Im 22 and still think the main character is a bit young, huge change to the old stargates. But its good series that involves stargate but is it as the old ones? No.

This "Halo" suit is an old ancient suit. U can see suits similiar in season 5 of SGA when they meet Asgards who use suits just like this one (but newest), inspired by ancient design. It all makes sence these ones look older, because they were made way before SGA.

the main bad guy in this series will be themselves, each and every character in the show is capable to doing things that may make them seem like the villan at times... but i do think theyh may come across some races that is hostile, like what would be the chances of them never comming across any on their way back home

I agree that the aliens shouldn't logically be speaking English, but it would suck to have to read subtitles all the time. That's why they have universal translaters that translate the language when aliens speak. Plus would be lots of work to come up with different kinds of languages for every single race encountered.
