your filth once and for all

  • @sinicalgary yeah bring it on bitch boy i will crush your face with my gas car you remedial bastard

  • love electrocars!

  • wow ill take this electric volvo over the nissan since the leaf is already 30 grand this one is more luxurious

  • Again, Nice job from volvo!

  • 5*s to the camera man, best bit of car video I've seen in ages. Volvo, you rock, electric is just like choosing a petrol or diesel power plant, no need for a tiny new body shape. Just one thing, could the power cables underneath not run out of sight?

  • Looks pretty good, aside from the ever ugly Volvo grill! Does that even need to be there in an EV!?

  • @kuvceebxab1 Wouldn't make sense to prototype a whole range of cars. Keep things simple until you have the tech, then scale it up.

  • I guess you are right

  • why only coupe. impractical

  • @kuvceebxab1 well it s not like you gonna take it on a long trip thru the whole country, one charge means 150 km

  • Let's all push for electric vehicles now!!!, canvas your government to have electric vehicles in place by years end.

It's in all our hands, to have it in place now!.

p.s. Volvo have the right idea built around the existing chassis, thumbs up for Volvo!.

  • damn love the new front design of the volvo cars ;D go swedish cars - owned by others, but still- xD

  • Yeah, They are like one of the worlds most safe cars ;D

  • who would pay for volvo?

  • mexicans and jews would

  • @taltigolt people who wanna live

  • Lol , true , Volvo's safety ftw!
