To answer your question most of the time it special, and will end up on ESPN or a poster or something...

But, the reason it isn't as special is because they're professionals, and they get paid to do that. There job is to do great and entertaining things on the court.

Not only that but they're on an even playing field, whereas if they were to do it over a white guy with no hops like the one in this video they would have the racial advantage. That's why it's not as special.
