I hope you got a good MRI done.. I tried to go today and chickened out after about 30 seconds, then as I was trying to get the techs attention he was busy or looking at youtube, I could see the top of his head but he couldn't hear me yelling, like hey, what's these crazy noises, he never explained anything, just strapped me in.. There was some annoying pop music on above me, but I had no idea the machine was gonna be an inch from my face ! What the heck ! I felt like it was hard to breathe!
Lol, yeah whats with the twitching! My leg went into a massive shaking state and i got told off a lot haha!

I had to wait about half hour in the waiting room, so played eye spy hehe.
Did they not give you head phones to block out the noise of the machine? I had music playing while i was inside the machine, may be part of the reason why i was moving so much lol. Hope the results are okay! Keep us informed =)
Thanks for sharing your story. I had an MRI 2 days ago. It was just as terrifying as I had feared it to be. What helped me was saying the "Our Father" and "Hail Mary" about 200 times each.
Also: I had earplugs and they gave me a "Get me out now!" wire to hold onto to and you press it in case you panic but they talked me through it - so they were great at Centennary Hospital. They put my brain on CD for me so I can load it up on my computer. CT Scans are much simpler.
My neurologist sent me for an MRI (reason: I can't taste food anymore at all)at Centennary Hospital. When they placed the "cage" over my face, wheeled me backwards, and squashed me in - I flipped. I am officially claustrophobic! I agreed to go back in and simply closed my eyes and DID NOT OPEN THEM and controlled my breathing - it worked. Strangely, I thought of being at a rock concert at certain points in the MRI, then tanning on the beach, then about astronauts in tight spaces.
I wonder what they found in the guy's head beside space?
I acted like a crabby cranky lady when they were stuffing me in that tube! And I was on meds too! I'm gonna borrow some morphine from that guy next time.. I couldn't even hear the CD they tell you to bring!
I just have to face the fact I'm just not the MRI type.. *sigh*.... They let me wear clothes but only ones without any metal so... had the white trash shopping at K-Mart hanging breast look.. Cute real cute.

The best part about it was my gown because it was actual cloth, however becuase my hand is screwed up, I couldn't even tie it up, so I walked around with my pink gitch showing, and it hanging off my shoulders. Boy, I was sexy. I also got got a massive headache afterwards. Thanks for posting your story, so I don't feel alone :)

yeah that will take some time...but try to close your eyes and go to sleep...they give you a panic button that you can press if you can't handleit anymore and they'll pull you out...
well today i got the MRI done and i got 2 paper gowns...thank bobness it came down to my shins...thank u!!! and we wont find out until 2 or 3 days to see wat is wrong with me....i didnt get a panic button, but even though it was noisy it was somehow relaxing :)

Oh common. I am much younger then you most likely (14), and I went into my very first MRI today. It was for my wrist, not head. They strapped my wrist down, so it does not move. They told me the same thing, and it lasted longer than 1 hour. But you know what? My wrist was hurting. I had a splitting headache. I have to go back in soon. I don't complain, though. Tough up girl, it's a price you have to pay to learn what the hell is wrong with you!
i had an MRI to try and determine the cause of my hyperflexia. basically i spasm alot nd so she put a plate over my chest 2 strap me down nd that made me spasm more so i cldnt breath ad i was fittin for 40 mins haha im surprised they cld see anythin. still dunno the couse tho haha dunno why:p i hope ur results r gd.
Maybe lol but at this time I was looking at possible Brain issues....turned out to be a little damage up there causing my vision loss...no big deal NOW lol Im used to them, but this was the first one and the diagnosys was riding on it
Sorry. I wasn't making fun of you. I to was on edge for my first one too. I've had four now and I can't say that I enjoy the experience. If you've got to undergo anymore of these tube trips, ask your doctor for a valium. That should settle your legs down. Just a thought. Everyone that goes to St. Mikes is nuts lol. I'm not saying you're nuts, but a lot of people in there are. It's the worst hospital in town its like a dungeon. I wouldn't go there if my life depended on it. I had my MRI at east general and I didn't have to wait at all.

I have somethign called optic neuritis...and its most commenly the first sign of having MS...so the MRI's watch for any signs of that happening

I've seen my brain, too. It's hideous, though.
